I am using Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS under windows 10 by using "Windows subsystem for Linux." I am experiencing some issues with XV6.
I set up XV6 by using the command:
git clone git://pdos.csail.mit.edu/xv6/xv6.git
sudo apt-get install libc6-dev
chmod 700 -R xv6-riscv
But when I typed in make command, I having the following issue:
***
*** Error: Couldn't find an riscv64 version of GCC/binutils.
*** To turn off this error, run 'gmake TOOLPREFIX= ...'.

gcc -c -o kernel/entry.o kernel/entry.S

Can anyone help me with this? (I am using an x64 system)
you should check this link: https://pdos.csail.mit.edu/6.828/2019/tools.html
for me I am running ubuntu, so I compiled the toolchain myself and then it works
I was running MacOS and had the same error. I solved it by updating the ~/.bashrc with:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/opt/riscv-gnu-toolchain/bin
before sourcing it or open a new interactive session. Then make qemu under xv6-riscv just ran!
So I would suggest you go back and check if you've finished each step: install toolchain, update env vars, source, and make.
For Suse you can install cross-riscv64-gccX package, where X is the gcc version
Then use
TOOLPREFIX=/usr/bin/riscv64-suse-linux-
it worked for me
I am trying to build a python (2.7) module using cygwin:
D:\Python27\python.exe setup.py build -c cygwin
However I get the following error:
running build
running build_ext
building 'mod' extension
D:\cygwin64\bin\gcc.exe -mcygwin -mdll -O -Wall -ID:\Python27\include -ID:\Python27\PC -c my_mod.c -o build\temp.win32-2.7\Release\my_mod.o
gcc: error: unrecognized command line option '-mcygwin'
error: command 'D:\\cygwin64\\bin\\gcc.exe' failed with exit status 1
What does this mean? How do I fix it?
I am trying to install the program my_mead_2.3.4 on my CentOS system.
I run
./configure --prefix=`pwd` --boostdir=/usr
and then make where I get these errors:
g++: error: /usr/lib64/lib/libboost_regex.a: No such file or directory
g++: error: /usr/lib64/lib/libboost_filesystem.a: No such file or directory
g++: error: /usr/lib64/lib/libboost_system.a: No such file or directory
g++: error: /usr/lib64/lib/libboost_serialization.a: No such file or directory
I ran yum install boost-devel, but still these files are missing.
I am new to Linux and CentOS, could you please tell me what to do here? Let me know if I should provide any additional Info.
Edit: apparently the program appends /lib to my boostdir. I don't know if this comes from the configure or the make step.
While building TensorFlow with vectorization, I get below error:
external/eigen_archive/unsupported/Eigen/CXX11/../../../Eigen/Core:248:27:
fatal error: vecintrin.h: No such file or directory compilation
terminated.
I don't see this on Ubuntu 17.04 (GCC v6.3.0), however it is appearing on Ubuntu 16.04 (GCC v5.4.0).
Is it related to GCC version? or some dependency is needed?
That file opensslv.h is requested by "make modules bzImage" when trying to compile a new kernel. I had previously done
$ sudo apt-get install update and
$ sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssl-dev
$ openssl version
OpenSSL 1.0.2g 1 Mar 2016
with no problems reported;
This is the error msg given by make modules bzImage after a few seconds:
(...)
HOSTCC scripts/sign-file
scripts/sign-file.c:23:30: fatal error: openssl/opensslv.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
scripts/Makefile.host:91: recipe for target 'scripts/sign-file' failed
make[1]: *** [scripts/sign-file] Error 1
Makefile:556: recipe for target 'scripts' failed
make: *** [scripts] Error 2
I searched google for the error message; most answers indicate that I should install openssl-dev, which I did. I also searched here for the name of the missing file but answers were not helpful.
I am doing this on ubuntu 16.04, trying to install kernel version linux 4.4.53. Previous steps (installing libncurses5-dev, make menuconfig and make localconfig) gave no problem.
