Flickering Zuul TimeoutExceptions using #EnableZuulProxy with spring boot and eureka - spring-boot

Question

I have a simple Zuul Proxy to use as gateway for two services. The services are always awailable. If I access them directly, no Problem. But when I access them through Zuul, it may or may not work. In some cases I get a HTTP 500 response when calling a service. It really get's me mad. Sometimes the services are reached, sometimes not, half a second later it works for next view minutes and then again...
Error is the following:

It looks like Hystrix timeout inside Zuul.
The default is just 1000ms.
Try to increase the timeout value like below.

Note : Even though you are using semaphore isolation that is default in zuul, you should use the above property exactly including thread.
