In our botframework chatbot application we have URLs ( buttons - OpenURL) which will redirect to website / mobile apps links. How we will be able to get the statistics or number of hits happened to a particular website URL.
Thank you
AMR
This is not possible in the bot. The "OpenUrl" protocol tells the channel to just open the link on the button. This doesn't trigger a message so the bot will not know that the button was clicked.
The only solution I can think of is creating a special url which will first log the action and then redirect the user to the requested webpage. But this solution requires you to setup your own website or api.

We have a published app in the Teams App Store.
Our app supports task module.
It worked just fine but about a month ago we started to receive reports from our costumers that when they are trying to open a task module, teams app just freezes.
This is how i understand task module requests work, in 4 steps:
1. User clicks on the button with data {"msteams": {"type": "task/fetch"}}`,
2. Teams sends request with this data to the bot.
3. Bot handles the data.
4. Bot replies with the appropriate url to render.
So we tested what happens when we click on the task/fetch button.
First of all we saw an error in the teams console:
TaskModuleLaunchService: launchTaskModuleByInvoke failed: "could not find app definition for app 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" where *00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000* is out appID.
And we don't receive any requests from the teams on the bot's side. So basically we have an issue on the step #1.
Unfortunately, we couldn't reproduce this on our devices, using the same card with the exact same button.
How can we fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I've been using the next URL to redirect any user to their private chat with our MS Teams App:
https://teams.microsoft.com/l/chat/0/0?users=28:b9cc7986-dd56-4b57-ab7d-9c4e5288b775
with b9cc7986-dd56-4b57-ab7d-9c4e5288b775 being the App Id of out bot (sample App Id in this case).
This URL will open the private MS Teams Chat with the user clicking the URL and our App on any client (Mobile, Desktop, Browser) without opening any web pages if not needed. The clients can handle the URL themselves. You can try it with this provided sample URL.
What would be a proper way to be able to redirect to a group conversation or thread?
I've thought about using the Conversation Id (or other Ids available in our MS Teams App) or something but couldn't find any good documentation or examples online.
You can use Deep Links to accomplish that, specifically deep linking to a chat. As shown in that link, you can link to specific users, but also set a conversation topic as well as an initial message. One thing that's often overlooked, just fyi, is this sentence:
New chats are created in draft state until the user sends the first message
I am working on a slack app that can be installed in any channel. It is possible or is there any slack method that allows you to open the slack app home tab from the channel. I mean a method that can navigate the user from the channel to the slack app home-tab
Send a slack message to users with #appname. For example "Click here to open the #ACME Dashboard" (assuming "ACME Dashboard" is the name of your app). #ACME Dashboard will turn into a clickable link that jumps to the app home page. It'll also add the app for users that haven't already added the app.
At least, this worked for me in limited testing with myself and one other person, so I hope it works for you. I haven't tried to figure it out, but I'm sure there's a way to send the '#app name' as part of a message from the API.
I have an adaptive card and I want to add a button that has call functionality to a specific person in this card "the person is in my organization microsft team". How can I create a call via deeplink to audio call?
Edit:
This link will redirect to the chat window with the user:
https://teams.microsoft.com/l/chat/0/0?users=
How can I do the same but for audio/ video calls?
You will need to implement calling in your Bot to be able to make audio calls using Bot. Please go through Calling and Meeting Bot overview. Here are few samples to try out.
https://github.com/microsoftgraph/microsoft-graph-comms-samples/tree/master/Samples/V1.0Samples/LocalMediaSamples
Here is the equivalent link for calls:
https://teams.microsoft.com/l/call/0/0?users=user#domain.ext
And if you're not worried about users who don't have the Teams app installed, you can try:
msteams://teams.microsoft.com/l/call/0/0?users=user#domain.ext
This latter link will not go through the browser. It will however pop up a message requesting permission to open the app. Choose your poison.
I have a requirement of maintaining chat history and loading them back in a window after a page refresh or close and opening of the window.
ISSUE : Buttons/carousel/Adaptive cards/Hero Cards events/ properties are not loading (ie; when I click on button or any event, actions are not happening).
DESCRIPTION:
In order to achieve the requirement i had 2 options.
BotFramework _ Directline JS
I guess using this we can only get conversation history and where we couldn't load back the conversation history in chat window.
Though we can get the conversation history we have to send all the messages to bot again.
So i had opted 2nd one.
Store the html controls and Load it in the bot div: When sending or receiving message action is happening from bot am storing the html controls(i.e; controls under wc-message-groups class in local storage) and binding back to the div on page load if data exists.
This works for me to show conversation history in a chat window. But I am not able to get the events/actions for buttons.
Can we do this with Directline JS or is there any option to load properties/events to controls?
Please help me with this issue.
Thanks in Advance
I would start by taking a look at this thread out the Webchat GitHub repo. There is a good discussion going on about how this may be accomplished.
I also created this project in C# using webchat which will provide chat history in the webchat control. The project uses this pull request branch which you would also need to use. Hope this helps, good luck.
