Disable Tango Tablet Updates - google-project-tango

We are shipping an app, which be on the Google Tango Tablet and made in Unity, within the coming weeks. We would like to lock down the current version of Tango on the tablet, since we have the application in a good state with the Hopak Version (version 1.53) release in May . How do we disable the tablet from automatically updating the Tango version on the Tablet?

You need to stop the updates of the Tango Core application.
The process to disable the updates is detailed in this wiki
Just in case, I would also do a backup of this application with the following command:
adb backup -apk com.google.tango

Showing on which device an app release is installed in Google Play Store?

I have released an application as an internal test. I have seen that one device (about 14.28% of all devices) has an old release installed. Now I would like to find out the device. Is it possible to get more information about the devices which installed an app release? (e.g. device name or something like that)? And how often are the release details for internal tests updated in the Google developer console?

Force Android 10 security and Google Play system update

Using Android Management for our dedicated devices with kiosk launcher.
With Android 10 the Android security patch level and Google Play system update version is inconsistent between devices. Some of the devices with an older Google Play system update of Sep 2019 have an issue with Bluetooth connection cache - this seems to be resolved in the Feb 2020 version of the Google Play system update when I manually force them to update.
Is there a way to force these to update or otherwise control the version? They don't seem to ever update on their own.
For system updates in kiosk mode, it is highly recommended using SystemUpdate with SystemUpdateType: WINDOWED in your policy.
Here is an example:
"systemUpdate": {
"type": "WINDOWED",
"startMinutes": 120,
"endMinutes": 420
}
There are no additional controls for the Android security patch level and the Google Play Services update. The patch level varies by OEM and Carrier, and Google Play Services updates roll out to all devices over time.

Flutter migration from Windows to Mac

I have developed a Flutter Mobile application on Windows 10 environment. I am using Firebase with services like Firestore, push notifications, storage and Authentication.
I have not done anything for IOS so far. I am planning to have a Mac machine in cloud and start the IOS related changes there. I have below questions.
I want to have my code at both the places synced so that I can work on windows and Mac. Is there any way to do that securely?
What editor I should use on Mac for IOS and Android development?
Also what are the other things I need to take care?
Thank you in Advance
for syncing:
git, period! Flutter will take care of the rest
for IDE:
we swear by Intellij as you will need it if you decide to port an android version of your app. With Intellij you can even sync plugins & IDE settings across multiple PCs

Speech recognition and synthesis sample doesn't work when deployed on IoT version 10.0.10586

On the newest version of Windows IoT, the Speech recognition and synthesis sample stopped working. Continuous dictation (number 7 in the menu), goes Idle right away once I press "Dictate" button.
Microphone permission is on, and everything stayed the same from the 10.0.10240 release which worked perfect.
Note that it only doesn't work when deployed to Minnow Board or Dragon Board, but works locally on the Windows PC.
Any idea on what could cause that? I've tested multiple times and when I revert back to 10.0.10240 it starts working again, but it doesn't work on the newest release.

How can I test app on older iPhone 3G with iOS v 4.2.1

I have been testing my app on my iPhone 4S and my wife's iPhone 3GS. I would also like to test it on the older iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1 (the highest version it will support).
When I connect the 3G to my Mac and attempt to provision it, I get two error messages:
Could Not Support Development
and
Xcode cannot find the software image to install this version
I am using the latest version of xCode (v. 4.4.1).
Is there some place to find the missing 'software image' in order to test my app on the 3G and older iOS devices?
If not, how does one know what devices the app will work with?
I do note that the newer iPhones that run iOS5 and above also support Automatic Reference Counting (ARC). I have checked the ARC button whenever I created a new project. Does one have to abandon ARC if one wants their app to work on an older pre iOS5-capable device?

I believe you can download it through iTunes by clicking restore in the device's summary page and then searching for the *.ipsw file. iTunes might even share the image once it is downloaded automatically.

Not in entirety. iOS 4.2 supports the vast majority of ARC, But it does not support weak references.
Also, there are a few hoops you must jump through to target. I have an answer here that outlines them (with screenshots).
I know for a fact that Xcode 4.4.1 can use an iOS 4.2.1 device as a target, since I can test on a second generation iPod touch running 4.2.1.
Finally, If you are not able to obtain a software image, you could try adding your device by UDID directly on the provisioning portal through developer.apple.com.(The old fashioned way)
