Icon flipping in Kendo UI - kendo-ui

According to Kendo's docs, it should be possible to flip a button's icon using a CSS class (k-flip-h to flip horizontally, and k-flip-v to flip vertically).
I am doing this just like the docs using a span:
$("#normal").kendoButton();
$("#flipped").kendoButton();
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2017.2.621/styles/kendo.common-material.min.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2017.2.621/styles/kendo.material.min.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2017.2.621/styles/kendo.material.mobile.min.css" />
<script src="https://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2017.2.621/js/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2017.2.621/js/kendo.all.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="example">
<button id="normal">
<span class="k-icon k-i-pencil"/>
</button>
<button id="flipped">
<span class="k-icon k-i-pencil k-flip-h"/>
</button>
</div>
</body>
</html>
This yields two buttons that look identical. The second button should be flipped but isn't.
I suppose this makes sense, because doing a full-text search in their Github repo for "k-flip-h" doesn't find the "k-flip-h" text anywhere except the docs. It is nowhere to be found in their Javascript or CSS.
Does this feature actually exist?

It does seem to be missing. You can add the following CSS (borrowed from font awesome) to make it work:
.k-flip-h {
-ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.BasicImage(rotation=0, mirror=1)";
-webkit-transform: scale(-1, 1);
-ms-transform: scale(-1, 1);
transform: scale(-1, 1);
}
.k-flip-v {
-ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.BasicImage(rotation=2, mirror=1)";
-webkit-transform: scale(1, -1);
-ms-transform: scale(1, -1);
transform: scale(1, -1);
}

Display kendo dropdownlist popup when clicking on image

Is it possible to click on an icon/image and then get a kendo dropdown list to appear below he icon/image?
(In other words I only want do use the popup of a dropdownlist, I would like the input editor to be hidden and replace it with an image, when the user clicks the image the popup dropdownlist should appear)
The closest I have come to a solution is to hide the input element
<div style="display:none;"> <input id="dropdownlist"/> </div>
And when image/icons is clicked I open kendo dropdownlist popup
$("#dropdownlist").data("kendoDropDownList").open();
The problem with this is that the popup menu is displayed in the top left corner, I have not found a way to make the popup appear below icon/image.
Here is a little snippet of code that might suite your needs:
<!DOCTYPE html>

<meta charset="utf-8"/>

<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2016.3.1028/js/kendo.all.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div style="position: absolute; visibility: hidden;">
<input id="dropdownlist" style="height: 100px;" />
</div>
<img src="https://cdn2.scratch.mit.edu/get_image/gallery/1778374_200x130.png" style="height: 100px; position: absolute;" onclick="$('#dropdownlist').data('kendoDropDownList').open()" />
<script>
$("#dropdownlist").kendoDropDownList({
dataSource: [
{ id: 1, name: "Apples" },
{ id: 2, name: "Oranges" }
],
dataTextField: "name",
dataValueField: "id",
index: 1
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
Notice that the image height and the dropdown height should be the same.

put a mouseover on text display image in div in java script

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function show1() {
document.getElementById("img1").display = 'block';
}
function hide1() {
document.getElementById("img1").display = 'none';
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<span onMouseOver="show1()" onMouseOut="hide1()">Corporate Team Outing - LNT</span>
<div id="img1" style="display:none">
<img src="" alt="image 1" />
<img src="" alt="image 2" />
</div>
</body>
</html>
i want that when u put mouse on text it show image in div i m trying to do it but it not working.
Forget javascript for this one! CSS is the answer. Put a hover state on ID:img1 and the images inside the div (if u don't do the latter, mousing over the images will cancel out the div mouse over. So it will look like this (not inline styles due to mouse over states declaration):
#img1 {
Background-image: none;
}
#img1:hover, img1:hover img {
Background-image: url(your URL);
}
You could change the IDs to classes, so the CSS can be reused and keep the IDs for coding (javascript etc)

jQuery SlideToggle and random color

I have a jsfiddle here to illustrate my question
http://jsfiddle.net/ttmt/DgnLd/1/
It's just a simple button with a hidden div. The button slide toggles the hidden div.
I would like to have div filled with a random color each time it opens.
At the moment it's picking two random colors - when the div is opening and when the finished opening.
How can I stop the second color and just have one.

padding:0;
}

margin:20px;
}

background:red;
color:white;
padding:10px;
margin:0 0 50px 0;
}
#infoDiv{
width:500px;
height:300px;
display:none;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div id="wrap">

<div id="infoDiv">
</div>
</div>
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
alert('here');
var color_arr = ['#6faab6','#80c3d1','#888888','#d8e420','#21b4e4','#e4b115','#33ace4'];
$('#infoDiv').hide();
$('#btn').bind('click', function(){
$('#infoDiv').slideToggle('slow', function(){
var ranNum = Math.floor(Math.random()*color_arr.length);
var col = color_arr[ranNum];
$('#infoDiv').css({'background': col});
});
});
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
$(document).ready(function(){
var color_arr = ['#6faab6','#80c3d1','#888888','#d8e420','#21b4e4','#e4b115','#33ace4'];
$('#infoDiv').hide();
$('#btn').bind('click', function(){
var ranNum = Math.floor(Math.random()*color_arr.length);
var col = color_arr[ranNum];
$('#infoDiv:hidden').css({'background': col});
$('#infoDiv').slideToggle('slow');
});
});
Try that -- I've moved your Random color picker out of the SlideToggle callback as that will only run once the slide was finished which from your question I assumed you didn't want.
It also only changes the color of the info div if it's hidden by checking the visible selector, you can read more about that here
Let me know if that works for you

my page displays differently in firefox than in safari

I'm working on a microsite for a client, and things are working almost fine, except when I tried viewing it on firefox, I was surprised by how mis-placed things looked like..even though I disabled horizontal scrolling, in firefox u could still do it ( dont see the horizontal scroll but if you scroll horizontally it shows), even the webfont is different, although the webfont displays perfectly on firefox in other pages..and the third problem is the page top-margin, in the page properties I specified the margin to be 0 and in safari it worked, but in firefox it doesn't. could anyone please tell me what to do..I only have a spry menu bar and easing (animate2id) plugin which could be causing the problem maybe? in Safari it looks the way I want it to look..thanks in advance..
maybe I should mention that I'm a novice and I know what I know by self-learning.
here's the code in case..

my css3 media queries won't work when I move it to another site with https

I try a simple css3 media queries that will change background color when I change the browser to 480px width. It works fine when i put the files on my site, here: http://www.kangtanto.com/css3/ . But when I try the same files on my other site, with https, the media queries just won't work, the background color won't change when I change my browser size to 480px width. it is on my other site at https://dosenjaga.eepis-its.edu/home.html
this is my html code:
<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="only screen and (max-width:480px)" href="css3.css" />
</head>
<body>
<div id="wrapper">
<div id="header">
<h1>Ini hanya mencoba saja lho</h1>
</div>
<div id="content">
Adding the specific code for devices inline might be a good way to use media queries if
you only need to make a few changes, however if your stylesheet contains a lot of
overwriting or you want to completely separate the styles shown to desktop browsers and those used for small screen devices, then linking in a different stylesheet will enable you to keep the CSS separate.
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
and this is my style.css file. On my other site I use style2.css, because there is a file with the same name on my server, so I gave it other name but the code is the same.
div#wrapper { width: 800px;}
div#header{
background-image:url(media_queries.png);
height: 93px;
position:relative;
}
div#header h1{
font-size:140%;
}
#content{
float:none;
width:100%;
background-color:#CCC;
}
#navigation{
float:none;
width:auto;
}
and this is my css3.css code
#media only screen and (max-width:480px){
div#wrapper { width: 400px;}
div#header{
background-image:url(media_queries.png);
height: 93px;
position:relative;
}
div#header h1{
font-size:140%;
}
#content{
float:none;
width:100%;
background-color:#8787C1;
}
#navigation{
float:none;
width:auto;
}
}
Thanks,
It is the problem of older versions of IE not the https, CSS3 is not supported in less then IE9. in IE9 it is working fine.
It's solved!!! I need to delete all my browser history by pressing Shift+ctrl+del on my fire
