spring-cloud-consul is not compatible with spring-boot-2.0.0.M1 - spring-boot

It seems that current release of spring-cloud-consul(which is 1.2.2-snapshot at this moment) is not compatible with spring-boot-2.0.0.M1.
As a new comer of microservice, i'm trying to integrate consul into my project to support service registry, but the project failed to start after I insert the consul starter into the pom.xml.
All right, here comes the sample code:
//DemoApplication.java
#SpringBootApplication
#EnableDiscoveryClient
public class DemoApplication {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(DemoApplication.class, args);
}
}
//pom.xml
<parent>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-parent</artifactId>
<version>1.5.4.RELEASE</version> <!-- evertything works fine -->
<!--<version>2.0.0.M1</version>--> <!-- project fail to start -->
<relativePath/> <!-- lookup parent from repository -->
</parent>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.cloud</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-cloud-starter-consul-all</artifactId>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
....some other irrelevant configs
//application.properties
spring.cloud.consul.port = 8500
spring.cloud.consul.host = localhost
As above code shows, everything works fine if using spring-boot-1.5.4.RELEASE, while it failed to start project when using spring-boot-2.0.0.M1, with complain of following:
13:52:15.444 [main] ERROR org.springframework.boot.SpringApplication - Application startup failed

Any suggestions about the reason?

Whenever I try to connect /health,/Info or /metrics endpoint by typing http://localhost:8080/health, the HTTP request transfers to http://localhost:8080/showMyLoginPage. I cannot reach endpoint. How can I solve this? Thanks in advance.
Edit -1
Mr. Fatih demands me to observe the result "http://localhost:8080/actuator" and this picture reveals: the picture
Here is the console output of the application:

Edit-2
The problem is partly solved. The actuators are available after the login of the application. But the problem is, after the login page, the homepage appears. All actuators are working, however, whenever I hit http://localhost:8080/actuator/health URL, {"status":"DOWN"} appears at the screen. Here is the console output taken during this operation:

Edit-3
Mr Fatih pointed out some of the changes at the WebSecurityConfiguration. I have changed the code and I am getting this error:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: permitAll only works with either
HttpSecurity.authorizeRequests() or
HttpSecurity.authorizeHttpRequests(). Please define one or the other
but not both.
Here is the change I've made:
/*
* import section have omitted for brevity
*/
#Configuration
#EnableWebSecurity
public class DemoSecurityConfig {
/*
* other codes have omitted for brevity
*/
#Bean
public SecurityFilterChain filterChain(HttpSecurity http) throws Exception {
http.authorizeHttpRequests(
(authz) -> authz.antMatchers("/actuator/**").permitAll().anyRequest().authenticated());
http.authorizeRequests(
configurer -> configurer.antMatchers("/**").hasRole("ADMIN").antMatchers("/**").hasRole("USER"))
.formLogin(configurer -> configurer.loginPage("/showMyLoginPage")
.loginProcessingUrl("/authenticateTheUser").permitAll())
.logout(configurer -> configurer.permitAll())
.exceptionHandling(configurer -> configurer.accessDeniedPage("/access-denied"));
return http.build();
}
}
Here is the console output: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CtjRBHXVRqirZ0Vt_3FEhx_N9oEwyfFZ/view
You are using the spring-security package for application security. So when you want to access your /actuator endpoints, you need to log in first. If you want to access your /actuator endpoints without logging in, you must configure a security configuration. With the following configuration, you can exclude all endpoints starting with /actuator from security.
#EnableWebSecurity
#Configuration
public class WebSecurityConfiguration extends WebSecurityConfigurerAdapter {
#Override
protected void configure(HttpSecurity http) throws Exception {
http.authorizeRequests().antMatchers("/actuator/**").permitAll().anyRequest().authenticated();
}
}
Since WebSecurityConfigurerAdapter has been deprecated, you can do this as well.
#Configuration
public class SecurityConfiguration {
#Bean
public SecurityFilterChain filterChain(HttpSecurity http) throws Exception {
http
.authorizeHttpRequests(autz -> autz
.mvcMatchers("/actuator/**").permitAll()
.anyRequest().authenticated()
);
return http.build();
}
}
** is a wildcard definition and allows you to access this endpoint without logging in, regardless of what comes after the actuator part.
Please Consider using a version for your dependency as far as i remember 1.9.5 RELEASE or 1.9.5 might help in this context , i had the same issue a year ago.

Application run failed spring boot aplication

I'm new in spring boot development. I created my first Spring Boot application and when i tried to run it as spring boot app i got this message.
Unable to start web server; nested exception is org.springframework.context.ApplicationContextException: Unable to start ServletWebServerApplicationContext due to missing ServletWebServerFactory bean.
package com.example.demo;

public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(HelloWorldApplication.class, args);
}
}
my configuration classe :
package com.example.demo;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.RequestMapping;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.RestController;
#RestController
public class AppConfiguration {
#RequestMapping("/hello")
public String hellow() {
return "hellow world";
}
}

Is this a web application you are creating?
If not, try setting this property in your application.yml file:
spring:
main:
web-application-type: none
If so, you need to have a ServletWebServerFactory bean. One example:
MyConfiguration {
#Bean
ServletWebServerFactory servletWebServerFactory(){
return new TomcatServletWebServerFactory();
}
}
More info here.
Oh, and install maven.

With spring-boot-starter-parent v2.0.x app does not start, while it works fine with 1.5.14

With v1.5.14 of the spring-boot-starter-parent the app starts just fine, just changing it to v2.0.x breaks it.
I get the below error:

I did read the change in the SpringApplicationBuilder for 2.x. But not sure how to go about fixing it.
Here is the startup snippet
#SpringBootApplication(scanBasePackages = {"com.xyz", "com.abc"})
#EntityScan("com.xyz")
#EnableJpaRepositories("com.xyz")
#EnableAsync
public class Application {
#Autowired
AppConfigurationProperties applicationPropertiesWrapper;
public static void main(final String[] args) throws Exception {
SpringApplication.run(Application.class, args);
}
Am I missing something basic? Any pointers to stuff that I should read up?
The relevant maven dependencies are below:

<dependency>

The problem is due to some conflict about versions referenced. Another dependency was using a different set of spring-related jars. Shall update with more details when Ive fully resolved the issue.

maven: run cucumber test after the deploy

I am working on The integration of Cucumber with spring boot application to test my Rest webservices.
When I run the application and then I run mvn test in the project, it works fine for me. But this is not what I need. Actually I want it to me more automated.
I want to run the test using only the command mvn clean install. but this command run directly the test without running the application so the test always fails "connection refused", this is normal because the application is not running.
My question is there a solution to run the app before running cucumber tests when I use the command mvn clean install
For that purpose I created a simple spring boot application using spring initializr (I added only web).
After that I added cucumber dependencies:
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-spring</artifactId>
<version>1.2.5</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-junit</artifactId>
<version>1.2.5</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-java</artifactId>
<version>1.2.5</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
So my pom.xml looks like this:
http://maven.apache.org/xsd/maven-4.0.0.xsd">
4.0.0
<groupId>cucumber</groupId>
<artifactId>hellocucumber</artifactId>
<version>0.0.1-SNAPSHOT</version>
<packaging>jar</packaging>
<name>hellocucumber</name>
<description>Demo project for Spring Boot</description>
<parent>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-parent</artifactId>
<version>2.0.3.RELEASE</version>
<relativePath/> <!-- lookup parent from repository -->
</parent>
<properties>
<project.build.sourceEncoding>UTF-8</project.build.sourceEncoding>
<project.reporting.outputEncoding>UTF-8</project.reporting.outputEncoding>
<java.version>1.8</java.version>
</properties>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-spring</artifactId>
<version>1.2.5</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-junit</artifactId>
<version>1.2.5</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-java</artifactId>
<version>1.2.5</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-maven-plugin</artifactId>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
then I created a controller to test it with cucumber:
#RestController
public class VersionController {
#GetMapping(path="/version")
public String getVersion() {
return "1.0";
}
}
for cucumber config I created this class
#RunWith(Cucumber.class)
#CucumberOptions(features = "src/features/", plugin = "pretty")
public class HelloCucumberCucumberRunnerTest {
}
Also I created my feature file
Feature: the version can be retrieved
Scenario: client makes call to GET /version
When the client calls /version
Then the client receives status code of 200
And the client receives server version "1.0"
And steps definition class:
#RunWith(SpringRunner.class)
#ContextConfiguration
#SpringBootTest(webEnvironment = SpringBootTest.WebEnvironment.RANDOM_PORT)
public class VersionSteps{
#Autowired
RestTemplate restTemplate;
#Value("${app.url}")
String url;
ResponseEntity<String> responseEntity;
#When("^the client calls /version$")
public void the_client_calls_version() throws Throwable {
url += "/version";
this.responseEntity = restTemplate.getForEntity(url, String.class);
}
#Then("^the client receives status code of (\\d+)$")
public void the_client_receives_status_code_of(int serverStatus) throws Throwable {
assertEquals(responseEntity.getStatusCode().value(), serverStatus);
}
#Then("^the client receives server version \"([^\"]*)\"$")
public void the_client_receives_server_version(String version) throws Throwable {
assertEquals(responseEntity.getBody(), version);
}
