I get a 404 error not found in CodeIgniter HMVC - codeigniter

I hope someone can help me with this error, I have these following lines of code in my project HMVC CodeIgniter 3.0
config.php
$config['base_url'] = 'http://web.com/project/';
$config['index_page'] = 'index.php';
$config['uri_protocol'] = 'REQUEST_URI';
routes.php
$route['default_controller'] = 'login/home';
$route['404_override'] = '';
$route['translate_uri_dashes'] = FALSE;
.htaccess
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|assets|images|files|robots\.txt)
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L]
the root of my folders are as follows
project
| application
| | config
| | | config.php
| | | routes.php
| | modules
| | | login
| | | | models
| | | | | ...
| | | | views
| | | | | ...
| | | | controllers
| | | | | home.php
|.htaccess
result:
404 Page Not Found
The page you requested was not found.
I need help.. thanks!

change your
$config['base_url'] = 'http://web.com/project/';
to
$config['base_url'] = 'https://web.com/project';

If you already using .htaccess, just remove index.php in $config['index_page'] and most of my projects using codeigniter, i leave my $config['base_url'] empty. Also to make sure, your project controller actually exist in controller folder and properly using CI format. Read the manual for more information.

Strange issue facing with user logout

I am working on a project for user management system where I am facing a very strange issue with user login and logout. The issue is when user gets logged in and visits some other pages after that if he/she wants to logout it doesn't work. After clearing browser history and cookies again user can logged back. One more point after clearing the browser history and cookies suppose user is not staying long and press logout it works. I don’t know what’s wrong with the code.

and my logout code is as follows,
// logout customer
function logout()
{
//$this->load->library('session');
$this->session->unset_userdata('customer');
//$this->cache->clean();
// ob_clean();
redirect(base_url());
}
if he/she wants to logout it did not work.
with your logout function, this
$this->session->unset_userdata('customer');
only unsets the specified key from the $_SESSION superglobal.
you are not logging out anyone, you just unset 'customer' index of the $_SESSION array, use the PHP function session_destroy(); instead
Use session destroy method and then redirect:-
$this->session->sess_destroy();
redirect(base_url());
Update your logout function like this if you have set a cookie name as "customer":
function logout()
{
$this->load->helper('cookie');
delete_cookie("customer");
$this->session->unset_userdata('customer');
redirect(base_url());
}

CodeIgniter 2.x to 3.1.7 all controllers redirecting to default controller

I've recently upgraded a project from CodeIgniter 2.x to 3.1.7 but I'm having some issues.
There's a ton of similar questions been asked before but none of them solve the issue I'm having.
Basically all of my controllers are redirecting to the default controller.
So visiting mywebsite.com shows the default controller fine however going to mywebsite.com/admin or any other route also shows the default controller.
I've tried CodeIgniter and other peoples suggestions of changing $config['uri_protocol'] to all the possible options but it makes no difference. When upgrading I've been careful to copy any configurations that still apply in CodeIgniter 3.x.
Here's my .htaccess file:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L,QSA]
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php56 .php

I've followed CodeIgniters step-by-step upgrade guide and made all the necessary changes i.e. system and index.php files, class files named Ucfirst etc. I've followed all the steps but I'm still having this issue.
Prior to upgrading to 3.1.7, everything was working fine.

Codeigniter font issue - CORS issue

I've integrated some templates into the welcome page codeignitor file
using the base_url to add the style sheet to the page.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php echo base_url(); ?>assets/css/fonts.css">
But now I am getting this error "has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://localhost' is therefore not allowed access."
I've tried various techniques here - but nothing is working.

Laravel 5.2 some routes doesn't work

I have this route:
Route::get('/sites', 'SitesController#index');
and when i run http://localhost:8880/sites it responds:
The Browser response (404 error): The requested resource /sites was not found on this server.
The Terminal Response : Invalid request (Unexpected EOF)
When i change the route to:
Route::get('/premium-sites', 'SitesController#index');
And run it in my browser
http://localhost:8880/premium-sites.
Everything works like a charm.
I don't use anywhere else this route (/sites) and
all other 20 routes i have, work fine except for this.
I can't understand what kind of bug is this and i can't find a way to fix it.
Update
This is my route list
+--------+----------+-------------------+-----------------+-------------------------------------------------+------------+
| Domain | Method | URI | Name | Action | Middleware |
+--------+----------+-------------------+-----------------+-------------------------------------------------+------------+
| | GET|HEAD | categories/{type} | categories.show | App\Http\Controllers\CategoriesController#index | web |
| | GET|HEAD | sites | sites.show | App\Http\Controllers\SitesController#index | web |
+--------+----------+-------------------+-----------------+-------------------------------------------------+------------+
I also changed the route to this:
Route::get('/sites', [
'as' => 'sites.show',
'uses' => 'SitesController#index'
]);
and my controller to:
public function index()
{
return 'test route';
}
The response is :
And the terminal response:
[Tue Aug 30 01:56:15 2016] ::1:61591 [404]: /sites - No such file or directory
[Tue Aug 30 01:56:15 2016] ::1:61593 [200]: /favicon.ico
[Tue Aug 30 01:56:38 2016] ::1:61594 Invalid request (Unexpected EOF)
I am probably late for this answer. Anyways could be useful for someone.
Had this issue the other day, the reason for me was due to the existence of a the folder name "X" in the public directory which resembles the route name "X".
Most probably you are having a folder called "sites" in public directory, Either rename that or the one in the routes file
It appears that there may be some conflict somewhere in one of your routes file. Here is the setup I have and it is working just fine.
routes.php
Route::group(['middleware' => ['web']], function () {
Route::get('/sites', 'SitesController#index');
});
route:list
php artisan route:list
+--------+----------+-------+------+--------------------------------------------+------------+
| Domain | Method | URI | Name | Action | Middleware |
+--------+----------+-------+------+--------------------------------------------+------------+
| | GET|HEAD | sites | | App\Http\Controllers\SitesController#index | web |
+--------+----------+-------+------+--------------------------------------------+------------+
Here is my controller
<?php
namespace App\Http\Controllers;
class SitesController extends Controller
{
public function index()
{
return 'Test Route';
}
}
To debug this, I would start with xdebug to see if you can break at the route to see what is going on and follow the trace. if you do not have xdebug set up, comment out all routes except for the /sites route and see if it works then. If it does, one of your other routes is in the way. Begin by uncommenting routes one by one or group by group and when the error re-surfaces, you are closer.
Maybe Route::get('/sites', 'SitesController#index'); is involved
better use this route:
// Sites
Route::resource('/sites', 'SitesController');
for example the route :
// Home
Route::resource('/home', 'HomeController');
have :
GET|HEAD | home | home.index | App\Http\Controllers\HomeController#index
POST | home | home.store | App\Http\Controllers\HomeController#store
GET|HEAD | home/create | home.create | App\Http\Controllers\HomeController#create
DELETE | home/{home} | home.destroy | App\Http\Controllers\HomeController#destroy
PUT|PATCH | home/{home} | home.update | App\Http\Controllers\HomeController#update
GET|HEAD | home/{home} | home.show | App\Http\Controllers\HomeController#show
GET|HEAD | home/{home}/edit | home.edit | App\Http\Controllers\HomeController#edit
