please help me with my problem, i am a newbie in terms of programming i need help regarding to the URL/Routes of the admin LTE, i cannot find the routes admin LTE using, and can anyone explain what is the uses of each parameters above thanks.
I'll speak quickly and briefly:
'dashboard_url' => 'home'
dashboard_url: Here will be your main application page, will set the first page. Based on your configuration URLs, from this depends on which technology you are using to define these routes. I myself use Laravel, so I need to define my routes in routes/web.php.
'logout_url' => 'logout'
logout_url: Where you will be directed after you leave
'login_url' => 'login'
login_url: Your login page
'register_url' => 'register'
register_url: | You can set the request to GET or POST with logout_method.
| Set register_url to null if you do not want to register link. (I have not used this yet, sorry)
Example:
Here you define your routes and when using in laravel then will call according to the configurations of AdminLTE
My route
$this->group(['middleware' => ['auth'], 'namespace' => 'Admin'], function(){
$this->get('/', 'AdminController#index')->name('admin.home');
});
My index
(My logout)
<li class="user-footer">
<div class="float-left">
Perfil
</div>
<div class="float-right">
<a href="#" class="btn btn-default btn-flat"
onclick="event.preventDefault(); document.getElementById('logout-form').submit();" >
{{ trans('adminlte::adminlte.log_out') }}
</a>
<form id="logout-form" action="{{ url(config('adminlte.logout_url', 'auth/logout')) }}" method="POST" style="display: none;">
#if(config('adminlte.logout_method'))
{{ method_field(config('adminlte.logout_method')) }}
#endif
{{ csrf_field() }}
</form>
</div>
</li>

I'm trying to create a ticket management system with laravel jetstream and livewire. In the user page there's a table with all tickets that the user created. When the user clicks on the button to open one specific ticket, it should pass the id of the ticket and redirect to another page where it receives the data of that ticket he clicked, like title, message, etc..
The id is passed through the url, but my main problem is that whenever I try to display that data in the view, nothing shows, no errors either. I think that something might be wrong with my controller.
Here's my route:
Route::get('tickets.answers/{id}', [TicketsController::class, 'answers']);
The button to redirect to that specific ticket:
<a href="{{ url('tickets.answers' . '/'. $ticket->id ) }}" > <x-jet-secondary-button >
See Answer
</x-jet-secondary-button></a>
AnswersController:
public function render(Request $request)
{
$tickets = Ticket::where('id', $request->url('id'));
return view('livewire.tickets.answers', [
'tickets' => $tickets,
]);
}
And how I'm trying to display in my blade:
#foreach($tickets as $key => $ticket)
<!-- This example requires Tailwind CSS v2.0+ -->
<div class="bg-white shadow overflow-hidden sm:rounded-lg">
<div class="px-4 py-5 sm:px-6">
<h3 class="text-lg leading-6 font-medium text-gray-900">
Ticket nÂș {{$ticket->id}} - {{$ticket->title}}
</h3>
</div>
</div>
#endforeach
In your TicketsController you can fetch the id like this
public function answer(Request $request, int $id)
{
// Use the find() method, instead of where(), when searching for the primary key
$tickets = Ticket::find($id);
// .. more
}
In your routes files you specify an answer method, so use this in your TicketsController.
// See how to name a route
Route::get('tickets.answers/{id}', [TicketsController::class, 'answers'])->name('tickets.answers');
Then use the named route in your view like this:
<a href="{{ route('tickets.answers', ['id' => $ticket->id]) }}">
You can see a similar example in the Laravel docs.
Odd question here. Im using the default Auth::routes(['verify' => true]); In Laravel 6. So I register ( Custom registration form ) and all works fine ( added to database etc ) then I am taken to the verification page where it has an email link to resend. When I click this I get:
The GET method is not supported for this route. Supported methods: POST.
The View has this named routed in the link route('verification.resend')
As you can see here. Verify resend is a POST route. So GET method is not allowed. So it should be a form Post instead.
If you are using blade something like this will get you there.
<form method="POST" action="{{ route('verification.resend')) }}">
</form>
Because in laravel 6+ they added this route as a post so you can do it by below code
<a onclick="event.preventDefault(); document.getElementById('email-form').submit();">{{ __('click here to request another') }}
</a>.
<form id="email-form" action="{{ route('verification.resend') }}" method="POST" style="display: none;">
#csrf
</form>
I have a reject function in my Calendar controller but whenever I redirect to the view page it displays an error saying my route is not defined.
I've tried rearranging and renaming my route but it's still displaying the error.
Here is my form:
{!! Form::open(['url' => route('therapist.reject.appointment', $bookingRequest), 'method' => 'delete', 'onsubmit' => 'javascript:return confirm("Are you sure?")']) !!}
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-warning btn-block">Reject this appointment</button>
{{csrf_field()}}
{!! Form::close() !!}
Here are my routes. The other routes displayed are working perfectly:
Route::get('therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}', 'TherapistCalander')->name('therapist.calendar');
Route::post('therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}',
'TherapistCalander#saveAppointment')->name('therapist.book.appointment');
Route::patch('therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}',
'TherapistCalander#finishedAppointment')->name('therapist.finish.appointment');
Route::delete('therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}',
'TherapistCalander#rejectAppointment')->name('therapist.reject.appointment');
Route::delete('therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}',
'TherapistCalander#cancelAppointment')->name('therapist.cancel.appointment');
And lastly, my function:
public function rejectAppointment(Request $request, BookingRequest $bookingRequest)
{
$bookingRequest->reject();
return redirect()->back()->with('rejectStatus', true);
}
The view page where this button belongs should be able to display the buttons for rejecting and finishing, alongside the calendar view.
EDIT
Follow up question: Is it possibly because the routes are similar to one another? If so, how do I fix this?
Try to change the Reject and Cancel the url string because it is similar.
Route::delete(
'therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}/delete',
'TherapistCalander#rejectAppointment'
)->name('therapist.reject.appointment');
Route::delete(
'therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}',
'TherapistCalander#cancelAppointment'
)->name('therapist.cancel.appointment');
Change your code to
{!! Form::open(['url' => route('therapist.reject.appointment', ['bookingRequest' => $bookingRequest]), 'method' => 'delete', 'onsubmit' => 'javascript:return confirm("Are you sure?")']) !!}
{{csrf_field()}}
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-warning btn-block">Reject this appointment</button>
{!! Form::close() !!}
The route parameters are passed as an array and that should work fine. Refer doc
Can you try this code
<form action="{{ route('therapist.reject.appointment', ['bookingRequest' => $bookingRequest]) }}" method="POST">
#method('DELETE')
#csrf
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-warning btn-block">Reject this appointment</button>
</form>
UPDATE
PROBLEM FIXED
I realized since they have similar links, web.php found it confusing so it did not read this route.
That is why I changed my route from:
Route::delete('therapist-calendar/{bookingRequest}',
'TherapistCalander#rejectAppointment')->name('therapist.reject.appointment');
To this:
Route::delete('doReject/{bookingRequest}',
'TherapistCalander#rejectAppointment')->name('therapist.reject.appointment');
I have a "Logout" link in my top navigation bar. I'm wondering how I can make it so that while I'm logged in, it'll log me out when I click on it and return me to the homepage.
To be specific, what changes to which files do I make in Laravel? Also, what code do I need to write in the view, which currently contains just HTML, to trigger this?
When you run php artisan make:auth, the default app.php in Laravel 5.5 does it like this:
<a href="{{ route('logout') }}" onclick="event.preventDefault(); document.getElementById('logout-form').submit();">
Logout
</a>
<form id="logout-form" action="{{ route('logout') }}" method="POST" style="display: none;">
{{ csrf_field() }}
</form>
Edited 28/12/2019: It's work, but This answer contains a serious security issue. Please consider before using it. The Answer by Lucas Bustamante maybe a better choice. Refer to the comment section of this answer.
1) if you are using the auth scaffold that laravel contains. You can do this, in your navigation bar add this:
logout
then add this to your web.php file
Route::get('/logout', '\App\Http\Controllers\Auth\LoginController#logout');
Done. This will logout you out and redirect to homepage. To get the auth scaffold, from command line, cd into your project root directory and run
php artisan make:auth
2) add this to your navigation bar:
logout
then add this in your web.php file
Route::get('/logout', 'YourController#logout');
then in the YourController.php file, add this
public function logout () {
//logout user
auth()->logout();
// redirect to homepage
return redirect('/');
}
Done.
Read:
https://mattstauffer.co/blog/the-auth-scaffold-in-laravel-5-2
https://www.cloudways.com/blog/laravel-login-authentication/
Use the logout() method:
auth()->logout();
Or:
Auth::logout();
To log users out of your application, you may use the logout method on the Auth facade. This will clear the authentication information in the user's session.
if you want to use jQuery instead of JavaScript:
<a href="javascript:void" onclick="$('#logout-form').submit();">
Logout
</a>
<form id="logout-form" action="{{ route('logout') }}" method="POST" style="display: none;">
#csrf
</form>
As the accepted answer mentions that logging out via GET has side effects you should use the default POST route already created by Laravel auth.
Simply create a little form and submit it via link or button HTML tag:
<form action="{{ route('logout') }}" method="POST">
#csrf
<button type="submit">
{{ __('Logout') }}
</button>
</form>
If you use guard you can logout using this line of code :
Auth::guard('you-guard')->logout();
in laravel 8.x
#csrf
<x-jet-dropdown-link href="{{ route('logout') }}"
onclick="event.preventDefault();
this.closest('form').submit();">
{{ __('Logout') }}
</x-jet-dropdown-link>
</form>
I have this form in blade:
{{ Form::open(['action' => ['SearchController#searchUser'], 'method' => 'GET']) }}
{{ Form::text('q', '', ['id' => 'q', 'placeholder' => 'Enter name'])}}
{{ Form::submit('Search', array('class' => 'button expand')) }}
{{ Form::close() }}
How can I translate it into html?
If you're using Laravel 5.2, you must install HTML and Form as module.
follow these steps and it must be rendered your code:
https://laravelcollective.com/docs/5.2/html
If you are new to Laravel and feel its confusing with all those syntax you can use normal HTML that you already know. Its not a compulsion to use Laravel's blade shortcut.So something like
<form action="SearchController#searchUser" method="get">
//All your inputs
</form>
And to use form in your project you have to get a facade. You can follow the tutorial below :
