Qt Installer window title - windows

Is there any way to change the window title of installer that created by Qt installer framework?
The window title set by <Title> tag from the config.xml that concatenated with "Setup".
there is a title property for pages but it change the title of page contained inside the tab controller.

How to display Bootstrap icons in Xamarin?

I'm new to Xamarin development, but try to be exact.
Using Visual Studio 2022, with Xamarin version 17.0.0.182 (as displayed in VS About).
Found this great article on how to use Bootstrap icons, but it seems to be out of date. When I followed the steps and provided hex codes for the characters, I didn't get the expected glyiphs.
I found that
new Xamarin needs new methods,
new Bootstrap fonts need new ways.
Here they are.
1.) Get the font from the Bootstrap github repo at https://github.com/twbs/icons
Go to releases (https://github.com/twbs/icons/releases), choose latest, scroll down to Assets, download the bootstrap-icons-x.x.x.xip file.
Unzip it, and find fonts/bootstrap-icons.woff.
Not something you can use in Xamarin right away :-(
2.) Convert the woff file to ttf
I googled for a converter and used https://cloudconvert.com/woff-to-ttf
Now you have the ttf you need :-)
3.) Now follow the current Xamarin method of adding a font to your app.

In short:
add the ttf file to the shared Xamarin project, Embedded Resources / Fonts
change file properties / Build Action to "Embedded resource"
register the font by adding a line to the end of Assemblyinfo.cs:
[assembly: ExportFont("bootstrap-icons.ttf", Alias = "Bootstrap")]
4.) Use it in xaml like
<Label FontFamily="Bootstrap" Text=""/>
to display a magnifying glass.
You may also define a Label style, but I'll skip that for now.
4/b.) To use it in xaml via binding

When using a binding to display a glyph, there's one more hoop to jump, thanks to these guys for the solution: Using data binding, how do I bind text which contains emojis to a label and have it display correctly?
So, in xaml:

6.) To find the unicode character code, also referred to as "Unicode HTML Entity"
Check the name of the icon above in step 5.

Search for the name of the glyph to find the character code, something like:

Qooxdoo - how do i create a new theme and use it in the application?

I am quite new to qooxdoo and I need help in creating a custom theme for my application.
I copied the native Modern theme and modified some of its features, now my question is how do I add it as new theme to qooxdoo and how can I use it in my application?
any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
You don't need to copy it over, simply extending the theme would be good. If you created your app with the qooxdoo desktop skeleton using the create-application.py helper, you should already have a custom theme in place running and extending the modern theme. If not, you simply have to edit the config.json file which should be in your root project folder and search for a key named QXTHEME. The value of that key is a classname which specifies your theme. Change that to your custom theme class and rebuild the app to see the result.

To add a bit to Martin's answer: You don't copy and modify theme code, you extend and override, much as with class code.
If you create an application skeleton with create-application.py, the default code structure under source/class already contains custom theme classes (under source/class//theme/*). The thing is those theme classes extend from the Modern theme without actually overriding anything, so you effectively get the Modern look and feel.
But you can then go ahead and flesh out those custom theme classes, with properties that suite your taste, thereby creating your own theme.
i found it very difficult to create a custom theme by extending one of the existing native themes (classic, modern... etc) without looking at the source code, also i don't want to mess up the original API's files by modifying them, so i did the following:
1- replaced files in my application's directory: myapplication/source/class/myapplication/theme/ with the files in /qooxdoo-directory/framework/source/class/qx/theme/modern/. replaced four files in total (Appearance.js, Decoration.js, Color.js and Font.js).
2- copied decoration directory from /qooxdoo-directory/framework/source/resource/qx/decoration/Modern to my application's directory: myapplication/source/recourse/myapplication/decoration.
3- copied icons directory from qooxdoo-directory/framework/source/resource/qx/icon/Tango to my application's directory myapplication/source/resource/myapplication/icon.
4- copied Tango.js from qooxdoo-directory/framework/source/class/qx/theme/icon/Tango.js to my application's directory myapplication/source/class/myapplication/theme/icon/Icon.js.
5- edited the meta file Themes.js and changed it to:

8- corrected assets paths in Decoration.js and Appearance.js from the original path qx/decoration/Modern or qx/icon/Tango to the one relevant to my appliaction myapplication/decoration and myapplication/icon, for example:

changed to
#asset(myapplication/decoration/toolbar/toolbar-part.gif)
ps: the relative path in an application is application-name/source/resource, so you can refer to any directory in this folder by application-name/folder-name.
9- likewise in step 8 i changed aliases in decoration.js to:

decoration : "myapplication/decoration"
},
10 - ran generate.py file in myapplication/source.
and done, now i can change anything i want without crashing the API :)

Windows Phone 7 Development - Image Source Issue

While developing a project for Windows Phone 7, I'm adding an image control onto the Grid and using the following code in C# to set the image source:-

The problem is that whenever I use custom images, they do not show up when I build and run the app on the emulator. Whereas, if I change the image file name in the above code to one of the images that are included in the project by default (ApplicationIcon.png), the image shows up upon running. I would like to know if this is a problem with the code or with the custom image files I'm using. I'm ensuring that the images I'm creating are proper and have the same attributes as the images included by default.
Could someone please help me out with this.

Click on your custom picture in Visual Studio's Solution Explorer. Then, look at the property window (press F4 if it's closed), and at the "Build Action" line. It basically tells the compiler how to embed your file in the application. The build action of ApplicationIcon.png should be "Content", just set the same one for your custom pictures.

How to get an Innosetup installer package to display a non-scaled icon image (>32x32)

I've started using 'large' icons on my desktop. For a while I've also been including images > 32x32 in my Delphi Application. The result is a nice clean image display in all Windows display situtations. I know its rather picky, but i've just noticed that a compiled Innosetup package displays fuzzy - I presume its being scaled - and it occured to me that there must be a way of adding to or changing the default Innosetup image displayed for its EXE. You can see the effect in the image below. I have many icons available to me, so a solution for replacing the default icon would be great.
Ah I found it. To specify a custom icon for a setup application, use the SetupIconFile directive:

Use ApplicationBar Icons from other assemblies?

I have a Page in a Windows Phone class library. This page has an appbar. I would prefer everything this page needs to be included within the class library so the setup list for consumers of this page / assembly is minimal.
However, When I set ApplicationBar icons, they get added to the class library project under the folder 'icons' just like normal, they show up fine in Blend, but at runtime they are no where to be found!
When I put the icons in the Windows Phone Application project all is well. However this is not my desired scenario as it is additional configuration / setup by the application author to use my pages.
I tried using the resource pathing using /{AssemblyName};component/icons/{IconName} but of course the AppBar needs them to be of type "Content" not "Resource". So I am thinking this is impossible but I wanted to know if anybody out there figured out how to do this.
Sorry guys. I just figured it out. I changed the newly added icons from "Resource" to "Content" but I forgot to set "Copy if newer" so they weren't getting outputted to the Bin\Debug\icons folder of the windows Phone Application. something to keep an eye on I guess.
