i am attempting to write a simple dataframe into oracle database but I get an error message. I use a case class and a list to construct my dataframe. I found that that we can use a method jdbc after a write to insert data to my oracle database.
I tried this code:
case class MyClass(A: String, B: Int)
val MyClass_List = List(MyClass("att1", 1), MyClass("att2", 2))
val MyClass_df = MyClass_List.toDF()
MyClass_df.write
.mode("append")
.jdbc(url, tableTest, prop)
but I get the following error:
17/07/12 14:57:04 ERROR JobScheduler: Error running job streaming job 1499864218000 ms.0

i use spark version 2.1.0 and my database as two column A and B respectively typed as varchar and number.
Do you have any Idea?
In fact I was using the driver of mysql despite the driver of oracle.
I should use
prop.setProperty("driver", "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver")
and not
prop.setProperty("driver", "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver")
It should be "oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver" as the one in the driver package is deprecated.
prop.setProperty("driver", "oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver")

Is there a way to write through Spark Streaming, reading from kafka and write in ElasticSearch?
I tried something like... As explained in the ElasticSearch docs (with very little documentation regarding pyspark):
sc = SparkContext("local[2]", appName="TwitterStreamKafka")
ssc = StreamingContext(sc, batchIntervalSeconds)
topic = url_topic
tweets = KafkaUtils.createStream(ssc, zkQuorum, "spark-streaming-consumer", {topic: 1})
tweets.pprint()
conf = {"es.resource": "credentials/credential"} # assume Elasticsearch is running on localhost defaults
if tweets.count() > 0:
tweets.foreachRDD(lambda rdd: rdd.saveAsNewAPIHadoopFile(
path='-',
outputFormatClass="org.elasticsearch.hadoop.mr.EsOutputFormat",
keyClass="org.apache.hadoop.io.NullWritable",
valueClass="org.elasticsearch.hadoop.mr.LinkedMapWritable",
conf=conf))
ssc.start()
ssc.awaitTermination()
But it doesn't work. The error is:

This is the command I use to execute it:
spark-submit --jars elasticsearch-hadoop-5.6.4.jar,spark-streaming-kafka-0-10-assembly_2.11-2.2.0.jar es_spark_write.py
I am using spark 2.2.0
The messages from Kafka are key-message json like these:
(u'urls', u'{"token": "secret_token", "count": 2443}')
I am using Spark Streaming 1.6.1 with Kafka0.9.0.1 (createStreams API) HDP 2.4.2, My use case sends large messages to Kafka Topics ranges from 5MB to 30 MB in such cases Spark Streaming fails to complete its job and crashes with below exception.I am doing a dataframe operation and saving on HDFS in csv format, below is my code snippet
Reading from Kafka Topic:
val lines = KafkaUtils.createStream[String, String, StringDecoder, StringDecoder](ssc, kafkaParams, topicMap, StorageLevel.MEMORY_AND_DISK_SER_2/*MEMORY_ONLY_SER_2*/).map(_._2)
Writing on HDFS:
val hdfsDF: DataFrame = getDF(sqlContext, eventDF, schema,topicName)
hdfsDF.show
hdfsDF.write
.format("com.databricks.spark.csv")
.option("header", "false")
.save(hdfsPath + "/" + "out_" + System.currentTimeMillis().toString())

Did somebody manage to write files (and especially CSV) using Spark's DataFrame on Windows?
Many answers on SO are outdated (e.g. this one) because of Sparks native capabilities to write .CSV (and a unified write() method) since version 2.0. Also, I downloaded and added winutils.exe like proposed here.
Code:
// reading works just fine
val df = spark.read
.option("header", true)
.option("inferSchema", true)
.csv("file:///C:/tmp/in.csv")
// writing fails, none of these work
df.write.csv("file:///C:/tmp/out.csv")
df.write.csv("C:/tmp/out.csv")

I tried this, its working. You need to set warehouse dir configuration. That's the only thing missing from your code,also do you have write access to the directory where you are trying to write.
val spark = SparkSession
.builder()
.appName("Spark SQL CSV example")
.master("local")
.config("spark.sql.warehouse.dir", "file:///C:/IJava/")
.getOrCreate()
val df = spark.read
.option("header", true)
.option("inferSchema", true)
.csv("file:///C:/Users/sankar/Downloads/FLinsurancesample.csv")
df.write.csv("file:///C:/Users/sankar/Downloads/out.csv")

Is there any possible resolution for this?
Teradata's native CHAR and VARCHAR is not supported in TDCH.

Im trying to read data from cassandra using Hive with CqlStorageHandler.
The versions:
Hive 0.11.0
Hadoop 1.2.1
Cassandra 1.2.6
Im able to create EXTERNAL table with the following HIVE Query
CREATE EXTERNAL TABLE input(number string,name string,address string) STORED BY 'org.apache.hadoop.hive.cassandra.cql.CqlStorageHandler' WITH SERDEPROPERTIES ("cassandra.columns.mapping" = ":key, name, address", "cassandra.ks.name" ="cassandradb", "cassandra.host" = "localhost" ,"cassandra.port" = "9160") TBLPROPERTIES ("cassandra.input.split.size" = "64000","cassandra.range.size" = "1000","cassandra.slice.predicate.size" = "1000");
(The table "input" is already existing and containing some data in cassandra created with CQL3)
However, When I try to read data with the following query
select * from input where number="1";
Im facing the folowing issue:
Total MapReduce jobs = 1
Launching Job 1 out of 1
Number of reduce tasks is set to 0 since there's no reduce operator
java.io.IOException: Could not get input splits
