I have created a VSTO Excel Addin and deployed it via Visual Studio Installer. Now I want to update the deployed addin. I have tried to change Product code, Upgrade code & version in Project Properties of Visual Studio Installer Project but it does not update the installation. How i can update the installation ?
You must not change the upgrade code, that will break your upgrade process.
You must increase the version and change the product code for a major upgrade. Read the linked MSDN article for more details.

First of all, this issue has nothing to do with the installation of SSDT. I have the lastest version installed, at the time of writting this.
My issue is that the SSIS package was written some time ago using, I think either VS2005 or VS2008 as I was using Windows 7 with the lastest SSDT package fro the time, and I now need to open it up to view the workings.
I am now using VS2019 on Windows 10, again with the latest SSDT package, and studio refuses to open the project.

I have found the answer and it had nothing to do with the SSDT installed.

It explains the need to make sure that the SSIS Extension is enables. In my case it needed to be installed.
This occurred because I had installed various versions of SSDT which caused Visual Studio to need me to reinstall.
I have just updated my Visual Studio to the version 16.8.5.
I create some add-in for Office and distribute them via ClickOnce to my organization. When I opened my solutions, the setup projects are not supported anymore because incompatible.
I tried to add a new setup project but I can't find any.
How can I create setup now?
For same reason, I must reinstall the plugin Microsoft Visual Studio Installer Projects although the plugin is installed and activated.
I think I was using visual studio 2017 and wrote a SSIS package. Now I installed visual studio 2019 and can't open the solution file. Error:

it is installed at the installation interface, but doesn't exist in extension manager:
SSIS is a seperate extension now in Visual Studio 2019. You can install that extension in Visual Studio market place. Choose Online tab and search for "SQL Server Integration Services Projects".Hope it can help your problem
1.Extensions -> Microsoft Reporting Service Project
2.and then close visual studio
3.VSIX installer will complete automatically
4.If your project unloaded, right click on project and reload
Today I faced this issue,
Cause
The reason for issue is,
I saw a yellow bg notification at the top of IDE showing performance issue , with option to "disable this" to improve the performance.
I chose disable, later next day when I opened the project, It showed the project is not compatible.
I did Repair SSIS, Uninstall and Reinstall SSIS, and also updated the SSIS to latest version. None of these 3 ways resolved the issue.
Solution
But, I found Manage Extension submenu item under Extension menu, Under installed tab, SSIS extension was in disabled status. I reverted to Enabled status. Sample screenshot of the same for reference is here. If it disabled, simply enable it. Then restart VS with SSIS project.
Enabling the SSIS in manage extensions solved this for me.

Close Visual Studio and then run the download
When finished, open your existing SSIS project and right-click the project and select "Reload" or "Reload with dependancies"
You can also now start a new Integration Services project.
Im creating an msi project, where I want msi to fetch the installed Visual Studio version(2010/2012/2013/2015) during installation in progress. I want that data to bind a custom installation dialog so that user can select on which Visual Studio they would like to proceed the installation.
You would need to use Custom Actions to detect what versions/editions of Visual Studio installed on the users computer. You would need to check certain registry keys as described in this article: HOWTO: Detect installed Visual Studio editions, packages or service packs. After your CA detected the versions you may populate the list in the dialog for user to choose.
I have installed VS2012 Ultimate on a fresh PC. I tried adding the Crystal Reports file in my project but there is no crystal report .crt Item avaliable into Add New Item menu of the VS2012
Is there a version for VS2012? or do I have to install an extra setup file for crystal reports which is redundant since I already have VS2012 installed.

To integrate “SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio” you must run the Install Executable. Running the MSI will not fully integrate Crystal Reports into VS. MSI files by definition are for runtime distribution only.

This post is right from SAP on Sep 20, 2012.
In short, they are still working on a release of Crystal Reports that will support VS2012 (including support for Windows 8) It will come in the form of a service pack release that updates the version currently supporting VS2010. At that time they will drop 2010/2012 from the name and simply call it Crystal Reports Developer.

I would also add that I am currently using Visual Studio 2012. As long as you don't edit existing reports they continue to compile and work fine. Even on Windows 8. When I need to modify a report I can still open the project with VS2010, do my work, save my changes, and then switch back to 2012. It's a little bit of a pain but the ability for VS2010 and VS2012 to co-exist is nice in this regard. I'm also using TFS2012 and so far it hasn't had a problem with me modifying files in 2010 on a "2012" solution.
There is also someone who managed to modify CR for VS.NET 2010 to install on 2012, using MS ORCA in this thread: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3235515 . I couldn't get it to work myself, though.
"SP25 work on Visual Studio 2019" is an exaggeration. It is extremely unreliable and should be avoided at all costs. I currently have to maintain a second development environment with V2015 for report development.
