I have a form like this in my footer:
<div id="footer">
#if(Session::has('newsletter'))
<div class="alert alert-success hidden" id="newsletterSuccess">
<strong>Gelukt!</strong> U bent toegevoegd aan onze email lijst.
</div>
#endif
<form id="newsletterForm" action="/newsletter" method="POST">
<input type="hidden" name="_token" value="{{ csrf_token() }}">
<div class="input-group">
<input class="form-control" placeholder="Email adres" name="newsletterEmail" id="newsletterEmail" type="text">
<span class="input-group-btn">
<button class="btn btn-default" type="submit">Go!</button>
</span>
</div>
</form>
</div>
In my function in my controller I have:
public function index(Request $request)
{
Mail::to('info#mydomain.be')->send(new News($request->all()));
return redirect()->to(app('url')->previous(). '#footer')->with('newsletter', 'sent');
}
It redirects back to my previous page and to the correct anchor but it doesn't show my message. I've also tried this:
return Redirect::to(URL::previous() . "#footer")->with('newsletter', 'sent');
But also not working.
You have a "hidden" class in your alert. try removing it.
<div class="alert alert-success hidden" id="newsletterSuccess">
<strong>Gelukt!</strong> U bent toegevoegd aan onze email lijst.
</div>
You should try this:
return redirect()->back()->withInput()->withFlashSucess("Your message");
OR
return Redirect::to('your route',#footer')->withFlashSuccess("Your message");
View file
#if(Session::has('newsletter'))
<div class="alert-success" id="newsletterSuccess">
<strong>Gelukt!</strong> U bent toegevoegd aan onze email lijst.
</div>
#endif

Hey guys i am new to laravel and i am trying to build a college project. In the signup part i am not able to validate the users password and email. If the credentials are correct it redirects me to previous page just as i want. But if the credentials are wrong then it is not redirecting me to home page but the page just reloads.
Validation function:
public function user_register(Request $request){
$res = false;
$request->validate([
"name"=>"required",
"email"=>"required|email|unique:custom__auths",
"password"=>"required|min:5|max:12"
]);
$user = new Custom_Auth();
$user->name=$request->name;
$user->email=$request->email;
$user->pasword=$request->password;
$res = $user->save();
echo $res;
if($res==1){
return back()->with('success','you have registered successfully');
}
else{
return redirect('/');
}
}
table in database:
public function up()
{
Schema::create('custom__auths', function (Blueprint $table) {
$table->id();
$table->string("name");
$table->string("email")->unique();

I tried to use dd to understand the root cause of problem but unfortunately i am not able to get to the root cause of the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated !!
I think that "page reloads" means validation failed but you didn't show the error messages.
From Laravel docs, what happens if $request->validate() fails:
"If validation fails during a traditional HTTP request, a redirect response to the previous URL will be generated."
So it automatically redirects back, exactly what you're saying - "page reloads".
I assume you just don't show the validation errors.
Again, from the same docs, example how to show them:
#if ($errors->any())
<div class="alert alert-danger">
<ul>
#foreach ($errors->all() as $error)
<li>{{ $error }}</li>
#endforeach
</ul>
</div>
#endif
The $errors variable will automatically be filled from the session.
i am new to Laravel , in my project i want to add a comment in the blog after the authentification , i use session with this , so the problem is he don't show the name of the user !
this is my controller comment :
public function store (blog $getid , Request $request)
{
$patient_id=$request->session()->get('patient_id');
comment::create([
'body' =>request('body'),
'blog_id'=> $getid->id,
'patient_id'=>$patient_id
]);
return back();
}
This is the show.blade.php :
#foreach ($showme->comments as $comment)
<blockquote class="blockquote mb-0">
<p style="font-size:15px;">{{$comment->body}}</p>
<p> {{$comment->patient_id}}</p>
<footer class="blockquote-footer"> {{$comment->created_at}} <cite title="Source Title"> </cite></footer>
</blockquote>
#endforeach
</div>
<!-- si le patient est connceter -->
#if(Session::has('log_in'))
<div class="card-block">
<form method="POST" action="/blog/{{$showme->id}}/store" >
#csrf
<div class="form-group">
<label> Commentaire </label> </br>
<textarea name="body" rows="3" cols="80" cols="form-control"></textarea> </br>
</div><div class="form-group">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-primary"> Ajouter commentaire</button>

</form>

Thank you so much
I am using middleware for user roles.
But when I am using middleware in Controller __construct method, request validation does not work properly. It doesnt show any errors, session error bag returns null. I am not able to see any errors when form submit. But when I have disabled middleware in construct I can see request validation errors.
web.php middleware + controller _construct middleware = request validation doesnt works.
web.php middleware + without _construct middleware = works fine.
without web.php middleware + _construct middleware = works fine.
I showed the details in my codes.
I tried every method for a week but I couldn't solve it.
I look forward to your help sincerely.
web.php
Route::group(['middleware' => ['client.role:paying']], function () {
Route::get('/pay_section', 'HomepageController#showPaySection');
Route::get('/pay_success', 'HomepageController#showPaySuccess');
Route::get('/pay_error', 'HomepageController#showPayError');
Route::post('/pay_section', 'HomepageController#doPaySection');
});
HomepageController (like this my form request validation doesnt works because of middleware)
public function __construct()
{
$this->middleware(function ($request, $next) {
$client = auth()->guard('client');
if ($client->check()){
$request->session()->put('client_id', $client->user()->id);
}else{
$request->session()->put('client_id', -1);
}
$this->_cid = $request->session()->get('client_id'); // client
View::share(['cid' => $this->_cid]);
return $next($request);
});
}
HomepageController (like this my codes works perfect. I am able to see request validation errors there is no problem.)
public function __construct()
{
$this->_cid = 2; // client
View::share(['cid' => $this->_cid]);
}
Middleware ClientRole.php

$client = auth()->guard('client');
if ($client->check()){

Then run php artisan config:clear

How can I remove photo from calendar's event in edit calendar's event view? In list of events I did delete method and it works. Now when I try to do the same in edit.blade.php it gives error:
Call to a member function photos() on null
I have two tables in relationship one calendar to many photos, file upload works, but I stucked on edit part.
Look at my controller function:
public function deletePhoto(CalendarRepository $calRepo, $id)
{
$calendars = $calRepo->find($id);
$calendars->photos($id)->delete();
return redirect()->action('CalendarController#edit');
}
and here is fragment of edit.blade.php:
<div class="form-group">
<label for="photo">Photo:</label>
<div class="row">
#foreach(($calendar->photos) as $photo)
<div class="col-md-3">
<div class="admin-thumbnail">
<img class="img-responsive" src="/storage/{{ $photo->filename }}" style="width:100px; height:auto;"/>
</div>
<i class="fas fa-times"></i>Remove
</div>
#endforeach
</div>
</div>
I need to remove photo from Photo table and redirect to edit.blade.php (about the specific event id of the calendar)
Thanks for any help.
EDIT:
<div class="card-body">
<form action="{{ action ('CalendarController#editStore')}}" method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data">
<input type="hidden" name="_token" value="{{csrf_token() }}"/>
<input type="hidden" name="id" value="{{ $calendar->id }}"/>
<input type="hidden" name="_token" value="{{csrf_token() }}"/>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="photo">Photo:</label>
<div class="row">
#foreach(($calendar->photos) as $photo)
<div class="col-md-3">
<div class="admin-thumbnail">
<img class="img-responsive" src="/storage/{{ $photo->filename }}"/>
</div>
<form method="POST" action="{{ route('photo.delete', ['calendar' => $calendar, 'photo' => $photo]) }}">
#csrf
#method("DELETE")
<a onClick="return confirm('Are you sure?')"><i class="fas fa-times"></i>Remove</a>
</form>
</div>
#endforeach
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="header">Header</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="header" value="{{ $calendar->header }}"/>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="description">Description</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="description" value="{{ $calendar->description }}"/>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="date">Date</label>
<input type="date" class="form-control" name="date" value="{{ $calendar->date }}"/>
</div>
<input type="submit" value="Save" class="btn btn-primary"/>
</form>
</div>
You use the same $id to find the photo and the calendar instance.
GET request is not recommended for deleting a resource, so a better approach would be in your routes you can have something like this:
Route::delete('photo/{photo}', 'PhotosController#delete')->name('photo.delete');
Then in your view, you should surround the button with a Form, for example:
<form method="POST" action="{{ route('photo.delete', $photo) }}">
#csrf
#method("DELETE")
<a onClick="return confirm('Are you sure?')"><i class="fas fa-times"></i>Remove</a>
</form>
Then your confirm function in JS should submit the form if the user accepts to delete the photo. And also remember to return false as default in the confirm function so it does not submits the form by default.
Your controller will then be:
public function delete(Photo $photo)
{
$photo->delete();
return redirect()->back();
}
--- EDIT
Route::delete('calendar/{calendar}/photo/{photo}', 'CalendarController#deletePhoto')->name('photo.delete');
and the action in the form can be:
{{ route('photo.delete', ['calendar' => $calendar, 'photo' => $photo]) }}
The method in the controller:
public function deletePhoto(Calendar $calendar, Photo $photo)
{
$calendar->photos()->where('id', $photo->id)->delete();
return redirect()->action('CalendarController#edit');
}

You can either post a CSRF token in your form by calling:
{{ csrf_field() }}
Or exclude your route in app/Http/Middleware/VerifyCsrfToken.php:
protected $except = [
'your/route'
];
Implement like this to avoid Expired message.
<form action="{{ action('ContactController#store') }}" method="POST">

<!--input components-->

Please do this after the form class, because the resource take the #method('PUT')
