which node modules is my nwjs app using? - node-modules

I have a lot of modules in the node_modules folder of my nwjs app. I want to know which ones are not used (anymore) by my app so I can uninstall them.
I suspect I haven't always added --save or --save-dev to the npm install command.
How can I find out which ones are used by nwjs and which ones I added without using --save?

How do I install vuetify directly from github?

When I try with
npm install vuetifyjs/vuetify#v1.5.2
I get "Cannot find package".
UPDATE:
There is a packages folder under which there is a vuetify directory.
I tried npm installing that folder. Everything appeared to go well until I started the dev server.
Now in the console log I see:
[Vuetify] Multiple instances of Vue detected
Seems to be related to https://github.com/vuetifyjs/vuetify/issues/4068 but I cannot tell what the solution is at this point.
I had the same issue to use my own version of Vuetify, waiting for my pull request being accepted.
Here what I did:
I build the vuetify project with my fix.
yarn
yarn build
Then I took the content of 'packages/vuetify' and put it in a new git repository. I remove the .gitignore to be able to commit built files (/es5, /lib, /lib-temp, /dist)
Finally I add this git repository to my project to replace my vuetify version:
npm install git+https://gitlab.com/GITLABUSERNAME/REPOSITORYNAME.git
Looking at the package.json file, the package doesn't have a name property, which it would need to have for you to be able to install it from GitHub.
So the short answer is that you can't install vuetify directly from GitHub via npm.
However, you can install it directly from npm:
npm install vuetify#1.5.2
You can't install vuetify directly from GitHub but you can edit code in 1 component node_modules/vuetify/lib/components/VSlider/VSlider.js Then, you install patch-package and execute path package vuetify Delete node modules and execute yarn to create new node modules Last, yarn serve, you see your code is work

nativescript 5.1 and tns_modules folder in IOS build

I had this issue before with some app (N 4.1).
Now i'm doing another app, and i have the same issue :
First, im preparing build:
tns build ios --for-device --release --provision MY_Provision
Nativescript is doing build, so next i'm opening it in XCode, and doing some twaks like version number etc...
Lastly i'm doing "Archieve" and trying to Validate this archieve.
The result is error, in the previous app written in N 4.1 i had the same but with another plugin, and now validation throws: Invalid build structure - binary app/rns_modules.fstevents.lib/binding/Release/FILE NAME.
many errors regarding this folder.
So i've just removed this directory and done another archieve and validation - app passed the validation.
So, my question is - do i need such number of plugins in tns_modules ?
Or better question - is there any way to determine what is not needed ?
Or, am i doing something wrong when building an app ? As seems massive number of directories here and i'm wondering if maybe there is some kind of cleanup or something ?
For now, the only way to store an app is to validate first, check what is blocking validation, delete this, check if app works (:() and try again.
Thank you.
Below, attached, folder that is blocking validation and amount of dirs inside of tns_modules.
pacakge.json:
NativeScript CLI will prepare (i.e. copy) all packages declared in the dependencies section of your package.json (and their dependencies) in tns_modules. All devDependencies and their dependencies will not be copied to the native Xcode/Android Studio project.
So, all packages that are required only for building the application, should be installed as devDependencies. For example, such packages are nativescript-dev-webpack, nativescript-dev-typescript, etc.
Also, it looks like you have installed NativeScript CLI as a dependency of your project. By default, it should be installed globally, i.e. npm i -g nativescript. In case you omit the -g flag, npm will install it as dependency of your project.
You can try:
rm -rf platforms
npm un --save nativescript
Check package.json for other packages with -dev in their names and ensure they are in the devDependencies section.
After that run tns build ios --forDevice.

not using nodes in laravel

Is that possible to completely remove node_modules folder from laravel app and not using it?
My app doesn't require any npm packages and I'm not using echo or pusher or any other API's that requires npm packages, then
Is it OK to remove this unnecessary folder in my app or somehow laravel
needs it to work?
If your project doesn't require node packages then you can remove it, it's not necessary to run Laravel project. But if you're using VueJS, or NodeJS then you need it.
composer update not download node packages, it only installs packages in vendor folder, node_modules is different which includes node packages.
If you want to install node packages, then use npm install command to install it again.
Hope this will helps you!
It is safe to remove the folder. The normal workflow would be to compile all CSS and JS files before deployment and copy them to the public/ directory, rendering the node_modules/ obsolete for deployment.
If anything breaks after you removed it, you can still bring it back with npm install.

File not found when using FacebookSDK with React Native < 0.40.0

I'm using React Native 0.37.0 (because my project uses react-native-navigation which is yet to support RN >= 0.40.0) and attempting to use the Facebook SDK.
I've followed the instruction steps on react-native-fbsdk's npm page, fully; and double-checked to ensure everything is installed, all the search paths are added etc.
When running my project in XCode I get a Buildtime error in the RCTFBSDK library. In the file RCTFBSDKAppEvents.h: 'React/RCTBridgeModuke.h' file not found.
The import line in that file is the new syntax for React 0.40.0:
#import <React/RCTBridgeModule.h>
Is there anything that I can do to make these versions of frameworks play together? I need the navigation library and the facebook one, so until I find a solution I'm completely blocked.
Anything else I can share to support an answer, just ask.
Probably because you are running the latest version of react-native-fbsdk which only works with RN >= 0.40.
Try uninstall react-native-fbsdk:
npm uninstall react-native-fbsdk --save
Then, reinstall with an older version:
npm install react-native-fbsdk#0.4.0 --save

Package nodejs application with global packages

We have a project which have to be packaged as a zip so we can distribute it to our cliens. With the normal node_modules directory i have no problems. I just put the directory and the node.exe together in my project folder and can start our project on every other computer without installing node or running any npm command.
But now i have a dependecy on phantomjs which needs to be installed as a global package npm install -g phantomjs.
How do i pack modules like this into our project? I first thought of copying phantomjs into the local node_modules directory and set the path variable NODE_PATH to this directory. It doesn't find phantomjs.
Development and client platforms are both windows.
Well, generally it is fine to install global dependencies with the --save flag and call their bins like ./node_modules/phantomjs/bin/phantomjs /*now executes*/ (just as an illustrative example).
However, with with Phantom it's not that simple, since it's downloading binaries and/or even compiling. You would have three options:
ssh into target and just npm install -g phantomjs before or define it in a manifest e.g. Dockerfile just like that, if you are using containers.
Compile it from source as advised here.
If you are using the CLI, then just the --save approach.
So I hardly advise just making a Docker image out of it and ship it as tarball. You can't zip the platform dependent Phantom installation, unfortunately.
Also lots of dependencies like karma-runner-phantomjs look for the path of the global dependencies to resolve it for their use.
