Compare column of csv in java - sorting

I'm reading a csv file with my 'CsvReader' like this:
public class CsvReader {
public static void main(String[] args) {
Map<String,Employee> empl = new HashMap <String,Employee>();
String csvFile= "C:/Users/rapurohi/Desktop/employee.csv";
BufferedReader br=null;
String line= "";
String csvSplitBy=",";
try{
br=new BufferedReader(new FileReader(csvFile));
while ((line =br.readLine())!=null){
String [] employee=line.split(csvSplitBy);
Employee e=new Employee(employee[0], employee[1], employee[2]);
empl.put((employee[0]),e);
System.out.println("Employee[id="+employee[0]+"name="+employee[1]+"salary="+employee[2]+"]" );
}
}catch (FileNotFoundException|IOException e){
e.printStackTrace();
}
}finally{
if(br!=null){
try{
br.close();
}catch(IOException e){
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
}
}
The csv i'm using looks like this:
empid,name,salary
"456","John","4000"
"457","James","5000"
"458","Jack","3000"
"459","Jenny","6000"
The dataVO for employee looks like
package com.cg.dto;
public class Employee {
String empId;
String empName;
String empSalary;
public String getEmpId() {
return empId;
}
public void setEmpId(String empId) {
this.empId = empId;
}
public String getEmpName() {
return empName;
}
public void setEmpName(String empName) {
this.empName = empName;
}
public String getEmpSalary() {
return empSalary;
}
public void setEmpSalary(String empSalary) {
this.empSalary = empSalary;
}
public Employee(String empId, String empName, String empSalary) {
super();
this.empId = empId;
this.empName = empName;
this.empSalary = empSalary;
}
I need to find the maximum salary and write the entry in a Csv file as output.

Assuming you only need help with finding the maximum salary, here's a quick example:
int maxSal = 0;
Employee highestPayedEmployee = null;
for (Employee employee : empl.values()) {
if(employee.getSalary() > maxSal){
maxSal = employee.getSalary();
highestPayedEmployee = employee;
}
}
This assumes that your Employee class has a getSalary() method that returns the salary as a number.
If needed you can convert a string to a number with:
Integer.parseInt(salaryString);

Checkmarx: Unsafe object binding

We are using Java Spring framework. We have an endpoint for passing email object.
#RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.POST, path = "/api/messaging/v1/emailMessages/actions/send")
String sendEmail(#RequestBody Email email);
Here checkmarx says: The email may unintentionally allow setting the value of cc in LinkedList<>, in the object Email.
Email Object is as follow:
public class Email {
private List<String> bcc = new LinkedList<>();
private List<String> cc = new LinkedList<>();
private String content;

I don't understand these findings, how to solve this.
I have added Lombok with #Getter & #Setter annotation to resolve this issue.

How to export huge result set from database into several csv files and zip them on the fly?

I need to create a REST controller which extracts data from a database and write it into CSV files that will ultimately be zipped together. Each CSV file should contain exactly 10 lines. Eventually all CSV files should be zipped into a one zip file. I want everything to happen on the fly, meaning - saving files to a temporary location on the disk is not an option. Can someone provide me with an example?
I found a very nice code to export huge amount of rows from database into several csv files and zip it.
I think this is a nice code that can assist alot of developers.
I have tested the solution and you can find the entire example at : https://github.com/idaamit/stream-from-db/tree/master
The conroller is :
#GetMapping(value = "/employees/{employeeId}/cars") #ResponseStatus(HttpStatus.OK) public ResponseEntity<StreamingResponseBody> getEmployeeCars(#PathVariable int employeeId) {
log.info("Going to export cars for employee {}", employeeId);
String zipFileName = "Cars Of Employee - " + employeeId;
return ResponseEntity.ok()
.header(HttpHeaders.CONTENT_TYPE, "application/zip")
.header(HttpHeaders.CONTENT_DISPOSITION, "attachment;filename=" + zipFileName + ".zip")
.body(
employee.getCars(dataSource, employeeId));
The employee class, first checks if we need to prepare more than one csv or not :
public class Employee {
public StreamingResponseBody getCars(BasicDataSource dataSource, int employeeId) {
StreamingResponseBody streamingResponseBody = new StreamingResponseBody() {
#Override
public void writeTo(OutputStream outputStream) throws IOException {
JdbcTemplate jdbcTemplate = new JdbcTemplate(dataSource);
String sqlQuery = "SELECT [Id], [employeeId], [type], [text1] " +
"FROM Cars " +
"WHERE EmployeeID=? ";
PreparedStatementSetter preparedStatementSetter = new PreparedStatementSetter() {
public void setValues(PreparedStatement preparedStatement) throws SQLException {
preparedStatement.setInt(1, employeeId);
}
};
StreamingZipResultSetExtractor zipExtractor = new StreamingZipResultSetExtractor(outputStream, employeeId, isMoreThanOneFile(jdbcTemplate, employeeId));
Integer numberOfInteractionsSent = jdbcTemplate.query(sqlQuery, preparedStatementSetter, zipExtractor);
}
};
return streamingResponseBody;
}
private boolean isMoreThanOneFile(JdbcTemplate jdbcTemplate, int employeeId) {
Integer numberOfCars = getCount(jdbcTemplate, employeeId);
return numberOfCars >= StreamingZipResultSetExtractor.MAX_ROWS_IN_CSV;
}
private Integer getCount(JdbcTemplate jdbcTemplate, int employeeId) {
String sqlQuery = "SELECT count([Id]) " +
"FROM Cars " +
"WHERE EmployeeID=? ";
return jdbcTemplate.queryForObject(sqlQuery, new Object[] { employeeId }, Integer.class);
}
}
This class StreamingZipResultSetExtractor is responsible to split the csv streaming data into several files and zip it.

The class StreamingCsvResultSetExtractor is responsible for transfer the data from the resultset into csv file. There is more work to do to handle special character set which are problematic in csv cell.

How to import data from csv to elasticsearch in java without using logstash?

I want to import data from a csv file to elasticsearch. But I don't want to use logstatsh. So, what are the ways I can do this ?
Any blogs ? Docs ?
I came across TransportClient, but I'm not getting the point from where to start .
Thanks in advance.
very late answer, however :) ….This is for elasticsearch 7.6.0

Retrieve a user's id and keep it as long as the session is active in jsf

I have a web application in jsf where I would retrieve the id of the user for reuse in other managedbeans.
Each user has a session that is created as soon as it is autehtification the data are stored in a Mysql DB. I would like to retrieve and keep the id of the user store as long as the session is active. Can you help me please?

Regarding DataControl in adf

I am developing an ADF web application with Oracle EBS as the backend to call the procedure(Jdeveloper 12 c).
I have invoked a method calling EBS procedure (return type is list) and the result is stored in arraylist. the list is used to create Data control.
What my problem is i have set values to the data control but when i added that dc to view it shows nothing. But on debugging it shows all the values are set in the array list.
