Multiple folder configuration for thymeleaf templates - spring

I have the a simple spring based project which uses thymeleaf, being defined in my context.xml file. For better organization of the project, the re-usable chunk of template is clubbed in a child folder. This pic will give you a better idea.
I am able to "include" templates defined in all the html pages under templates, but have so far been unsuccessful in including templates defined under layup folder.

I am facing exceptions as soon as I deploy the .war files in my webapps folder and start tomcat. The obtained error stack is posted in the main question.

I was finally able to figure out my mistakes. I made a couple of them.
My return statement in the controller is wrong. It should
#RequestMapping(value = "/firstTab", method = RequestMethod.GET)

I forgot to include the parent folder name in my return statement.
I am including JavaScript code in my *.html page between the following

</script>
</th:block>
and including them directly in my html th segment as so
<th:block th:include="myHtmlPage::myScripts"></th:block>
I am suppose to include it like
<th:block th:include="layup/myHtmlPage::myScripts"></th:block>
i.e the complete address including parent_folder(layup) and all.
On the same lines it is possible to have a complex folder structure and all of them can be easily mapped.

Not sure why spring boot throws error

This may be a bug (we're still investigating), however we do have a work around. The cause of this is that when using #EnableBatchProcessing the StepScope that is automatically configured assumes java config and therefore does not proxy the step scoped beans, causing them to be created too soon. The work around is to manually configure a StepScope in your XML configuration with the following configuration:

Seeing as you are using #RunWith(SpringRunner.class), declaring #TestExecutionListeners({..., StepScopeTestExecutionListener.class}) above your class will setup the scopes for you.
Same with #TestExecutionListeners({..., JobScopeTestExecutionListener.class}) for jobScope.
You can solve by 2 Ways:
A.
Use spring.main.allow-bean-definition-overriding=true in application.properties
B.
To solve spring boot batch scope issue and avoid the use of spring.main.allow-bean-definition-overriding=true:

So Hibernate expects JPA 2.1 and you only provide JPA 2.0 (or less) API jar. Put JPA API 2.1 in the CLASSPATH and remove all older versions. As can be seen on many other posts on Stackoverflow.

What is wrong ?
Usually you just need one DataSource instance per application rather than per request. The reason it fails because Spring is trying to initialize DataSource at start up time, at that time there is no request available yet.
So remove scope="request"

This issue is fixed in Hibernate 4.1.4.
I had the same problem, and it seems to be related to the Jetty classloader (the GWT plugin uses Jetty for hosted mode), the GWT plugin and Hibernate (although it apparently crops up with other libraries as well).
It's similar to the bug mentioned here Hibernate Bug Report but in our cases we're running it via the GWT plugin and it causes a ClassCastException for the ConnectionProvider.
The fix mentioned in the bug report should fix that particular problem.
For org.hibernate.service.classloading.internalClassLoaderServiceImpl set the parent to null via the constructor:

I think you don't need to set <provider>org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence</provider> in persistence.xml. Check the docs.
