Hello I was trying to build the latest GTK+ 3.0 on Debian Jessie.
After installing the required packages (lots of) I have to build gobject-introspection-1.48.0, but make command fails. ./config ran without errors.
I looked for this issue and just found compile logs without solution.

I'm trying to install and add the DCMTK library to my Xcode project. The library can be found here https://dicom.offis.de/training.php.en
I ran the command to install via home-brew brew install dcmtk but I'm not sure how to add the library and start using it in my project. I have no idea how to add this to my dependencies in Xcode. I managed to successfully compile Horus which uses the framework, but it gives a BAD_ACCESS error after running and I'm not sure how they managed to get it to work? It appears they run it as a build target that then runs CMake behind the scenes? I'm not familiar with this style of doing it. I see many questions regarding this with older versions of Xcode that no longer compile with the newest Xcode which is why I'm asking this question here. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I am using editor codelite-9.1.0 version. I have 20 project attached with a workspace.All project were building properly before earsing the OS from my machine. I am using ubuntu-14.04 LTS os. Now some of the project were building properly and some project are not building. I am getting below error while building the project

/bin/sh: 1: -j: not found
Could you please help me why this error is coming for some project?
The build line indicates that CodeLite could not configure a proper compiler toolchain.
You should let CodeLite scan for the installed compilers, follow these instructions to auto scan and configure the compilers in CodeLite
If no compilers were found, please install one: sudo apt-get install build-essential
Next, try to build your project and CodeLite will do one of the following:
Build your project without a problems
If the compiler assigned to the project no longer exists, CodeLite will allow you to fix this by assigning new compiler

I have been trying to install bakefile(v0.2.9) in mac osx 10.11. Whenever I try to install bakefile using the dmg file I get The installation failed.The installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install error.
I even tried building it from the source code(v1.2.5.1 from github). I built it using the sudo make command.However sudo make install command throws No rule to make target install.
Is there any other way to install bakefile in macosx 10.11?

Finally I managed to install the bakefile 0.2.9 in osx 10.11. I can't use the latest version as it does not supports the bakefile we have been using in our projects.
Though the installation is successful,I get the segmentation fault 11 when I try to build the bakefiles(.bkl). Some of the forums suggested that the problem could be associated with python 2.7. I followed all the steps needed to resolve the issue. But none of them helped.
I have been using python 2.7.11. How can I avoid this segmentation fault?
I advice against using the legacy 0.2.9 version.
I even tried building it from the source code(v1.2.5.1 from github).
You didn’t, that’s the problem — you tried to build a very different version, 0.2.9 != 1.2.5.1. The relation between these two branches is explained at http://bakefile.org — they are incompatible and different.
If you want to build 0.2.9 from sources, you need to download and build 0.2.9.
If you want to use the 1.x version, you can download packaged “binary” version, as explained at https://github.com/vslavik/bakefile
P.S. You don’t need to, and shouldn’t, use sudo when installing somewhere you typically have access to, such as /usr/local on OS X.
I am not a pro-user of Mac, so I am having a lot of problems to install software. I would like to run the Z3Py (Z3 API using Python). I download Z3 v4.3.1, I installed clang v2.9 using Macports-2.1.2 and finally, when I run for Z3
>autoconf
>./configure CXX=clang++
>python scripts/mk_make.py
>cd build
>make
I obtained:

make: clang++: Command not found

Since clang++ is in /opt/local/libexec/llvm-2.9/bin
I am not able to understand what it is happening and how to solve it. I really appreciate whatever hint because after two days trying I have not find any solution.
I just tried to replicate this error report, but I was unable to do so. Z3 builds just fine with CXX=clang++ on my machine. I can only suspect that your clang++, while it may be installed, is not in the path. For instance, simply running clang++ in the console would throw the same "command not found" error. Perhaps this could be fixed by simply running
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/local/libexec/llvm-2.9/bin
before attempting compilation. However, I suspect there would be more issues with libraries not being found after that.
I could imagine that something went wrong during the installation via MacPorts, e.g., that it requires modifications to various environment variables which are not done automatically.
As Nuno suggests, XCode (with CLI tools) may be much easier to use and they should be available for free in the AppStore.
You should install XCode CLI tools instead. It already includes an up-to-date version of clang (2.9 is very old).
I think both XCode and XCode CLI tools are free on Appstore and/or apple developer center.
I'm trying to make a Xcode project from the Insight Toolkit (ITK, itk.org). I issued the following command into the terminal:
ccmake -DCMAKE_C_COMPILER=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/gcc -DCMAKE_CXX_COMPILER=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/g++ -GXcode /<path to source>
When I try to generate the project it fails with this error:

The C compiler "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/gcc" is not able to compile a simple test program.

How can I configure the call to cmakexbuild? I haven't found a respective entry in the CMake configuration menu.
I have found similar problems from other users with other projects so I assume it's a problem with the CMake configuration.
I'm using Xcode 4.3 and CMake 2.8.7 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3.

It's a CMake bug and it seem to be been fixed in development version:

You can fix this by telling OSX which version of Xcode you want to use. If you installed 4.3, it has moved to the Apps folder, along with all the tools. Previously they were all in /Developer. Do the following and try again.
sudo /usr/bin/xcode-select -switch /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer
You may also have to install the command-line tools. I already installed these so I don't know what will happen without them.
cmake 2.8.8 rc1 is out now. Perhaps try that. I think it has solved my problem. :)
