No bulk model or foreach, just insert all statements.

Is there a way to tell if Oracle attempted an insert on a table from database logs?

We have a java application deployed on a production WebSphere server. The code is supposed to insert a row into a table, but it does not. I see no error messages in the application server logs. It is as if no attempt was made to insert the row. The same code deployed in a test environment does insert the row.
I would like to know if Oracle attempted to insert a row and then rolled it back for some reason. I am not familiar with Oracle at all. Is there a way to tell by looking at the database logs if an insert statement was executed on the table?
We are using Oracle 10

You can use DML before insert trigger. This trigger will execute each time a row is inserted into the given table.

An INSERT OVERWRITE TABLE will write to your database using the JDBC connection:
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS jdbcTemp;
CREATE TABLE jdbcTemp
USING org.apache.spark.sql.jdbc

You can write the dataframe with jdbc similar to follows.

Yes, you can. If you want to save a dataframe into an existing table you can use
df.insertIntoJDBC(url, table, overwrite)
and if you want to create new table to save this dataframe, the you can use
df.createJDBCTable(url, table, allowExisting)

Testing Insert All Oracle query with HSQL DB

I have a query on deciding how I should approach the problem below.
I got a query which tries to insert multiple rows into oracle db table, using an INSERT ALL INTO statement. (and this syntax is specific to ORACLE). But we use hsqldb as in memory DB for our test cases. (in test profile only)
The issue is HSQL DB will not accept the INSERT ALL INTO sql syntax. So we have to either skip test cases for this method, or write a query which inserts single records and invoke the query using a java for loop. Can someone please advice on what would be the best approach? I am assuming that there will not be a severe performance hit on invoking the insert from a java for loop as the loop will not be having more than approximately 20-30 iterations. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
The Oracle INSERT ALL allows multi-row inserts into single or multiple tables.
HSQLDB allows multiple row inserts into the same table using this syntax:
INSERT INTO t (col1, col2, col3) VALUES
('val1_1', 'val1_2', 'val1_3'),
('val2_1', 'val2_2', 'val2_3'),
('val3_1', 'val3_2', 'val3_3')

Best way to bulk insert data into Oracle database

I am going to create a lot of data scripts such as INSERT INTO and UPDATE
There will be 100,000 plus records if not 1,000,000
What is the best way to get this data into Oracle quickly? I have already found that SQL Loader is not good for this as it does not update individual rows.

Load the records in a stage table via SQL*Loader. Then use bulk operations:
INSERT INTO SELECT (for example "Bulk Insert into Oracle database")
mass UPDATE ("Oracle - Update statement with inner join")
or a single MERGE statement
To keep It as fast as possible I would keep it all in the database.
Use external tables (to allow Oracle to read the file contents),
and create a stored procedure to do the processing.
The update could be slow, If possible, It may be a good idea to consider creating a new table based on all the records in the old (with updates) then switch the new & old tables around.
How about using a spreadsheet program like MS Excel or LibreOffice Calc? This is how I perform bulk inserts.

How do inserts into sqlite views work?

I have a database schema which is identical in files 1.sqlitedb through n.sqlitedb. I use a view to 'merge' all of the databases. My question is: when i insert into the view, into which database does the data get inserted into? Is there any way to control which gets the data? The way that i need to split the data depends on the data itself. Essentially, i use the first letter of a field to determine the file that it gets inserted into. Any help would be appreciated. Writing to views is NOT supported for SQLite like it is with other dbs.

In order to achieve similar functionality, one must create triggers to do the necessary work.
We need to implement instead of trigger on the view (VIEW_NAME) . So when insert/update happens view . we can insert update underlying object (TABLE_NAME) in the trigger body.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but have you looked into using the ATTACH DATABASE command? It allows you connect separate database files to a single database. You can control INSERTs into a specific database by prefixing the database name (INSERT INTO db1.Table).
