SCA SuiteScript query item to code - cart

I need to add an non-inventory item by internal id to the cart in SCA, how would I go about pulling that item and then adding it? The code samples I find are for pulling data always refer to views, I am thinking I need to pull it as an item, as I need to add it as an item using methods in LiveOrder.Model
thanks for anyhelp you may give

Really depends on which version of SCA you are using.
The quick answer is to look in the ItemDetails.View.js file in the Modules directory and find the code for the addToCart method.
The longer answer is that SCA's architecture and performance leave much to be desired. If you have things like multiple add to or update cart I found that it was easier to write my own cart.ss service and then just forward to the cart or refresh the page on completion.

So I found out that the easiest way to do this is like this, the items are returns in a object array, so thanks for your help
$.get('/api/items?id=10779&fieldset=details', function(obj) {
}).done(function(obj) {
});

Fire an action when a link gets clicked to a page that has the same action (VoltRb)

At http://localhost:3000/books, I have an index page where I have a list of books.
When you click on one of the links, the action to which it is bound, book, gets fired:
However, when you click on one of the links from one of the book pages, the book action doesn't get fired:
Note that the URL does change when the links are clicked, from both the index page and the book pages, but the problem that I'm having is that book doesn't get activated when you click on a link to a book page from another book page. How can I fix a situation like this?
FYI, here is a repo where this problem can be reproduced.
The method book doesn't get called twice because your view is already setup. The change in the url only triggers an reactive update in your view.
What is it that you are trying to achieve?
As it turns out, Volt computations are a way to solve this problem. By using the params collection, you can attach computations to changes in the URL. I solved this issue and got book to run on changes in the URL like so: https://github.com/ylluminarious/volt_action_problems/commit/5fcefc16d7b14a980f68ce572a80f25540d21636.
Sorry for the late reply. This is a known issue thats on my to fix list. As GDP2 mentioned, you can use .watch! to handle it, or the probably better way to do it is to write your controllers in a more functional way so that the data being pulled from params is used in methods instead of setting instance variables.
So for example, if your using the params in a query, instead of doing something like:
attr_reader :query
def index
#item = store.items.where(name: params._name).first
end
You could do something like:
def query
store.items.where(name: params._name).first
end
This might seem less efficient, but there's a lot of caching and this is pretty much just as efficient.
Once I get time though, I'll make it retrigger the action method when accessed data changes. (Sorry, just haven't gotten to it.)

.NET 4.5, LINQ, Bootstrap tab control, and asp:Repeater

I'm brand new to .NET 4.5, bootstrap, and LINQ and I've come across an issue I don't know how to handle elegantly. I was hoping somebody could confirm or correct my thought process, and if you're feeling particularly charitable, point me to a resource that could help me achieve my aim.
I'm developing a page on a web app that is going to link to multiple outside applications. The way I've decided to group the apps is by using a bootstrap Tab control, and making each tab a logical group. I've written the LINQ query that returns all of the information about the apps I need (Title, Description, Link, etc.), but now I need to group the results by another field (which we call ContainerID) and put the groups in their proper Repeater control inside the correct Bootstrap tab.
As of now I'm putting one Repeater inside of each tab, which feels a little clunky, but I can't think of a better way to do it. My idea was to do the following:
1) do a foreach loop on the objects returned by the LINQ query
2) inside the foreach loop, write an if statement like "if ContainerID=" then add the result to a list or array and use that as the datasource for the corresponding Repeater and bind it
3) rinse and repeat for however many categories I need.
As I started down this path it looks to me like there's no such thing as a foreach with LINQ, so I'm dead at step 1. Any thoughts on the best way to accomplish my aim? Thanks in advance...
EDIT: I should mention I'm not tied to any of this. If there's a better UI design to accomplish my purpose, I'm all for it. I'm just looking for the cleanest way to implement it.
The results of a linq query is just the query itself. There are no results until you iterate over the result. You should then be able to iterate over the results like this:
var items = Your LINQ Query
foreach(var item in items)
{
if(ContainerID == item.id)
{
//do work
}
}
Or you can do a items.ToList() which will iterate the query and turn it into a list of objects that you can work with. Hope this helps.

How to massive delete in php-activerecord where id NOT in list?

I'm running a CodeIgniter application with PHP-Activerecord installed and I need to do a massive delete. The PHP-AR library supports massive update and delete, but the function only takes the ids that you want to delete/update. I'm trying to do a massive delete where the ids are NOT in the list.
delete from table where id not in (1,2,3...,500)
Unfortunately, the PHP-Activerecord website is of no help, and their forums are so horribly built (no search... seriously?) that I'm truly stuck.
edit: Please note, CodeIgniter's built-in ORM is not the same as PHP-Activerecord. Just thought I'd clarify that.
A bit late but this may help someone else. In PHPActiveRecord, do it in this way:
$ids_to_delete = array(1,2,3);
YourModel::delete_all(array('conditions' => array('id NOT IN (?)', $ids_to_delete)));
Ref: http://www.phpactiverecord.org/docs/ActiveRecord/Model#methoddelete_all
SInce active record is actually build string query with function, you can use this method:
- make your list as string
- make this query : $this->db->where('id not in',$string)->delete('table')

Sorting a view by dropdown

Hey, i've been looking around for a ajax dropdown sorter for my Views in Drupal.
Unfortunatly, i haven't found alot of usefull information about this subject.
Can anyone tell me if theres a solution already available or can help me started on a custom module by telling me which hooks i should use?
I had a similar issue. Unfortunately I wasn't able to sort the data from the database which is by far the best way. I was however able to take the data and sort it with PHP using a preprocessor function. Depending on the name of your view, setup a function similar to the following:
function templatename_preprocess_name_of__view(&$vars)
{
//Super sweet sorting code goes here
}
The name of your view needs to follow the name of the template file that it is driven by, if there isn't on you should create one. Make sure to change dashes to underscores in your function name. Hope this is helpful. If you find a way to do it from the DB I'm all ears because that would be super awesome.

Modifying view based on ACL in CakePHP

I want to be able to show or hide certain elements in a view based on ACL. For instance, if a user is looking at my Users/index view, I don't want to show a 'Delete User' element if he doesn't have permission to delete users. If he does have permission to edit users, I do want to show a 'Edit User' link.
I can hack this together, but being very new to Cake I'm hoping that there is an elegant solution. The best I've done involves keeping logic in two places, so it's hell to maintain.
Thanks!
I know this is an old question now but for anyone looking for a way like I was...
In AppController::beforeFilter you can assign the ACL component to a view variable and then use it in your view:
$this->set('user', $this->Auth->user());
$this->set('acl', $this->Acl);
And then in you view just juse it like thie:
if($acl->check(array('User' => $user), 'controllers/groupd/admin_delete')) {
This is't necessarily the most correct way to do it but it does work nicely
There is no generic "elegant solution" :) I've always wanted to make such thing as well. Anyway how you could do it:
Overwrite the Html Helper in your app directory - make a copy from /cake/libs/views/helpers/html.php to /app/views/helpers/html.php and made some changes in the Html::link function.
For example you can check if the url contain action edit or delete.
The other part is to pass the proper parameters from the controller. In AppController::beforeFilter you can read the rights of the user (it's better to be cached) and to pass it in a special Auth variable to the View.
So when you have the rights in your View it's easy to modify the link. :)
As I said I haven't did it in real example, but this is the way I would do it.
There is 1 bad point in that - if the original Html helper is changed, your one will remain the same. But I believe that Html helper is mature enough so for me is not a big issue.
I do it like this in app_controller.php, although you could just as well do it in specific controllers. The view variables $usersIndexAllowed and $configureAllowed are then used in conditional statements in the view.
function beforeRender()
{
if($this->layout=='admin')
{
$usersIndexAllowed = $this->Acl->check($user,"users/index");
$configureAllowed = $this->Acl->check($user,"siteAdmins/configure");
}
$this->set(compact('usersIndexAllowed','configureAllowed'));
}
In case you don't want to mess around with overriding core helpers and you want a more automatic way of checking (without hard-coding user group names and users or setting separate link-specific variables) here's my suggestion:
Store all user permissions as session vars when the user logs in (clear on logout) and create a permissions helper to check if logged on user has permissions for a specific action.
code and example here
hope that helps
There's multiple approaches to this scenario. As Nik stated, using a helper to do the checks for you is a quick way to "outsource" the logic and centralize it for ease of use.
Actually, have a look at the AclLinkHelper - it does exactly what you're looking for, however restricted to links only.
