Xampp control panel is not showing - xampp

My Xampp control panel is not showing in the desktop (Windows 10), but can only up the servers through the shortcut (minimized option in the task bar).
As follows:
I have close the application without stopping the servers, will that be the case of this matter?

Here it's the easiest solution.
Right-click xampp.exe and go to xampp folder
Find and delete the following files xampp-control.ini - xampp-control.log
Restart xampp

Close Xampp process.
Go and open C://xampp/xampp-control.ini
Change these properties from x-number to 0
Restart Xampp.
This worked for me.

There is also one temporary solution.
Open XAMPP, You cannot see its window but its icon will be shown in the windows task bar.
Hover your mouse over the XAMPP icon, a small popup will be shown.
Right click on popup and choose maximize. This will maximize the XAMPP Control Panel and you can see all the options and logs.
This fix is temporary and you may have to do repeat the steps often.

This may be too late, but I had the same issue for some time, I will share my workaround, it is not a permanent fix but it works, you have to use procexp from SysinternalsSuite https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/
you launch procexp.exe, you search form xampp-control.exe and right click> window> Maximize.

In my case, the XAMPP window was just outside of my screen.
I just had to select it in the taskbar, press Alt+Space, Move and bring back the window using the arrow keys

Only 3 Steps:
Open XAMPP
Rollover over on XAMPP icon until the popup window comes up.
Right click on the popup window and select Maximize.

Clicking on xampp-control file in xampp folder (in my case it's in C:/xampp folder) will open XAMPP control panel.

Open XAMPP
Hover over the XAMPP icon until the popup window comes up.
Right click on the popup window and choose "maximize". This will display the XAMPP control panel in fullscreen mode.
In full screen click and hold on the toolbar at the top and then drag it down until the control panel is in a re sizable view and release.
You should now be able to minimize, maximize, or re size the panel with no problem.

Below steps works for me.
1) Open XAMPP, from taskbar right click on popup shown on mouse over of the XAMPP icon.
2) Select maximize, it will show XAMPP control panel in maximize mode.
3) Select topbar of the XAMPP and drag it down it will reset the size and that's it.
Now next time, when you open XAMPP it will show on the same location where you closed XAMPP previously.

This doesn't involve modifying, uninstalling, editing, or anything overtly complicated, just hovering:
Start XAMPP.
Hover mouse over XAMPP Window Tab until Window preview pane pops up over the tab.
Right Click over preview pane and click maximize.
Drag down from the sides to resize. Clicking the minimize tab will cause the window to disappear, and you will have to repeat the first three steps. Drag down from the top to pop the window out of maximized size.

There is a very easy way in windows 10. check this out!
Open "Windows Task Manager"
Go to "Processes" tab
Expand the "xampp-control.exe"
Right Click on Expanded "XAMPP Control Panel"
Select "Maximize"
Then you'll get Xampp Control Panel.
Note - The 5th step will only shown if the app is hidden.

I can suggest one thing. I had this situation. I solved that following the steps.
Restart the computer.
open taskbar to see if xampp is running.
Stop xampp if it is running.
Start xampp.
It will again minimize in the system tray just double click on the xampp icon.
Maybe this will help thanks.

Or try this:
It may be that the control panel position has been saved 'off screen'. This can happen if screen resolution has changed, or if a monitor has removed or changed.
To reset position:
1-Right click xampp.exe and go to xampp folder
2-Find and open xampp-control.ini with an editor, such as notepad.
3 Under [WindowSettings] are the settings for left and top position, plus width and height. Left and Top are pixel values for the control panel from the top left corner of your screen. If either of these are negative values the control panel will be off screen at default settings
4 Set them to something like:
Left=200
Top=200
Leave the width and height settings as they are, save the changes.
This should get the panel in view on the screen.

Quit Xampp
Delete xampp-control.ini file in xampp installation folder
Start Xampp

There is also one temporary solution.
Open XAMPP, In the windows task bar.
Hover your mouse over the XAMPP icon, a small popup will be shown.
Right click on popup and choose size.
click and pull bottom to resize window xampp controll.
This fix is temporary and you may have to do repeat the steps often.

Go to xampp directory and right click on xampp-control.exe than click on pin to start. it will appear in start bar you can pin it into task bar also

Go to the directory where xampp is installed for example if it's installed on drive C://
go C:\xampp folder and look for xampp-control.exe. right click and pin it to start or send it to desktop

i have the same problem but the solution is quite simple that worked perfectly for me
you must have the xampp directory inside the C: drive or wherever your installation location is
1: open up xampp folder from C:
2:scroll all the way down you will see xampp-control
3:Right click and Pin to start

Go to your XAMPP might be in the C folder or D depending on the installation, installation folder.
At the bottom find xampp-control.exe file.
Right click on that file and select "Pin To Start"

Easiest solution I found was:
Click on task view.
Click on minimized window of the control panel.
Just resize like any other window.
Deleting the log and config file doesn't work for me. So this could be an alternative.

Had the same problem of having the Control Panel hiding in the [Hidden Icons] in my Windows 10 PC. It didn't happen all the time. Once awhile, you might even get multiple XAMPP in the taskbar if you tried to open another XAMPP panel but none of them would open up.
Here is my simple solution.
Do whatever to stop and close the XAMPP that are hiding and running (in taskbar)
Go to c:\xampp (where the application was installed).
Delete two files: xampp-control.ini and xampp-control.log
Restart the XAMPP, which would ask to set the language.
That's it!
Seem to me the problem is due to an old version of xampp-control.ini stuck in the folder.
(XAMPP Version 8.1.6, Control Panel v3.3.0)

I had the same problem, what I did was try this suggestion and then run using Administrator, didn't have the same problem again, between just try with Run as Administrator as I read in logs it needed Administrator permission.
Try this:
1-Right click xampp.exe and go to xampp folder
2-Find and delete xampp-control.ini, log
3-Restart xampp

What worked for me was checking for windows updates and installing them

Quit Xampp
Open Xampp installation folder
Open xampp-control.ini with an editor
Find [WindowSettings]
Set all filed of WindowSettings ( Left, Top, Width, Height ) to ' -1 '
Save file
Start Xampp again
Example:
[WindowSettings]
Left=-1
Top=-1
Width=-1
Height=-1

Bonjour
Go to xampp Directory.
Delete the xampp-control.ini file
Restart your xampp and it will work.
Merci!!

Uncheck "Start Control Panel Minimized" in the configuration

Simply bring up the task manager, go to Xampp and "bring to front"

In my windows-10 localhost, double clicking xampp-control.exe have no effect.
But when I use the clip and issue the command:
C:\Users\username>C:\xampp\xampp-control.exe
xampp-control services seems to get started as observed from the hidden icon tray.
But the process isn't observed either through Task Manager's Processes or Services tab,
But, second time issuing the same command through clip, the XAMPP Control Panel v3.2.4 shows up just perfect.

Sometimes if you install xampp not in the c drive, this happens

Open Xamp installation folder (Windows >> C:\xampp\)
Quit Xampp (right click on icon tray)
Delete xampp-control.ini file in xamp installation folder
Start Xampp again

Jams Scheduler Client 7.1.478.0- Shortcut bar has disappeared

The title says it all. I use Jams Scheduler on a daily basis. The Shortcut menu, which is a default feature of the program and gives me access to job history and monitoring, is simply not on the front page when I open the program. I have tried altering font size and scaling options on Windows 10. The jams scheduler guide doesn't offer any help since every direction they have starts with "go to the shortcut bar". Please see the highlighted portion of the screenshot to see the portion that is missing. Has anyone run into this problem before?
JAMS has an option to make the Shortcuts panel float in a separate window by right-clicking on the Shortcuts panel title bar and selecting Float, or by dragging the shortcuts title bar out of the JAMS window. My guess is that your Shortcuts window is floating off screen.
You can restore your JAMS client back to defaults by deleting the version subfolder underneath your user's AppData Local folder for JAMS. By default, this folder is under C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\HelpSystems\JAMS. Delete the 7.1.478.0 folder and the next time you open JAMS it will treat you as a new user with default views and a restored Shortcuts bar. This means you'll need to re-enter your server name, so if you don't remember it, make sure before you delete the folder you hit the gears icon and select "Servers..." to see your server name.

Xcode 12 - Project Navigator width is stuck/locked, can't resize

Every so often the project navigator/left panel is stuck at a fixed width. This is very annoying when I have extensions in separate files named MainViewController+<Extension name>, because the <Extension name> is truncated.
PhotoSlide... what???
Pressing the "Hide or show the Navigator" button doesn't do anything either.
Quitting Xcode and restarting works. But this takes time, and I lose my place. Is there any other way to fix the stuck width problem?
Please follow these steps if you don't want to reopen the Xcode everytime:
Right-click (or control-click) on any file
Select Open in New Window
And ta-da! You can now resize the project navigator freely!
Instead of opening a new window, just use a tab:
Open a new tab (⌘+T)
Close the old one
This also annoyed me....finally I clicked around and found the show/hide navigator icon on the very top left next to the os icons and clicked it...after that it could resize.
it is to the left of the play button fyi.
I have had success by re-sizing the entire Xcode window - make it smaller then larger and the navigator becomes resizable again.
Sad to say it, but restarting Xcode worked for me..
Here is another workaround. When the navigator gets stuck or locked, click on the "Debug" navigator (or View > Navigators > Debug menu item). Voilà, you now should have the ability to resize.
NOTE: You may have to do this a couple times by selecting another navigator or two and then re-selecting the debug navigator.
UPDATE: This doesn't work reliably. #Senseful has the best solution so far.

How to resolve the error in launching git

I have installed the latest git(version 2.25.0) in Windows. However, I got an error while I am executing any of the git commands either in Powershell or in Command Prompt.
After executing the git command, the terminal produces :
Error launching git: The paging file is too small for this operation to complete
I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the software and restarted the system after installation. Can anyone help me to resolve this? Thanks in advance
AS per my understanding error here seems to be with the Windows page file and not Git.
Try the following steps below to resize the page file.
Start, Control Panel, System
The system properties applet will appear, select the advanced tab
In the performance tab, click settings
The performance dialog will appear, click the advanced tab click the change button.
You will now (assuming that you are a local admin) be able to increase the size of you virtual memory.
Change the paging size and click set.
Click OK
Click OK
Click OK
At this point, the machine may need to re-start.
Reference: Paging file is too small for this operation to complete

can we disable right click for a certain folder or desktop?

Is it possible to disable to right click for only a particular folder of desktop?
I tried the Reg-Editor method but it will disable the right click for the whole system.
I don't know how to disable right click but you can mark it as a hidden folder so that it cant be clicked at all. right click>properties>hidden>folder and subfolders>apply>ok
to undo open the location of the hidden folder right click>properties>uncheck hidden>folder and subfolders>apply>ok and your folder and its contents will reappear.

is it possibile to open iTerm in current Finder position

Sometimes it could be very useful to open new iTerm window. I've seen this feature in Gnome window manager. It is possible to get same feature on MaxOsX? Is there a software to do that?
Go to System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Services -> Files and Folders and give preferred shortcuts.
The shortcut will open iTerm at the selected folder, instead of from the folder that has been opened.
You can right-click on the folder where you want iTerm2 to open, then select Services -> New iTerm2 Tab here.
You can also find other options in the Services menu to open iTerm2 and Terminal.
This was tested on iTerm2 3.x and Catalina and above.
There are two apps called "Go2Shell" and "ShellHere". Both place a small icon at the top of the finder window. When the icon is clicked a terminal window opens in the same directory as the finder window.
Go2Shell
Go2Shell can be downloaded from Mac App Store or developer's website. It is possible that you won't be able to install it from Mac App Store, because Go2Shell wasn't updated for a long time.
Go2Shell allows users to specify whether to open shell in Terminal or iTerm2.
ShellHere
Shellhere can be downloaded from here.
ShellHere allows users to open a folder only in uses only MacOS Terminal.
Problem with current solutions: Doesn't work in current folder. Only if you right click a folder.
So do this:
In Finder, press ⌥ + ⌘ + P to show the path bar.
Then, right click your folder and choose the option. Voila!
Try https://github.com/wonderyue/Go2ShellAppleScript.
Something like Go2Shell. The latest update of Go2Shell is five years ago, due to the compatibility problem, I make a similar one with AppleScript.
If you want to open iTerm in current Finder position try the following:
OpenInTerminal
https://github.com/Ji4n1ng/OpenInTerminal
Alternative and a bit older
TermHere
https://hashbang.productions/apps/termhere/ (last updated on 2016)
Both work without issues in MacOS Catalina
cdto doesn't support opening the folder in iTerm, so its a no go
If you have BetterTouchTool, you can just create a Finder trigger with action "Open Active/Selected Folder With Specific App" and select "iTerm". Works for me!
BetterTouchTool screenshot
EDIT:
You can even add Hotkey Window hotkey before "Open Active/Selected Folder With Specific App" to open the terminal in the hotkey window (as a tab). Really neat.
In hotkey window
I've been using cdto forever before accidentally stumbling on to the accepted answer. Will definitely try out the accepted answer, but leaving a link to cdto here if someone finds in useful
