When i request in the controller to get data from the DB the below error is coming
i though its because of the version mismatch with JDBC driver, can you please explain why this error is coming,
if any other details required please let me know.

No this is because i use the JNDI where Tomcat DBCP is not supporting.. i have removed JNDI data source and directly connecting its fine now ;)

Try this solution : Set a validation query for parameter "validationQuery".
For example : dataSource.setValidationQuery("SELECT 1");

Tomcat start fails using springboot in existing old project

I am actually creating rest end points on an existing project which is just a library.
So, I am adding springboot to the existing code. The existing code works as a normal jar in production. I need to add restApis to it. So upgrading it to springboot. I want the tomcat to run. So that I can add rest-endpoints to the code Getting error -

Spring boot 2.1 + Ignite repository 2.7.0 -workaround for spring data commons issue while using #Query or query methods

Hi I'm using Spring boot 2.1.2 and Ignite 2.7.0
I have CRUD Ignite Repository with query methods
#RepositoryConfig(cacheName = SmartConstants.IGNITE_ISSUE_DETAILS_CACHE)
public interface IgniteIssueDetailsRepository extends IgniteRepository<IgniteIssueDetails,Long>{
List<IgniteIssueDetails> findAllByProjectName(String projectName);
Long countByProjectNameAndResolution(String projectName,String resolution);
Long countByProjectName(String projectName);
}
Error :
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: You have defined query
method in the repository but you don't have any query lookup strategy
defined. The infrastructure apparently does not support query methods!
I understand this is due to spring data commons change from 2.0.X to 2.1.X
but couldn't find a solution for ignite
Ignite 2.7 still have old method definition
#Override protected QueryLookupStrategy getQueryLookupStrategy(final QueryLookupStrategy.Key key,
EvaluationContextProvider evaluationCtxProvider) {
This does not meed with new spring data commons definition
#Override
protected Optional<QueryLookupStrategy> getQueryLookupStrategy(#Nullable Key key,
QueryMethodEvaluationContextProvider evaluationContextProvider) {
I tried including multiple versions of commons but keep getting some other error.
If I use pre-loaded method like findAll() it works fine!!
Do we have any spring-data-commons version which can help me here :(
main spring application :
#SpringBootApplication
#EnableCaching
#EnableAsync
#EnableScheduling
#EnableIgniteRepositories(value="com.fico.ps.smart.model.ignite.repository",queryLookupStrategy = Key.CREATE)
#EnableJpaRepositories("com.fico.ps.smart.model.onboarding.repository")

<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.data</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-data-commons</artifactId>
<version>2.0.14.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
I also faced the above issue. This issue is resolved in Apache Ignite 2.8.1 with ignite-spring-data_2.2 dependency.
Please use the below maven dependency
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.ignite</groupId>
<artifactId>ignite-spring-data_2.2</artifactId>
<version>2.8.1</version>
</dependency>
I found a solution.
problem was to support spring boot 2.0.X ignite has special _2.0 spring data library.
it supports only 2.7.0.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.ignite</groupId>
<artifactId>ignite-spring-data_2.0</artifactId>
<version>${ignite.version}</version>
</dependency>
after this query methods work fine :)
As Bruce indicated the version 2.0.14.RELEASE of spring-data-commons is the only one that works. I tried this newer version and got the error also!

<groupId>org.apache.ignite</groupId>

Do I need to exclude some dependency in my POM file?
Can you give e some advice how I can fix this issue?
A few of those dependencies should likely be marked as <scope>provided</scope>. For example javax.servlet:javax.servlet-api, both the JAXB API and implementation and javax.activation:acitivation should definitely be marked as provided.
Also Servlet 4.0 is only available if you enable Java EE 8 preview mode, by passing -Dee8.preview.mode=true. This can be passed on the command like when you launch the server, be placed as a system property in the configuration or added to the JAVA_OPTS.

Error while deploying through hudson in tomcat

I have a maven project which runs flawlessly on my local environment. But when I deploy it over our DEV environment, it gives out the following error while deploying and stops any further deployment steps and the server just goes up.
log4j:ERROR A "org.apache.log4j.xml.DOMConfigurator" object is not assignable to a "org.apache.log4j.spi.Configurator" variable.
log4j:ERROR The class "org.apache.log4j.spi.Configurator" was loaded by
log4j:ERROR [org.apache.catalina.loader.StandardClassLoader#19968e23] whereas object of type
log4j:ERROR "org.apache.log4j.xml.DOMConfigurator" was loaded by [WebappClassLoader
context: /cloud
delegate: false
repositories:
/WEB-INF/classes/
----------> Parent Classloader:
org.apache.catalina.loader.StandardClassLoader#19968e23
].
log4j:ERROR Could not instantiate configurator [org.apache.log4j.xml.DOMConfigurator].
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (com.att.security.web.servlet.filters.CSPCookieFilter).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
I see this in the catalina logs when the while deploying. The deployment is always a success but the application does not work properly. It started occurring when I upgraded my application from spring 3.2.0 to 3.2.7 as I wanted to use the JPA 2.1 specification and call a procedure directly.
As a workaround, I have to wipe out the workspace and re-deploy the build via hudson and then manually restart the tomcat 7.0.52 server for the application to work properly. In that case also, the error comes but the application works fine.
My POM looks like this:

Recent changes I have done to my application:
1. Including the Javamail API dependency
2. Upgrading the spring-jpa-data dependecy to 1.6.0 from 1.3.4
3. Upgrading the spring base version to 3.2.7 from 3.2.0
I searched the web but did not find something working for me. Please guide. The application will be going to PROD in a week and I don't want to stick with my workaround.
Any help is pre-appreciated as I don't have the reputation to do the same after posting the question :)
You must have placed log4j.jar in both Tomcat libs and your web application libs. You have to chose and keep one of them.
