How to pass Parameters in Ruby for Google App Script - ruby

I have the following script in Google Apps:
function createSpreadsheet(environment, timestamp) {
Logger.log(environment);
var folders = DriveApp.getFoldersByName(environment);
while (folders.hasNext()) {
var folder = folders.next();
}
var testName = timestamp + ".test_" + environment;
Logger.log(testName);
var file = {
"title": testName,
"mimeType": "application/vnd.google-apps.spreadsheet",
"parents": [
{
"id": folder.getId()
}
]
};
Drive.Files.insert(file);
var allFiles = folder.getFilesByName(testName);
var files = {};
while (allFiles.hasNext()) {
var file = allFiles.next();
return file.getId();
}
}
and from Ruby code I am performing the following call
request = Google::Apis::ScriptV1::ExecutionRequest.new
request.function = 'createSpreadsheet'
request.parameters = [environment.to_s ,timestamp.to_s ]
But it is not working and I get error during the execution of the script:
Script error message: Cannot call method "getId" of undefined.
What I am doing wrong ? that parameters are a simple strings
Thanks a lot

It was my fault I forgot publishing my last change in the script

cannot read property "0" of undefined error

I have a code that pulls information from all excel type files in some folders on google drive. The problem is that there are over 100 files and the code only pulls data from around 30 files and shows the following error: "TypeError: Cannot read property '0' of undefined" The error is in line 12, "console.log(lista_carpetas_ok2[i][0]) // Here, you can see the folder ID in the log."
function listfechas() {
var ss2 = SpreadsheetApp.getActiveSpreadsheet();
var carpetasSheet = ss2.getSheetByName("carpetas");
var lista_carpetas = carpetasSheet.getRange("C2:C" + carpetasSheet.getLastRow()).getValues();
var lista_carpetas_ok2 = lista_carpetas.filter(([a]) => a);
var sheet2 = ss2.getSheetByName("SS23");
sheet2.clear();
sheet2.appendRow(["Folder", "Name", "SMS","rec SMS", "FIT", "rec FIT", "2FIT", "rec 2FIT" ,"3FIT" ,"rec 3FIT" ,"PP" ,"rec PP" ,"2PP" ,"rec 2PP", "3PP", "rec 3PP","SHIP", "rec SHIP", "2SHIP","rec 2SHIP"]);

};
} catch (e) {
// In this modification, when your folder ID cannot be used, that folder ID is skipped. At that time, an error message can be seen in the log.
console.log(e.message);
}
}
}
When I wrote the code, I added catch (e) which I thought skipped the folder if there was no excel file in that folder, but the code stops at folder "QM0201" which does not have an excel file in it.
Does anybody know how I can fix it? I would like the code to run even if some folders don't have an excel files in them, those should just be skipped.
Thank you so much in advance! Any help is appreciated.
To avoid the error, replace
for (var i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
by
for (var i = 0; i < lista_carpetas_ok2.length; i++) {
This might also help to avoid the code to stop at certain folder.
Regarding the error
> Info Cannot read property 'getRange' of null"
This occurs because the spreadsheet hasn't a sheet named fechas
to avoid this error you might add
if(!SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas")) break;
above of
var sms = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("A2").getValue();
if(
Debugging tips:
To verify that the correct values are assigned to lista_carpetas_ok2, add console.log(JSON.stringify(lista_carpetas_ok2)); just below lista_carpetas_ok2 declaration so you can review the values assigned to the variable.
To have more informative logs when an error occurs, instead of
} catch (e) {
Logger.log(e.toString()); // or console.log(e.message);
}
use
} catch (e) {
console.log(e.message, e.stack);
}
This is hardly a cause of the error but who knows, the code has the very unefficient part — 72 calls to the server. It can be greatly improved if you change this:
var sms = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("A2").getValue();
var recsms = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("B2").getValue();
var fit = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("C2").getValue();
var recfit = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("D2").getValue();
var dfit = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("E2").getValue();
var recdfit = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("F2").getValue();
var tfit = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("G2").getValue();
var rectfit = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("H2").getValue();
var pp = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("I2").getValue();
var recpp = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("J2").getValue();
var dpp = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("K2").getValue();
var recdpp = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("L2").getValue();
var tpp = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("M2").getValue();
var rectpp = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("N2").getValue();
var ship = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("O2").getValue();
var recship = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("P2").getValue();
var dship = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("Q2").getValue();
var recdship = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange("R2").getValue();
To this:
var values = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange('A2:R2').getValues().flat();
var [sms,recsms,fit,recfit,dfit,recdfit,tfit,rectfit,pp,recpp,dpp,recdpp,tpp,rectpp,ship,recship,dship,recdship] = values;
It will reduce the quantity of calls to 4!
It should work faster and, if the real cause of the error is exceed of time limit (~6 min) this improvement can help. Try it.
Probably you could simplify the code further. Instead of this:
data = [
fold.getName(),
file.getName(),
sms,
recsms,
fit,
recfit,
dfit,
recdfit,
tfit,
rectfit,
pp,
recpp,
dpp,
recdpp,
tpp,
rectpp,
ship,
recship,
dship,
recdship,
];
You can use this:
var values = SpreadsheetApp.open(file).getSheetByName("fechas").getRange('A2:R2').getValues().flat();
var data = [fold.getName(), file.getName(), ...values];
No need to use the 18 variables, as far as I can see. It barely affects on the speed, though.

Error comparing current app version number with latest. Version name=production.release.1.0.0.5 and lastest version= [duplicate]

I need to check current version of Installed Application and Playstore application version. If it is not same app should navigate to Playstore .
im using xam.Plugin.LatestVersion(2.1.0) To get the latestversion number of application from play console. unfortunately not getting latest version number of application from play store. The below code im using.
private async void ChekAppVersion()
{
try
{
latestVersionNumber = await CrossLatestVersion.Current.GetLatestVersionNumber();
installedVersionNumber = CrossLatestVersion.Current.InstalledVersionNumber;
if (installedVersionNumber != latestVersionNumber)
{
await DisplayAlert("New Version", "There is a new version of this app available. Please update now?", "Ok");
await CrossLatestVersion.Current.OpenAppInStore();
ChekAppVersion();
}
else
{
}
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
}
}
Im getting the installedVersionNumber, but im unable to get the latestVersionNumber(Playstore).
Please help on this.
They have removed the version from div, now it's displayed with js, but data is still there inside a <script> tag. My current fixed code is:
private bool _lockCheckUpdates;
public async Task<bool> CheckNeedUpdate()
{
if (Connectivity.NetworkAccess != NetworkAccess.Internet || _lockCheckUpdates)
return false;
_lockCheckUpdates = true;
try
{
HttpClient myClient = CreateClient();
if (Device.RuntimePlatform == Device.Android)
{
var bundle = "com.todo.app"; //ANDROID BUNDLE NAME HERE
string url = $"https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id={bundle}&hl=en";
string raw = await myClient.GetStringAsync(new Uri(url));
var doc = new HtmlDocument();
doc.LoadHtml(raw);
var scripts = doc.DocumentNode.Descendants()
.Where(n => n.Name == "script" && n.InnerText.Contains("AF_initDataCallback({key: 'ds:4'"))
.ToArray();
var script = scripts.First().InnerText;
var engine = new Jurassic.ScriptEngine();
var eval = "(function() { var AF_initDataCallback = function(p) { return p.data[1][2][140][0][0][0]; }; return " + script + " })()";
var result = engine.Evaluate(eval);
//var json = JSONObject.Stringify(engine, result); //for debug, check in browser console with JSON.parse(json)
var remote = $"{result}".ToDouble();
var local = App.Version.ToDouble();
return local < remote;
}
else if (Device.RuntimePlatform == Device.iOS)
{
var bundle = "com.todo.app";//iOS BUNDLE NAME HERE
string url = $"http://itunes.apple.com/lookup?bundleId={bundle}";
string raw = await myClient.GetStringAsync(new Uri(url));
var dto = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<AppStoreRecord>(raw);
double local = App.Version.ToDouble();
if (dto.ResultCount > 0)
{
double remote = dto.Results[0].Version.ToDouble();
return remote > local;
}
}
}
catch (Exception e)
{
Logger.Error("CheckNeedUpdate", e);
}
finally
{
_lockCheckUpdates = false;
}
return false;
}
Using nugets
Jurassic to evaluate the script on page,
HtmlAgilityPack to parse html,
Xamarin.Essentials to check if we are online,
and AppoMobi.Specials for .ToDouble() etc
I hope this could also be useful to fix https://github.com/edsnider/latestversionplugin/issues/43 :)
The plugin you are using no longer works for Android https://github.com/edsnider/latestversionplugin/issues/43
You will need to find a new way to get the desired information.
PR has been made on this plugin... it works again ;-)

Reduce script run time in Google Apps Script?

I created a script that tracks attendance for distance learning. After a while it times out so I think I am having issues with too many calls to the Google Classroom API, however I don't see a way that I can change it to take those calls out of a loop.
The script takes all the Google Classroom classes that my apps script account is a co-teacher on and using timed triggers creates a daily attendance assignment with one question that says 'here'. Students are then supposed to answer the question and then another trigger at night runs the function to 'grade' each assignment and populate my spreadsheet so school secretaries can view it in the morning and record the previous days attendance.
The part that seems to have the bottleneck is my getStudentResponses() function. I tried to reduce time by filtering out students that didn't submit the assignment, but it wasn't enough. Does anyone see any way that I can make this faster? I was reading up on using the Cache Service, but I couldn't figure out how to get that to work. Any help would be appreciated.
var ss = SpreadsheetApp.getActive();
var date = new Date();
/*
creates a button to programmatically create all necessary timed triggers for easy deployment
*/

var ui = SpreadsheetApp.getUi();
ui.createMenu('Attendance')

appendRow is slow, you should avoid to used it inside a for loop. Instead build an array, then pass the values using a single setValues call.

Detecting native API calls in javascript for Object

I am trying to build an analysis program for static analysis on the java script file provided to the program using esprima and estraverse. I want to make out and differentiate between the local functions defined by user and calls to the native library for Objects like 'Object.prototype() , Object.getOwnProperties()'.
var fs = require('fs');
var esprima = require('esprima');
var estraverse = require('estraverse');
var functionsStats = {}; //1
var addStatsEntry = function(funcName) { //2
if (!functionsStats[funcName]) {
functionsStats[funcName] = {calls: 0, declarations:0};
}
};
var filename = process.argv[2];
console.log('Processing', filename);
var ast = esprima.parse(fs.readFileSync(filename));
estraverse.traverse(ast, {
enter: function(node) {
if (node.type === 'FunctionDeclaration') {
addStatsEntry(node.id.name); //4
functionsStats[node.id.name].declarations++;
} else if (node.type === 'CallExpression' && node.callee.type === 'Identifier') {
addStatsEntry(node.callee.name);
functionsStats[node.callee.name].calls++; //5
}
}
});
Not sure how to differentiate the native API calls.
Any hint would help. Thanks in anticipation.

Parse Cloud Code getting Error Failed with: TypeError: Object 0 has no method 'set'

Im using Cloud Code for my Android App.
After saving a Value to a Parse Class I want to Update a field (credits) from my Users.
var query = new Parse.Query(Parse.User);
query.equalTo("householdOf", request.params.household);
query.find({
success: function(roomMates) {
for (var roomMate in roomMates)
{
if(roomMate != currentUser)
{
roomMate.set(
{
credit: 3
},
{
error: function(gameTurnAgain, error)
{
console.log("set failed " +error.code + error.message);
response.error("error");
}
});
}
}
this is my Cloud Code. I get the Error (TypeError: Object 0 has no method 'set') by roomMate.set
The roomMates must be Parse.User or am I wrong?
I am not professional in JS, but I am also playing with parse Cloude Code. So I suppose that you enumerate roomMates incorrectly.
You should enumerate array and get object like:
for (var i=0; i<roomMates.length; i++) {
roomMate = roomMates[i];
}
The key in enumerator works in key-value dictionaries to enumerate keys.
var dictionary = {key1 : "Hi", key2: "Bye"};
for (var key in dictionary) {
obj = dictionary[key];
}
