Simple blog in Django (1.11.7 - Python3) in which I have impemented the Markdownx plugin. The plugin works for most of the markdown in preview in my 'edit_article' page, and in the normal view where users can read an article. BUT some of the markup isn't working in either:
Not working:
blockquotes using >
headers using one or more # or _
double-space and carriage return doesn't add a line-break
Links, images, numbered lists, emphasis and bold etc all work.
I posted my markdown in here, but of course it all worked here...
Don't really have any code to post, because most things work, so I'm guessing there isn't any problem with my model/view etc.
Anyone experienced this?
# So, let's try a header
doesn't work, neither does
> this type of blockquote
but they shoud produce
So, lets try a header
and
this type of blockquote
So I found the answer to this myself. I am using a CSS framework that resets the styling on the 'broken' markup tags. Until I add back the framework's CSS classes to the H1-H6 tags for example, the reset makes all headers appear as plain text.
So I have to add some custom CSS to the css framework's styling for those tags that are being overridden, or use html in the textarea in the form which should also work.

If I understood correctly, in laravel text emails it is not necessary to add "\n" for example,
but it seems that, some times the "enters" ( new lines ) I add work properly, sometimes not.
I've been trying to figure it out anc it is a mystery, seen some people with the same issue but haven't found a solution yet.
Some examples/tests below:
Edit:
HTML is not being used! I'm calling ->text( and not->view(:
Added 2 spaces BEFORE the line break, Issue solved.
Make sure your IDE is not trimming spaces at the end!!
Which was my case with VSCode ( not sure if some plugin or native will figure out soon )
You are using Blade Template from Laravel, and Blade uses html tags.
In your case, since you are using HTML anyway, why not use breaklines, paragraphs, divs or anything that is a block element so that you can efficiently add a newline.
<p>
<br>
<div>
Or much better approach is to use Markdown template for Emails as documented from official Laravel page, Markdown mailables
I'm trying to "upload" an html-converted .docx file into a CKEditor. So far, the convertion from .docx to html is nearly perfect and I'm able to pass the code from Java(Spring/Maven) to my webapp(ZK framework, using native CKEditor and JavaScript).
The problems I've had so far revolve around the fact that the loaded text is either half-formatted or not formatted at all, and that's the actual reason I'm working in this (To avoid loss of format present by copy-pasting). I've managed to find the reason of this behaviour: CK likes HTML tags OR won't use multiple styles per container (ie. style="font-weight: bold" is Ok, but style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold" isn't, it will pick one or another) and Docx4j uses inline styling for formating because of XHTML (As far as I've read).
After that I tried to force the styles in CKEditor by the config file, but that wasn't the solution as one element will overwrite the another, resulting in only one style being used.
With all that, I decided to manipulate a test docx (It's literally a "hello world" line bold, with italics and underline), converted it and forced the tags b, i and u on the resulting HTML file through Java. The result was the desired one.
Now my focus is to config docx4j so it uses tags instead of inline css, as so far it's the "easiest" solution and I liked the resulting html from it. After reasing some more I came across an old class with a method that (by name) will do that, but it's not present in my imported library. I tried both, new and old methods to convert to html but the results are the same.
Is there a setting or a way to let docx4j (v8.2.3 reference) know that I want html tags instead of css styles? I've seen the examples and looked into the javadoc, but it's a bit outdated and didn't really helped me that much. This seems to be the only way to do this, or build my own parser, which is simply not an option due time constraints.
Thanks!
I'm using Full HTML filter, with CKEditor. The following filters are enabled:
Align images
Caption images
Track images uploaded via a Text Editor
Collapsible text blocks
Note that Limit allowed HTML tags and correct faulty HTML is NOT enabled.
when I add a style attribute to a table element in Ckeditor using the Source view, specifically "width=75%", it is stripped when the page is rendered. When I edit the page again and go to Source view, the style tag is there.
What is stripping it on render?
I believe inline styles are removed by default for security reasons. But, there has been a lot of discussion about this issue on Drupal.org over the past few years. If you're looking for a workaround and accept the risk, here are two approaches I have found:
How to fix: CKEditor is removing style attributes. Drupal 8.
Refactor Xss::attributes() to allow filtering of style attribute values
Fair warning: I have not personally implemented either of these.
Inline style is stripped by default with Basic HTML formatter. Unless you have a specific reason why you don't want to turn on Limit allowed HTML tags I highly recommend that you do because it gives you a lot of control over what tags you and others can use in the wysiwyg. In addition, it allows you to add a "Styles" button with pre-configured styles so you don't have to insert inline CSS code repetitively.
I am understanding this better but still not there yet.
I have a notes document with a rich text field. I want to edit it in Xpages, so that the user can enter text for an email that an agent will generate. The idea is that the user should be able to enter styled text, hopefully including pasted graphics, and this is saved to the rich text field in such a way that a later agent can copy that field to the body of an email.
On the form I have checked the field "Store contents as HTML and MIME.
In the Xpage I have bound the CKEditor directly to the field (can bind it to a scope variable if necessary).
The code in my agent is as follows:
Set rtItmFrm = emlDoc.getFirstItem("Body")
Set rtItmTo = New NotesRichTextItem(mail,"Body")
Set rtItmTo = rtItmFrm.Copyitemtodocument(mail,"Body")
Any further suggestions on reading up on MIME/CKEditor etc would also be much appreciated.

I just discovered how to modify the CKEditor in Xpages (the Rich Text Control). I have the full menu and one or two more things turned out. However, I am really puzzled by how it treats HTML. I would like to put a template for a nice HTML email (like a newsletter). Anything even a little complicated it munges and the output is messed up.
I read enough online to understand that it is not supposed to be a HTML editor, but I am really having trouble getting the results I want. I would love to put some basic skeleton HTML in there, but everything but the simplest code doesn't work.
Is there anyway to import HTML and it not get messed up using this editor?
as Per and Stephan said, Have a look at ACF filtering that is 'server side' (This is not related to CKEditor itself, but it is related to XPages).
If you have a look at the inputRichText control you will see 2 properties.
htmlFilter
htmlFilterIn
These properties determine how to filter Html on the way in to your data, and also on the way out.
This can be used to strip styling out, and also to prevent dangerous tags like some bad code here etc.
By Default the htmlFilter is set ACF (Active Content Filtering) if you look at the default rules, you will see it strips things like 'margin' out.
see /properties/acf-config.xml-sample
There is a filter called 'identity' which means don't filter anything, however beware if you use this you are not protected from and maliciously entered html.
You should look into defining your own set of rules for your ACF filter, this way you can choose which elements to remove. There is a section in Mastering XPages book about this.
If you still have any trouble, then there are some settings in CKEditor config which also control ACF (totally separate to XPages server side)
I don't think CKE changes the HTML, it is the writing back to a RT field.
Try and bind your RichText Editor to a scoped variable instead of a RichText field. This way you have access to the raw HTML and can use that to generate a MIME email. You might want to have a look at Mustache for mail merge.
Use this article series as starter how to prepare CK editor to make this possible.
And as Per mentioned: check the filtering.
while creating a article I want to show some HTML code as part of content, but after saving that article that particular snippet of HTML code get executed.
I am using joomla 1.5 | code citation extension for insert code in article. Is there any solution?
You should turn off HTML stripping, or include it as a Custom HTML Module, and writing the position in the article with load position. to load the custom HTML you've put in the Module. i.e.
{loadposition YourModulePosition}
Will load anything you place within a Custom HTML Module.
The correct way should be to paste the code into the wysiwyg (design view, not raw code view) - as long as you have a decent editor the angle brackets should be converted to html entities and it should just work.
The built-in Geshi plugin - though a little dated - is usually all that is needed to make add colored highlighting. The plugin is a little dated but after inserting your code all you need to do to make it work is add:
<pre class="html"> ... </pre>
around your html. Chenge HTML to js, css, etc depending upon the code to be shown.
