unexpected output in docker container - shell

I have below script to get values from config:

export $varname=$(echo "$line" | cut -f2 -d '=')

echo $a
My config like below:
a="b"
when at my host, it print a as b, but in container, it print a as "b".
Could anyone know why?

Here is a pure bash option. escape takes care of " in either key or value. member generates a key: value pair, and members separate members with comma:

I know what it is doing. But i have a doubt about the flow of do while in this case. At line egrep -n "\\\\connect\ $DB_NAME" $DB_FILE | while read LINE will egrep runs first or while . Because DB_NAME is empty at start of code.
Could anyone please explain the flow of do while in this case.

how to read words from a file using shell script

i have a script to get the value repository/open_source/commons_collections and 3_2_2 by reading the file and looping through it using for loop

but when i run this code it gives me an error as

If you want to iterate through each line of a file, use while loop like below
while read -r line ;do

You may be better served relying on parameter expansion and substring removal. For example:

num=${num%%/*} ## remove from right to /
a=${a%%${num}*} ## remove from right to $num

You can write this part without the backticks:

with the backticks, it first executes what is inside the backticks and then tries to execute the output of the backticks.
and change the loop:

how to list file names into a function

I have a folder with a bunch of files, the files only have a url in it i.e
