where are the point clouds saved when using the Constructor app? - google-project-tango

I'm using the Constructor app and after I have scanned a room, I can't seem to find the saved point cloud anywhere on the device. I don't want to use the "Share" button, I would like to know where the data is saved locally. Would it be possible to know where the point clouds are saved on the device?
Thank you

I am on a Lenovo Phab Pro and the scanned data of te Constructor app are saved in the following folder : /sdcard/TangoConstructor/ as a .zip folder for each scene you captured. Inside, you should find your mesh as a .obj file.
It is not a raw point cloud that is saved but you can get the point cloud from the .obj file.
After the capture, it can takes several minutes for the app to process the mesh, you get a notification when it is done. Then, if you wait some minutes you should get a notification telling you where the data have been exported. Only after that you can access the target folder, it is not visible beforehand.

MediaPlugin saves image under Application diroctory folder

I am using MediaPlugin to capture image and upload back to server. But, my problem is the MediaPlugin by default it saves the images under Application directory folder. i.e. "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.plugin.mediatest/files/Pictures/Test/".
So, without knowing the user. Silently, the app might be eating up the phone memory. If we want to address this issue what is the best solution we can give. Appreciate if you could share your expertise.

Nativescript camera take multiple pictures before returning to the app

I have a NS 4.1.3 application using TS where I use the nativescript-camera plugin to allow the user to take photos which are saved to the device's photos library.
Everything works great, however, after each photo the camera closes and the user is back at the app and if they want to take another picture they have to go through the same process.
Is there a way to open the camera, take multiple pictures and only when done return back to the app? I could not find anything on the plugin's github page.
Thank you.
you can't take multiple photos in one session using native camera api due to platform limitation. what you can do is capture camera session using AVCaptureSession for ios and CameraCaptureSession camera2 api for android and then show it to user. after that on some button click capture photo.
here is some plugins which might help you:
https://github.com/NickIliev/NativeScript-cameraApp-poc
https://www.npmjs.com/package/nativescript-camera-preview
I ended up using navivescript-camera-plus
They have done a great job exposing the Camera and Library functionality via the plugin's api.

Does the xcode simulator strip gps coordinates from image meta data?

I'm extracting GPS coordinates from image meta data. A picture that has GPS coordinates, verified using the Finder's Get Info function, when added to the simulator it seems the GPS coordinates are no longer present.
I can't be sure I actually found the image on disk as finding albums is tricky, but I think I found it and Finder doesn't display the coordinates. Yet when I run my app on the phone it does find GPS coordinates.
So that means to me the xcode simulator strips GPS meta data, though I couldn't find confirmation. Does this sound right?
For xcode Version 6.1.1 (6A2008a).
Yes. The same thing happens to me with photos with confirmed latitude/longitude on my device and desktop.
Makes it VERY difficult to create screenshots and videos demonstrating location services for the App Store for all the devices I do not own.

Using Cordova/Phonegap to save an image taken from the phone camera Windows Phone 7

I am using Visual Studio 2010 and the Windows Phone 7 Emulator in order to create an app which allows the user to take a photo and then save it into a folder on the file system and also create a reference of it on the database so as all of the images on the database can be displayed on the app. I can't however save the Image that is taken by the camera, I have spent ages looking through the Cordova docs and other websites. It looks as if I need the file location of the image taken by the camera but I cannot get the consol.log to open, I have been through my Registry Editor and I cannot get it to display. I would love an example which would show me how to get the camera image and either save it to localstorage or create a copy in order to save it into a folder.
Thanks in advance
Use FILE_URI for Camera.DestinationType option. It will make the image captured stored in the device's image gallery.

Programmatically change the tile on WP7 device

I'm making an app where I would like to generate a new tile from inside the app, and then change it - no web service involved, and no need to change it when the app is not running.
Anyone know how to do this?
Cheers!
as #Derek said, you can update the tile using the tile schedule, but will take an hour minimum before the phone updates the tile.
i have written a tutorial on how to update the tile instantly here:
http://www.diaryofaninja.com/blog/2011/04/03/windows-phone-7-live-tile-schedules-ndash-executing-instant-live-tile-updates
basically it involves opening a push/toast update channel and then getting the phone to send "itself" a live tile update request. this will trigger the phone to go and get the tile "right now"
hope this helps
You can update the background image for a Live tile by using the ShellTileSchedule as documented in How to: Update Your Tile Without Push Notifications for Windows Phone. However, the image that is used for that background must come from a remote location, it cannot be provided directly by your application (unless you generate the image and send it to your own web service).
If you do go down the Microsoft Push Notification Services route, you may want to take a look at the Windows Push Notification Server Side Helper Library provided by the Windows Phone team.
You can generate and send a tile push notification message from the applicaiton itself. Not sure if it will work with an image in the app though. - Let us know if you try.
Thanks for the info!
It won't be an image from the app, as the xml files I'm downloading are pointing to the correct image. Not sure about the format, but I guess setting up my own server to proxy the request and resize the icon as needed wouldn't be too hard.
But it's really sad we cannot manipulate the tile image for 'this' from within our own app...
