I have a website (donsub.com) and it use videojs to play YouTube videos and overlay subtitles with it's plugin,
the problem is that iOS always run native player instead of videojs making the videos appear without subtitle,
I tried making an app
xcode webview can only allow inline play and avplayer can't render advance subtitles files
(I didn't try the new wkwebview yet)
Is there a solution for this problem?
You can use "playsinline": 1 also "webkit-playsinline": 1 in data-setup in video tag

I am using the AudioRecorder Plugin to record audio and then save it / play it back using the XCT Media element control.
Working fine on iPhone, however on Android it's not playing back the audio at all - either locally or from a URL.
I've taken a copy of the Xamarin sample project (https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-forms-samples/tree/main/UserInterface/MediaElementDemos) and replaced the URL in the PlayWebAudioPage with the link to my recorded Audio file and it just doesn't play on Android.
Any ideas on how to investigate this further / fix?
The file plays fine on iPhone, on the computer web browser, VLC etc.
I have tried using iframe and also video tag and object tag to play the video. In some cases, it plays only the audio from the video, but video doesn't show up.
Secondly, the same video file plays well on a separate tab in the browser, but not within my iframe.
This issue is on all browsers on my Mac, but on a windows machine it plays well.
I finally found it. Apple has a good documentation of its own for this. https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/quicktime/conceptual/qtscripting_html/QTScripting_HTML_Document/ScriptingHTML.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40001525-2-GettingaBrowsertoLoadQuickTime
I simply had to use the embed tag properly as they have explained.
How do I stream YouTube videos in a Windows Phone app? I've tried using the MediaElement control and setting its Source property with the URL to a video and called the Play() method on the media element, but it didn't work. I want to create a simple video player that plays a video as it is being streamed. What kind of .NET classes do I need to work with?
YouTube does not expose its videos in a format which you can use to play them within Windows Phone applications, or any other kind of application for that matter. This is why services such as KeepVid, which provide 'hacks' for downloading YouTube videos, exist.
Please see my answer to this identical question from a few months ago over # Possible to play Youtube video in a wp7 app?
I am having a very frustrating issue with HTMl5 video and safari/mac.
I am using html5 video throughout the site where needed and it works/plays on every browsers bar safari on a mac (its fine on safari windows and chrome mac for example)
The videos dont stream and only play once the entire file is downloaded. At first I thought it may be to do with the index of the file being at the end and not the beginning (link html5 video = safari wants to download it all) so i tried qtindexswapper but when loading the MP4 into the program it said the MOOV/Index was in the correct position.
Anyone have any idea why safari mac has this issue?
A.
I've seen HTML5 be very picky with videos. They may play fine in a player, but not play or maybe play with no audio once embedded. This is usually due to a video not properly created/formatted. In most cases, re-creating the file in a professional level program alleviates the issue.
i´m using the itunes file sharing feature to import customized data from the user.
I need to play videos when tapping on a customized UIButton. Therefore i want to know if its possible to set a thumbnail image from a video to each instance of MyButton.
I´ve played already with the MPMoviePlayerController and its "thumbnailImageAtTime:timeOption" function. It works great after selecting and playing that one video. But i need to generate thumbnails for all videos before.
When syncing videos on any iOS device via itunes, apple generates thumbnails for the camera roll instantly. So thats the way i´m looking for.. Any ideas how apple is doing it?
I´ve got it. Using the AVFoundationFramework with "AVAssetImageGenerator" ;)
