When running an example from the book "Application testing with Capybara", I got the error

I changed "then line" for..

And I got:

fill_in and click_on are two distinct methods. Your code should look like this:

As click on does not support css selectors you can use find instead

I'm attempting to use shared_examples as a way to repeat expectations across multiple routes. In particular, I want to test whether some static assets in my header and footer are loading. However, I get an error saying that:
RSpec::Core::ExampleGroup::WrongScopeError: `it_behaves_like` is not available from within an example (e.g. an `it` block) or from constructs that run in the scope of an example (e.g. `before`, `let`, etc). It is only available on an example group (e.g. a `describe` or `context` block).
Now, I'm not sure how to remedy this. This is my current setup.

It has been a while since this question was asked. If it's still relevant:
There are two spaces after #{base_title}.
Delete a space and it should work.
it looks like you missed a { in the first example:
"title" with text "#base_title} Home"
this string is just not interpolated and has nothing to do with let
and other error should not occur if your code and test work properly.
Just be ahead of changing Capybara and Webrat syntaxes. This should work for your example:
page.should have_selector('h1', text: "#{base_title} Help")
or you can replace it with class like that:
page.should have_selector("h1[class='title']", text: "#{base_title} Help)

This also can happen if you have a stray . trailing a method, so check for those as well.
It happened to me because of special characters, in my case portuguese signs. I believe the problem is the "ü" in hinzufügen. Looking for a solution yet.
Edit: found a solution!
I added the following to the very top of the rb file:
# encoding: utf-8
(don't miss the # sign, it is needed)
This error due to an extra end.Mean you have written an extra end with no matching do.
This happened to me as well but because I was missing an end. I am following this tutorial
