We need help trying to upload our opencart templatemonster.com template correctly on godaddy but we are not clear on how to do that.
FYI our public_html/system/database folder contains a mysqli.php file as well.
We made sure to upload the template via fullpackage (The name of the file is themeXXX(full).zip, where XXX is your theme number) to the public_html folder.
Extracted the zip files in the public_html folder.
Performed the installation using the installation manager .
At step 3 configuration we were prompted to input our database access details and made sure the database was empty. (GoDaddy told us to use the localhost)
After hitting continue:
The deprecated: mysql_connect() message and Warnings occur in step 3 of the opencart configuration setup after we enter the details and hit continue.

A commenter stated
mysql_ calls will work on this server but are causing deprecation
notices. A quick fix would be to turn off warnings in your php.ini
file, in your error_reporting value. Or you could try turning off
display errors, set display_errors to 0.
I like the comment but could someone provide a slightly more comprehensive explanation or visual resource to this suggestion? Such as articulating a little further how to proceed? Should I download the file through GoDaddys public FTP or should I use FileZilla FTP client (does it matter), make a copy, make the proper changes then re-upload?
I like the possible solution but I am curious to know if these are the only ones.
UPDATE
I just changed display_errors = 1; to display_errors = 0;
saved the file (I edited the file withing GoDaddy's text editor)
re-input our database access details
hit continue on step 3 configuration and got the same error.

I have a similar experience! You don't need to enable these extensions the PHP Version needs to be update:
Sign into GoDaddy
Go to My Products under your sign in name at the top right.
Go to Web Hosting and click the Manage button.
Click manage again.
Scroll to the Software header and click "Select PHP Version"
Then change to an earlier version, in which this extension is not deprecated.
Let me know how that works for you.
I am attempting to use a service account with Google's API to add a calendar event using php. I have this working perfectly on a site already. When i moved it to another site on the same server, i suddenly began to receive the following error messages:
~PHP Warning: mkdir(): Permission denied in Google/Cache/File.php
~Uncaught exception 'Google_Cache_Exception' with message 'Could not create storage directory: in Google/Cache/File.php
The two environments are identical as far as i can tell
~Same server
~Same permissions on all files/folders
~Same credentials
~Both URLS authorized in Google's console
I checked with my server to see if something in the upvoted answer here could be the issue, but was assured that everything was set up correctly.
I've done a lot of searching and reading, but can't imagine what might be causing these errors when everything works perfectly from the other site.
Any help would be much appreciated!
In case anyone comes upon this: I solved this by following the advise given here:
A client error occurred: Could not create storage directory: /tmp/Google_Client/00
specifically, i manually added nested folders (google and cache) inside my tmp directory and then set the path to it for google using this code (from the link above):
$config = new Google_Config();
$config->setClassConfig('Google_Cache_File', array('directory' => '../../tmp/google/cache'));
// Here I set a relative folder to avoid pb on permissions to a folder like /tmp that is not permitted on my mutualised host
$client = new Google_Client($config);
Add this PHP code to your script:
$client = new Google_Client();
$client->setCache(new Google_Cache_File('/path/to/shared/cache'));
In case also that anyone needs to do this. I'm working with Codeigniter and recently moved to osx el capitan on mac from windows 7. My google cache folder had the admin permissions read and write but the error persists: mkdir permission denied, on google/cache/file.php
I looked at my code where I load the google api and added>
$config = new Google_Config();
$config->setClassConfig('Google_Cache_File', array('directory' => 'application/third_party/Google/src/Google/Cache/'));
$client = new Google_Client($config);
So with those line you set your cache folder.
Hope this helps in the future as It helped me.
How do you specify a CACHE_DIR for a Windows development machine running Apache?
I tried the following with no luck:
define('CACHE_DIR','C:/root/public_html/mnc/jpgraph/cache/');
define('CACHE_DIR','C:\root\public_html\mnc\jpgraph\cache/');
define('CACHE_DIR','C:\root\public_html\mnc\jpgraph\cache\\');
The following is also set:
define('USE_CACHE',true);
define('READ_CACHE',true);
Graph creation is as follows:
$graph = new Graph(($tableWidth-2),($tableWidth/2),'auto',120);
...
$gdImgHandler = $graph->Stroke(_IMG_HANDLER);
// stream
$graphRendered = $filename;
$graph->img->Stream($graphRendered);
My img tag is as follows:
<img class="graphImg" src="<?php echo $graphRendered . '?' . uniqid()?>">
The cache folder has permissions set to Full Control for Administrators, Users, SYSTEM, and Authenticated Users.
My Apache root folder is C:\root\public_html\
I'm just installing MediaWiki (loving it). I'm lookin at this for adding images. I can se the logic of
[[File:MediaWiki:Image sample|50px]]
but where so I set the filepath for "File" (nothing obvious in LocalSettings.php) ... or is there some other logic at work?
I'd appreciate any help
Thanks
File location is determined by $wgLocalFileRepo which by default depends on $wgUploadDirectory and $wgHashedUploadDirectory. The upload directory defaults to [MediaWiki base dir]/images (Adrian must be using an older version). If hashing is enabled, /x/xy will be appended to the path, where xy are the first two letters of the md5 hash of the filename.
The defaults from DefaultSettings.php are:
$wgUploadPath = "$wgScriptPath/uploads";
$wgUploadDirectory = "$IP/uploads";
If you want to change this, you should copy and paste this into LocalSettings.php
And make sure that $wgEnableUploads = true; is in LocalSettings.php too.
Your "Image sample" is the name of image, not the name of a file. By config file you can just set the root folder for image uploads.
Just for future reference in case someone else runs into this issue:
I installed MediaWiki on my Mac OS Sierra and when I attempted to upload an image I got the following message:
Failed:
Could not open lock file for "mwstore://local-backend/local-public/d/d9/babypicture.png".
I changed the permissions on the mediawiki_root/images folder to be owned by _www user and group.
chown -R _www:_www wiki/images
I was able to upload the image afterward.
I have the following path set as the upload_path for Upload library included with Codeigniter.
$this->upload_config['upload_path'] = './uploads/working/';
This path works fine on the remote server. However, when I'm debugging locally, it fails.
I have permissions set so the directory is writeable.
I added logging to the upload library and found that it is failing this check in the library:
! #is_dir($this->upload_path)
My development machine is a MacBook Pro running 10.6.2. I'm using MAMP Pro. My directory structure looks like:
app
cache
ci_1_7_2
html
- css
- images
- index.php
- js
- uploads
- large
- normal
- small
- working
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
When uploads folder is inside /application/ you can use:
$this->upload_config['upload_path'] = APPPATH . 'uploads/working/';
But for this structure, hardcode an absolute path or use:
$this->upload_config['upload_path'] = realpath(dirname(__FILE__)). '/uploads/working/';
Notice that APPPATH contains a trailing slash but realpath will strip the trailing slash.
When all else fails, use absolute paths.
