Trying to install UWP DesktopAppConverter gets "Access is Denied" - windows

The Windows Store is unable to install the Desktop Converter on build 14393 here. It starts and gets an error 0x80073CF9. It seems to be only that, as I can download other apps fine.
So I am trying to install it from the zip file.
I have copied the files from DesktopAppConvert.zip into C:\Windows\System32.
I also copied BaseImage-14393 there.
First time I type desktopappconverter it prompted me for the name of the app, and so on.
Then when I go
CMD PS C:\> .\DesktopAppConverter.ps1 -Setup -BaseImage .\BaseImage-14393.wim -Verbose
I get : Access is denied.
What am I doing wrong ?
TIA

I get : Access is denied.
Please extract the DesktopAppConverter.zip to a local folder, like Desktop folder of current user
Also need to ensure the current user has the Administrator permission.
Run the following command from an admin PowerShell window to setup the converter

Error connecting to mac from visual studio

I have the right IP address although when I go to connect to my mac I get this error message:
An error occurred while generating the SSH keys. Please check that the environment is properly configured. Details: cat: /Users/cbcb/Library/Caches/Xamarin/XMA/Keys/---------------------: No such file or directory
I have tried creating a new admin user, I have remote login enabled, and when I go to the following location above the folder is blanked.
I fixed this problem by manually importing the public ssh key in MonoTouch folder into the authorized_keys on mac.
To do so :
1- Copy the content of 'id_rsa.pub' located in "%localAppData%/Xamarin/Monotouch"
2- In your MAC (assuming that it is running on a VM), go to "/Users//.ssh/Authorized_keys" Open the file, paste the key in a new line, save then close.
3- Now go back to your Visual Studio and try again, you'll be able to pair your macOS
Enjoy
Close Visual Studio
Delete C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Xamarin\MonoTouch
Start Visual Studio
If you try and delete the directory:
Delete C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Xamarin\MonoTouch
When you relaunch visual studio and it prompts for your Apple login info you need to use the login information for the user who is currently logged in on the Mac. If you use a different account then the current user it will fail.
Sounds like you may need to redirect that to your default .ssh key location. Mine on my Mac is ~/.ssh/known_hosts. Also blank out your SSH keys please, just for security.

Angular Console: Can't create library

I'm trying to create a new library using v 8.1.0 of the Angular Console on Windows. The error I get is "ENOENT: no such file or directory, mkdir "c:\path\to\my\workspace\libs\new_library_name"
"c:\path\to\my\workspace\libs" exists already
new_library_name folder should be created by Angular Console
The command run by the console is ng generate #nrwl/angular:library new_library_name.
I've tried different names/paths, running as administrator, running inside VSCode and in the standalone console. No luck with anything. This used to work.
Also, if I create the folder c:\path\to\my\workspace\libs\new_library_name and then run the console again, I get an error ENOENT: no such file or directory c:\path\to\my\workspace\libs\new_library_name\ReadMe.md. Of course the ReadMe doesn't exist - it needs to be created by the console.
What am I doing wrong or where to look?
Problem solved. I had turned on Controlled Folder Access in Windows 10 and mistakenly included my project folder as a controlled folder, which prevented applications (Angular Console, Yarn, etc) from writing to the folder. Removed it from Controlled Access and all is working again.

Getting Ruby to chdir to remote server on Windows

I am stuck with changing a directory to "\10.10.10.10\D$\some_dir"
FileUtils.chdir("\\\\10.10.10.10\\D$\\some_dir\\")
and
Dir.chdir("\\\\10.10.10.10\\D$\\some_dir\\")
do not work in Ruby 1.9.3! It worked in Ruby 1.8.7
Any ideas how to change dir to a remote box dir?
OK that was a problem in windows, it could not access the specified folder on remote box because the credentials were not specified for accessing that folder, all i haqve done is go to win explorer and in address line put the path to that folder on remote box "\10.10.10.10\D$\some_dir" - the credentials is prompted after that , just enter them and put "remember credentials" after you access the folder via explorer the script runs ok

appcfg.py is not running with cmd prompt (Windows 7)

I am having strange problem. I used to run appcfg.py to update my app to appengine but now its not working anymore. When I run this command
C:\Program Files <x86>\Google\google_appengine>appcfg.py update E:\path\myApp\
Its not giving me anything, no error no feedback. Its just back to this line
C:\Program Files <x86>\Google\google_appengine>
Any idea about this issue!
P.S. I'm using Python 2.7. My code is updating through google app launcher but I need to run it from cmd prompt as I will be downloading/uploading appengine stuff which launcher doesn't allow me to do!
Thanks
I still had a little trouble with the instructions. Here's the steps I used to create a batch file to use the Google App Engine download_app with Windows 7.
In my example,
I'll use drive, C:
Default python path will be, C:\Python27\python.exe
GAE path (include "), "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\google_appengine\appcfg.py"
App ID {your_app_id} will be just your app-id name
{your_app_version} is the "Version:" number in your GAE app.yaml file
I'll create a folder on my Windows 7 desktop and call it GAE_App
The desktop folder path will be C:\Users\{username}\Desktop\GAE_App
{your email} will be the Gmail account connected to your GAE
Right-click on the desktop and select New->Text Document. Open the newly created text document and add the following line of code modified for your setup to the blank text document,
C:\Python27\python.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\google_appengine\appcfg.py" download_app -A {your_app_id} -V {your_app_version} --email={your email} C:\Users\{username}\Desktop\GAE_App
Save the text document and change the file name to GAE_Download.bat
It's important that the extension now says ".bat" instead of ".txt"
Once finished, click on the batch to execute it. You'll be asked for a password and then the files should download into the GAE_App folder on your desktop. Now, whenever you need to download your files, just click on the batch file.
Not sure why Google didn't simply include this feature with their GAE for Windows software.
I faced the same issue. Here is a simple solution.
Just do this following Steps:
Go to program file where google app engine is installed. Generally It is named as Google.
click on appcfg.py and select open with.. Select "Choose Default Programs".
Select Python from programs and select "Always Use the selected program to open this kind of file" .
Now run the command you should get the results on command line.
For reference click here
Fixed by accessing python lib like that
C:\Python27>python appcfg.py update E:\path\myApp\
Here's a solution that worked for me:
"google_appengine/appcfg.py" update "C:\PATH TO APP
The appcfg.bat that should be used is located **C:\Program Files\Google\Cloud SDK\google-cloud-sdk\platform\appengine-java-sdk\bin** and not the empty appcfg.bat that for some unknown reason also was here C:\Program Files\Google\Cloud SDK\
Good practice is to add this path to the system variable PATH
This worked for me
Basis
<PATH_TO_PYTHON>python <PATH_TO_APPCFG.PY>appcfg.py -A <PROJECT_INSTANCE_NAME> update app.yaml
Example
X:\Software\Python2.7\python Q:\SOFTWARE\GoogleAppEngineSDK\appcfg.py -A great-1337 update app.yaml

Permissions and SVN Updates on Windows Server 2008: same folder & SVN account, different Active Directory users

We're experiencing strange permission issues with SVN after switching from Windows Server 2003 to Server 2008.
On our standard build box there is a folder (C:\SVN_Code_Folder) which AD_User_A associates with a SVN repository using SVN_User and TortoiseSVN 1.7.6
When using Windows 2003, when AD_User_B logs into the box and tries to Update, Switch, Merge the SVN_Code_Folder with SVN_User, the command is executed.
It Windows 2008, it fails with the message:
Command: Update
Error: Working copy 'C:\jboss-4.2.3.GA\server\New folder' locked
Error: sqlite: attempt to write a readonly database
Error: sqlite: attempt to write a readonly database
Completed!
Attempting to unlock the file, which was never locked, via the context menu is met with the following message:
There's nothing to unlock. No file has a lock in this working copy.
I've played with the permissions of the folder and I've discovered that giving "Domain Users" control over the folder fixes the issue, but I would prefer to not have such a broad permissions. I've tried granting the same permissions to individual users and a SVN-group, but these too did not work.
What am I missing?
Is this an improper use of SVN?
Can 2 different Domain users update a folder using SVN without removing the .SVN file?
For future reference...
I had this same problem with some WC's that I copied over to my new laptop's hard drive, from a file share on my old machine.
It turned out that the problem was solved by giving myself (as opposed to all domain users, or any other group) full control over the folder.
Did you check the svn service user on the win2008 machine?
Does that user have local administrator privileges and also have permission to these folders on c:?
After changing anything restart the service.
For me change folder permissions did't help, but I have update for several directories in a batch script so I solved this by
cmd -> Run as administrator -> start update script
