Though I'm famillar of how MVC works I'm a novice Laravel Dev.
After reading the installation docs, and succesfully started it's server. (i'm not using homestead) I was wondering if i could use my own web server (easyphp) to run laravel localhost instead of it's own mini web server. Can I do that without running the command php artisan serve?
You can run laravel anywhere, it's nothing special. Though as you would know you should redirect it's rootdirectory to / public which can be done by virtualization or using some htaccess file. Both are really easy to do and should work right away.

I build API project using Laravel 8, and I put my project on Git. My production server using Ubuntu Apache. I use only 1 database, and it's use on my local and production server.
I have weird problem since yesterday and make me confused. So, I push the latest commit to my Server from Local Server. Everything went well. But when I try to run my API via Postman, the results from my Local and Production server are different.
I checked manually in the files I pushed from local, everything is exactly same.
I try git status, everything OK. git pull are up to date. Here i attach the screenshoot.
Since i use laravel, i try to clear cache with php artisan cache:clear and it doesn't work.
Here i attach my Postman result:
As you can see, the result are different. I believe, there is no error with my code, It's work well on my Local server.
I try to contact my server provider, but didn't get any solution.
Anyway, this is Header from Prod Server
I'll appreciate all the answer from this thread. Thank you
Are you working on same branch in local and server? check your git branches in both.
Thank you for the answer and comment.
I already solve this problem. The problem pure from my production file and server.
first i try to restart my docker, and then run php artisan config:clear.
My Laravel app is running on docker using Linux commands on a Windows Machine. This means instead of using 'php artisan' commands, I use 'sail artisan' commands. I am able to migrate locally onto the SQL server on docker (sail artisan migrate) and am able to deploy the app onto Google Cloud (gcloud app deploy). The final bit of my puzzle piece is migrating the database onto the Google Cloud SQL server.
When I was first setting the app up, I had problems with this so I exported the SQL server, uploaded it to Google Cloud and then deployed it manually which was fine for a one-off but I now have things I would like to change about the database structure without losing all the data. I also figured it was about time I learnt to do it properly anyway.
I have attempted to use the instructions on Google's community tutorial, however, this guide presupposes the project does not yet exist whereas I am working with a pre-existing application and a pre-existing database. I tried to jump into the tutorial halfway through but I couldn't get the Cloud SQL proxy to work.
After a bit more research, I found this article which I got partway through, however, once I got to the part needing TCP or Unix sockets, neither set of commands will run without error on my Ubuntu terminal.
If anyone knows of any useful articles or has had this problem themself, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Additional Info:
Laravel Framework 8.69.0
Vue version 3.0.5
Docker Engine Community 20.10.8
SQL server 'europe-west2'
I'm not aware of anyway to run sail/artisan command line commands on GCP.
However in ./vendor/facade/ignition/src/Solutions/RunMigrationsSolution.php there is the following function
public function run(array $parameters = [])
{
Artisan::call('migrate');
}
which can be used to programmatically run migrations.
So in ./routes/web.php make a route like
Route::get('/run_migrate',
[DataController::class, 'runMigrate']
)->middleware(['auth', 'verified'])->name('run_migrate');
and in ./app/Http/Controllers/DataController.php add the function
public function runMigrate() {
Artisan::call('migrate');
}
Now after signing in as an authorised user (or if you remove the auth middleware you won't need to sign in) you can go to https://your-app-url.com/run_migrate and it will run any outstanding migrations.
To be able to do this the schema table has to exist so you will have to import your local database to start.
I want to set up the environment for my laravel project to work using a simple method. Apache is so far giving me some trouble in that the home page is not loading and throwing an error.
I have setup an Apache virtual server which is not working as expected.
No codes related to this one.
Set up the environment for my laravel project using
Perhaps someone can share their experience or advise on how to get this accomplished.
I have looked around and found only a wiki entry dealing with server migration from host to host.
Here is the setup and things I have tried:
locally I am running win 10 with XAMPP server
hosted on hostgator
Downloaded all files from live site
Did an SQL dump/import onto my local mySQL
Edited ‘exp_sites’ for paths and URLs
Edited ‘config.php’ in system folder
Result:
- can not login into backend ...that is form refreshes but no redirect. I can tell that db is being queried since since I do get error back if it is a wrong password.
Anyone has done similar setups/downloads/takve-overs of their client’s site?
Ideally, I would just like the access to CP so I can edit the settings/paths of weblogs,uploads etc.
Thanks for your time!
Are you using CI default password library for password creation? If you are using then these passwords will not work for you because this library generate server dependent passwords.
I've been searching on this but haven't found anything decisive so far.. I already have a windows WAMP server up and running and am using it for my PHP apps, I want to be able to run some small ruby scripts (to interact with a library that is not available in PHP), I don't even need Rails at this point, I just want to run ruby scripts and be able to run them from within a web browser type environment (like PHP) but I can't figure out how to do this since the "instant rails" takes the same resources of php and apache so it can't run at the same time unless I change the port but I'd rather just make it so it runs off the same apache as my PHP apps ( I don't even need a database at this point as thats all handled in my php apps).. any advice is appreciated
Seeing that you have accepted the answer from your other question: you won't be able to run a ruby TCP server on port X and Apache on the same port.
On the other hand if you decide to use Rails: Install InstantRails but don't start it. Copy the portion of Apache config (in InstantRails directory) that binds rails to Apache and edit it to handle everything under (for eample) /rails then paste it into your Apache config that runs PHP. You may have to fiddle with paths (PATH variable). This way you'll have Apache running on port X, all *.php will go to your PHP interpreter and everything under (for example) /rails will go to Rails/Ruby
