deploy spring boot war into tomcat - spring

i am using spring boot and i want to deploy a rest API war file into tomcat server.
There is no errors in the tomcat server logs but when i call any endpoint i got 404 "not found" and i got the same from the tomcat server .
java version : 8.
tomcat version : 9.
maybe i miss something , here are my code samples :

Yes I had the similar error, in my case I autowire the object of Spring security session so it shows circular reference error.
I added #Lay annotation on top of the autowired object. For more details pls check the link.
https://www.quora.com/How-can-you-fix-Requested-bean-is-currently-in-creation-Is-there-an-unresolvable-circular-reference-while-deploying-a-Spring-Security-application-in-Tomcat

run your spring boot app in your tomcat server as a ROOT context.
u can do it by change ROOT.war in tomcat server with your spring boot app ( this is a bad way ) or u can configure it.

I fixed similar issue. There is no error but some warning when you try open web page. Probably you can take "Warning: No mapping found".
You dont need to SpringBootServletInitializer and override metode in application class. Spring boot is developed for autoconfiguration. Your html or jsp page should be in resources/template or resources/static folder. Please peruse Serving Web Content with Spring MVC , this page can be help you.

Rest Endpoint with Springt Boot 3.0.0 not working anymore

Recently, I updated my dependencies of my Spring Boot Project to 3.0.0 and my rest end points stopped working.

My Resource looks likte that:
#RestController
#RequestMapping(path = "/test")
public class TestResource {
#GetMapping(value="/test")
public ResponseEntity<String> test() {
return ResponseEntity.ok("success");
}
}
Using Spring Boot 2.6.4 the rest end point works. Using Spring Boot 3.0.0 I get a 404 but no errors in the console. What am I missing?
Any hint is appreciated.
Spring Boot 3 requires a JakartaEE Servlet container. That means, for Tomcat, that needs to be at least version 10.x, anything lower is still JavaEE.

deploy war file in a TOMCAT server and “service.bat” file

I developed a Spring boot app and generated the war file in order to deploy it to a TOMCAT cloud server. However, when I did, it didn’t work. It gave me “HTTP Status 404-not found”. So I tried the same steps on a local TOMCAT server. First, it didn’t work too, but when I uninstalled and installed again the “service.bat” file it works fine (it fixed my problem in local).
But my doubt is, making this same procedure in production may affect other apps and result very risky, because other apps are running. There is an additional configuration in the spring Environment to avoid uninstalling an install service.bat.
I show the main function with extends SpringBootServletInitializer I set up:
package com.example.capacitaciones;
import org.springframework.boot.SpringApplication;
import org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.SpringBootApplication;
import org.springframework.boot.builder.SpringApplicationBuilder;
import org.springframework.boot.web.servlet.support.SpringBootServletInitializer;
#SpringBootApplication
public class CapacitacionesApplication extends SpringBootServletInitializer {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(CapacitacionesApplication.class, args);
}
#Override
protected SpringApplicationBuilder configure(SpringApplicationBuilder builder) {
return builder.sources(CapacitacionesApplication.class);
}
}

how to deploy spring boot app with external jar and jar packaging

I do not see see this custom jar in your pom.xml, you might have added it to your IDE configurations(or any other method which only works locally) so although it might work locally on remote this jar won't be present and you won't be able to reference it.
From what I see this is the official jar: https://github.com/Paytm-Payments/Paytm_Web_Sample_Kit_Java/tree/master/Java%20Kit%201.8
However, it does not seem to be there on the paytm artifacts hosted on maven: https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.paytm. So you have 2 options now:
Add the jar to a nexus repo, or to a public repo(like maven) and reference it from there, this is quite complicated(https://www.baeldung.com/install-local-jar-with-maven/)
You can package this custom jar with your springboot jar.
a. Add it to your project location.<file>${basedir}/dependencies/PaytmChecksum.jar</file>
b. Now add this to your pom
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-install-plugin</artifactId>
<executions>
<execution>
<id>install-Transformation lib</id>
<phase>clean</phase>
<configuration>
<file>${basedir}/dependencies/PaytmChecksum.jar</file>
<repositoryLayout>default</repositoryLayout>
<groupId>org.paytm</groupId>
<artifactId>paytmchecksum</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
<packaging>jar</packaging>
<generatePom>true</generatePom>
</configuration>
<goals>
<goal>install-file</goal>
</goals>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
c. Clean the project mvn clean
d. Now reference the file using
<dependency>
<groupId>org.paytm</groupId>
<artifactId>paytmchecksum</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
</dependency>
e. build it using mvn clean install
The packaged jar will now contain your Paytm jar.

spring boot Version 1.3.8.RELEASE and Spring 4.2.5.RELEASE -> IllegalAccessError

You can't use Spring Framework 4.2.5 with Spring Boot 1.3.8. As described in the documentation, Spring Boot 1.3.8 requires Spring Framework 4.2.8 or above.
You'll need to make some changes to your pom so that 4.2.8 is used. That should be as simple as allowing Spring Boot's dependency management to control the version of Spring Framework. I can't say for certain exactly what change needs to be made as the pom in your question is incomplete.

When I start the Spring Boot application jar I get nothing about service listening on HTTP port or any error. Posting a bit obscured pom.xml and start-up screencap:

I notice that you are referencing a Stormpath version in the properties section.
Here's the minimal pom you'd need to include Spring Boot + Spring Security + Thymeleaf + Stormpath (Note: This includes all the other relevant Spring Boot starters):
<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd">
<modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion>
<groupId>**.***.****</groupId>
<artifactId>***</artifactId>
<version>0.1.0</version>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>com.stormpath.spring</groupId>
<artifactId>stormpath-default-spring-boot-starter</artifactId>
<version>1.0.RC5.1</version>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-maven-plugin</artifactId>
<executions>
<execution>
<goals>
<goal>repackage</goal>
</goals>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
</project>
The repackage goal on the spring-boot-maven-plugin gives you the nice uber jar.
Full Disclosure: I work for Stormpath.
This is because you have a missconfiguration in your logging.
Smth. like multiple appenders or so.
Just try to remove all the slf4j and logback dependencies.
Those will be added automatically for you.
The reason you 'see' the banner is because it gets printed via std out.
See this code from the SpringApplication.java
