I just recently tried to extract a .zip file that contains a android-studio project from my usb key. I moved the .zip file on my desktop and then used the 'extract-all' from windows. During the extract, I get this message:
Now If I would change the name of the class, it would probably give me errors when I build gradle. Is there a way to simply override this error message ? Is this a windows issue or is it an android-studio problem (naming files too long)?
So far, I've tried extracting each file but it didn't work. I've also tried it on other computers and its the same result... Any ideas on how to proceed ?
Try using 7zip link, this will likely solve your problem!

I took over an application from a coworker that was let go and I can't figure out where this file copy process happens. When I build the solution there's an error when it tries to copy files from the solution to a network drive. I searched the code for the file copy commands and didn't find anything and there's nothing in the build events.
Where else should I look for this file copy?
The file copy was in the build events in a second project I didn't think to check.
I am getting this warning a couple of times stating that the library directory is not found. I've tripled check the directory, and IT IS THERE. I tried to clean the project but still didn't work.
The strange thing is, when I remove the library(The whole folder) and copy-paste a new one, it will work - What I mean here is I deleted the source file from the main directory of the project and copy-paste a new one from another directory, then I will add the files to the project.
But after building a project for a couple of times without editing the directory or the contents of the library, this error will happen again.
It's like, when I fix this problem, it will be OK for now, but when I rebuild the project next time without editing anytime, the error will occur again.
I am not sure if this case has something to do with path containing spaces.
Instead of copying and pasting the directory you should: File > Add Files ... to your project. Xcode is likely losing the reference to it because the files are not "added" to the project.
I solved this problem by removing the space within the directory name. My directory name before was Name Name, Then I changed to NameName. Now the problem is gone. It's really strange, I don't think spacing would produce such problem.
My solution contains two projects. Both have been renamed from 'LearnUmbraco.*' to 'OnceUpon.'
The solution builds fine, however when trying to publish via FTP, the error occurs:
Error Copying file obj\Debug\LearnUmbraco.csprojResolveAssemblyReference.cache to obj\Release\Package\PackageTmp\obj\Debug\LearnUmbraco.csprojResolveAssemblyReference.cache failed. Could not find file 'obj\Debug\LearnUmbraco.csprojResolveAssemblyReference.cache'. 0 0 OnceUpon.WebUI
If I look in my obj/Debug folder i do indeed have a ResolveAssemblyReference.cache however it is obviously prefixed with ;OnceUpon.**.'.
Where/how is this file generated. I'd like to change the configuration so it looks for the renamed version.
Many thanks
Found the issue. Close the solution and open the csproj file. The old references were still in there.
I am trying to build a cordova app I have build in Netbeans. It fails every time and I have been able to google the problems and solve them. Now I have come to a problem I cannot fix. I am building my app with gradle, with the command:
gradlew clean build
I get the following error:
(path to cordova project)\platforms\android\build\intermediates\res\debug\xml\desktop.ini:1: error: Error parsing XML: syntax error
The problem is that windows automatically creates the desktop.ini file, when new folders are created, and this causes some problems.
I have tried to disable the creation of the desktop.ini file by adding this key to the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"UseDesktopIniCache"=dword:00000000
It does not work and the desktop.ini file is still created.
Does anyone know how i can get around this? Can the creation of desktop.ini be disabled? Or can I get gradle to ignore desktop.ini?
I had to search the desktop.ini in the Application/src/main/res and Application/build folders and delete all to build the project. You may have to remove indexing of search results in windows to get the hidden desktop.ini files in the folder.
I made a huge mistaking in renaming my xml file from xcode and I'm not sure how to fix it. My app has a feature that reads all local xml files built with the project. So now it is reading 2 of the same xmls with different names.
I tried deleting the file, added it back in, and Dereferencing it but no luck. I also made sure to delete my app and re building the project. When I do a full system scan for the xml file nothing pops up. The xml file is currently in the Trash.
Another issue might have been with the svn remote server but I tried svn rm --delete filename and it said the file does not exist. ( I tried the project directory as well as a few other sub directories).
Is there a way to Dereference/delete the file from the project?
