execute in remote machine from a shell script in local machine - terminal

shell script should be on local machine.
shell script contain two steps
a. ssh command along with password
b. sudo command along with password.
i cannot install any packages not allowed.
Please help me how to write command inside shell script.

Try this:
ssh user#server_ip "bash -s" < script.sh

using send and expect commands correctly issue fixed for me. Thank you for suggestions

Bash script remote variable to local script

I'm trying to make a script that uses variables from a remote script. Currently the script executes the remote script with an ssh user#server "/route/to/script.sh" command in the script. In that script I'm saving some variables. I wish to use these variables in my local script where I've began everything.
Any ideas how to do this?

Lots of options possible. One could be:
a=$(ssh user#server "/route/to/script.sh")
While the remote script.sh looks something like this:
#!/bin/bash
hostname
This way, the output of the command hostname (should be the name of the remote host) will end up in the local variable a.

How to return to the script once sudo is done

I am on a server and running a script file that has following code.
ssh username#servername
sudo su - root
cd /abc/xyz
mkdir asdfg
I am able to ssh... but then the next command is not working.. the script is not sudo-ing. any idea?

First of all your command will "stuck" on the first line because it will go into an interactive mode. The ssh command will require a password to be provided by a user (unless there is an sshkey being used) . And if the ssh is logged into the remote server then it will wait for user commands from standard input.
Secondly the lines following the ssh command will be executed only when the first process has exited. This is why your script is not "sudoing" - it's waiting for the ssh to end.
So if your point is to run a command on a remote server then put the command as a parameter into the same line as ssh connection. In your case:
ssh user#server sudo su - root
But this will not be of satisfaction for you. I suggest you create a script of what you want to execute on the remote server and then execute the script.
ssh user#server scriptName
The sudo thing here is very tricky because again your script might get stuck in the interactive mode waiting for a password to be inserted so I suggest you think again on the basis of the script.

You want to run the script on the remote computer, correct?
On the remote machine, create a file containing the commands you would like to execute.
Then, on the other machine, run ssh user#machine /path/to/script/you/created/earlier

How can I run a shell script via SSH such that the environment of the remote computer is similar to that of the local computer?

I welcome rephrasing of my question, because I'm not sure exactly what the problem is called.
I am trying to run a shell script via SSH using a command of the following form:
ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no lxplus0035 "cd ~/test; bash script1.sh"
When I do this, the complex script script1.sh breaks with many syntax errors, operand errors and other errors. An example is as follows:
stty: standard input: Invalid argument
The script works fine when run directly, not via SSH, in the local system and in the remote system (when connected in an SSH session). Why might executing the script via SSH cause these problems?
The stty problem is not related to your environment, it's a result of the SSH command not allocating you a TTY (What is Pseudo TTY-Allocation? (SSH and Github)). Adding -t argument for ssh should fix it.

SSH : Remotely run a script and stay there

I wish to run a script on the remote system and then wish to stay there.
Running following script:-
ssh user#remote logs.sh
This do run the script but after that I am back to my host system. i need to stay on remote one. I tried with..
ssh user#remote logs.sh;bash -l
somehow it solves the problem but still not working exactly as a fresh login as the command:-
ssh user#remote
Or it will be better if i could include something in my script that would open the bash terminal in the same directory where the script was running. Please suggest.
Try this:
ssh -t user#remote 'logs.sh; bash -l'
The quotes are needed to pass both commands to ssh. The -t option forces a pseudo-tty allocation.

Consider:
ssh user#remote logs.sh;bash -l
When the shell parses this line, it splits it into two commands. The first is:
ssh user#remote logs.sh
This runs logs.sh on the remote machine. The second command is:
bash -l
This opens a login shell on the local machine.
The quotes were added above to prevent the shell from splitting up the commands this way.

How do you use ssh in a shell script?

When I try to use an ssh command in a shell script, the command just sits there. Do you have an example of how to use ssh in a shell script?
Depends on what you want to do, and how you use it. If you just want to execute a command remotely and safely on another machine, just use
ssh user#host command
for example
ssh user#host ls
In order to do this safely you need to either ask the user for the password during runtime, or set up keys on the remote host.
First, you need to make sure you've set up password-less (public key login). There are at least two flavors of ssh with slightly different configuration file formats. Check the ssh manpage on your system, consult you local sysadmin or head over to How do I setup Public-Key Authentication?.
To run ssh in batch mode (such as within a shell script), you need to pass a command you want to be run. The syntax is:
ssh host command
If you want to run more than one command at the same time, use quotes and semicolons:
ssh host "command1; command2"
The quotes are needed to protect the semicolons from the shell interpreter. If you left them out, only the first command would be run remotely and all the rest would be run on the local machine.
You need to put your SSH public key into the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file on the remote host. Then you'll be able to SSH to that host password-less.
Alternatively you can use ssh-agent. I would recommend against storing the password in the script.
You can use expect command to populate the username/password info.
The easiest way is using a certificate for the user that runs the script.
A more complex one implies adding to stdin the password when the shell command asks for it. Expect, perl libraries, show to the user the prompt asking the password (if is interactive, at least), there are a lot of choices.
