TortoiseGit - launch repobrowser command produces "no working directory found" - tortoisegit

From the command line I am attempting to open the repobrowser by using the following command:
TortoiseGitProc.exe /command:repobrowser
Once the command is executed a dialog displaying "No working directory found." is displayed. I have even tried pointing to where I think the repo is by the following:
TortoiseGitProc.exe /command:repobrowser /path:"http://domain.here.com/" /notempfile
This produces the same error. I have done something similar using TortoiseSVN which brings up a URL dialog box.
I have looked in the settings to see if a path may be set for temporary files, but I didn't find any. Why is this error happening and how do I correct it?
Thanks.

With (Tortoise)Git it is not possible view a remote repository in the repository browser w/o cloning it first.
TortoiseGitProc.exe /command:repobrowser w/o the /path: parameter only works if the current directory is a working tree or (bare) local repository.

Xcode Can't Commit Files to Github

I am trying to commit to my local repository but it keeps saying "The working copy “Project” failed to commit files.
warning: unable to access '/Users/me/.config/git/attributes': Permission denied"
I tried this Unable to access 'git/attributes'
It worked for a while but after about an hour of working on my project the error comes back.
I don't know if this is related but some storyboard files are randomly marked for Deletion (with the D beside their file name) when trying to commit.
Sicne that .config folder is supposed to be owned by the user, check, whenever you see again this error:
the new owner of that .config folder (to see of it is root)
the process running at that time (like a local BitBucket server running as root),
or your command history (to see if it involved a command like sudo htop)

Xcode is not showing changes for files on SVN

We're using svn for version control on our Mac. Its working cool. But the only problem is we're multiple devs developing together and everyone can see any file changes status inside their Xcode ( attributes next to the file ) in their Xcode except me. How to resolve this?
This is what I want (see "M" next to the file name),
Even Xcode Source Control Menu is showing no changes.
I'm not sure if there's anything to set here?
I have checkout the code again and again, but still the problem persist.
I'm not sure, why this "Working Copies" menu "iOS" is disabled? Its enabled on other machine.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
I also encountered this problem, the following is my solution, hope I can help you.
Start the terminal, enter the code in the folder.
Type the command - svn status.
The output will be similar to this
svn: E155036: Please see the 'svn upgrade' command
svn: E155036: The working copy at '/Users/chao/svn/project'
is too old (format 29) to work with client version '1.9.4 (r1740329)' (expects
format 31). You need to upgrade the working copy first.
Type the command - svn upgrade.
The problem is resolved,I wish you good luck.
SVN can define status of working copy files and directories comparing your local files with the current repository located on the remote SVN server.
I believe that checking "Refresh server status automatically" will do the job.
You can say this is true when your local files will have attributes aside (U, M etc)
Having no luck, you may run the command line tool, which is usually more verbose. More details here: https://stackoverflow.com/a/19922150/195812

Need help setting up a git server on windows

i'm trying to set up a git server on Windows, but i'm having some issues getting it all to work.
I have locally created a normal repository, and remotely i created a bare repository. On the local repository i added a single text file and committed it, but when I try to push it into the remote repository I always get the following message:
fatal: protocol error: bad line length character: fata
I searched SO and other sources, and most of them suggest it's an issue regarding command echos. I'm using freeSSHd as a SSH solution (remote repository is hosted on a windows server), and I tried to use both the git bash and the windows CMD as a command shell.
I start CMD with /Q to disable echoing and /K to change directory to a directory where repositories are located, so I don't think that would be a problem.
Using the remote desktop, i can clone the repository to a folder next to it, and using the git bash locally i can access the SSH shell and also clone the repository in the same way. But using git clone ssh://<address>:/myRepo.git I always get the above message (The SSH's working folder is the same where the repository is located). Does anyone have any idea what's going on? How can I see what command is triggering the error, and how can I see the full error message?
I also met the same error using freeSSHd as a ssh solution for git server on Windows. I couldn't find a solution for a whole day and gave up. :(
Later I found another powerful ssh server from Bitvise called WinSSHD worked well. It has free version for personal use. I suggest you to switch to it. Though I'd also like to know if there's a fix to the error we both met.
To setup ssh server with WinSSHD is quite simple, and you can add virtual accounts with private/public key access.
The key part is to setup the ssh access for git server. Please follow the steps of the blog here.
It should work well for Windows git client. For Mac, you may meet an error as follows.
grp.sh: No such file or directory
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.
To fix it, you need to create the two files gup.sh and grp.sh in your git bin directory (GIT_PATH/bin or GIT_PATH/libexec/git-core configured in system environment variable PATH) in your git server.
The content of gup.sh:
git-upload-pack.exe $*
The content of grp.sh:
git-receive-pack.exe $*

Tortoise Bazaar commit password

I've recently set up a Bazaar repo on my FTP server (only access I have to back end, please don't go into reasons why I shouldn't use FTP).
I have managed to get everything working with short cuts such that I can include user and pass in the ftp URL:
ftp://"user":pass#host/path
Though I am trying to set up script that I can commit from a local directory with a batch file. The issue is I still require to put in the password everytime.
bzr commit "E:\Ryan - Backup\Other\test" -m batched
I had a crack at using the authentication.conf file but it either didn't work for me in this situation or I was doing it wrong. I placed the file in the .bzr folder so it was located at:
E:\Ryan - Backup\Other\Test\.bzr\authentication.conf
With the contents being:
# Identity on foo.net
[site]
scheme=ftp
host=site
user=username
password=pass
Am I doing something wrong or would I have to create a plugin to do what I am after.
P.S End result was to run a batch at startup and shut down so I could sync file updates between my computers.
UPDATE: I also tried the
guide that describes the location of:
C:\Users\rfleming\AppData\Roaming\bazaar\2.0
for the authetication.conf file, this didn't work either
UPDATE 2: Placing the authentication.conf into the:
C:\Users\rfleming\AppData\Roaming\bazaar\2.0
Worked fine and I just ended up using checkout and push for syncing and no manually password typing was required!

Jenkins osx "cannot run program"

I installed Jenkins om my Snow Leopard laptop. I assigned the user "jenkins" to it's home dir etc. Next, I basically followed this tutorial.
Now, when I run a build, I get an error:
/Users/Shared/Jenkins/Home/jobs/projectname/workspace/build.xml:78: Execute failed: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "phpmd": error=2, No such file or directory
Also, he gives the same errors for phploc etc.
When I run phpmd on the commandline, everything is fine. Also when I login as user jenkins with "su jenkins" and I try to run the command on the command line, everything is fine too.
I believe the problem is that Jenkins is unable to find the command. Probably because it's not in the /usr/bin dir? I added a .bash_profile file with the export path to /usr/local/bin, but even that doesn't make a difference. So, anyone know what exactly the problem is?
You can see the environment variables (including the PATH) under "System Information" on the page of the slave. You can adjust these variables as well as set tool locations on the slave configuration page. To get to those pages, click on the name of a slave on the main page.
I tried to set the PATH environment variable as described above, ie
"manage nodes"->"[node]"->"configure"
and then "name" PATH and "value" /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin
For some reason this did not work - I visited "manage nodes"->"[node]"->"system info"
and the PATH value had not changed and the job continued to not work.
This was with version 1.462 and slave.jar 2.13.
My workaround was to set an explicit path for the tool (git in my case) in the "tool locations" section of the node configuration page.
I kindly suggest to replace your phpmd command by a "echo $PATH" so you can see what's in the PATH in the context where you are starting phpmd.
