Question:
Is it possible to load a WordPress shortcode on demand, e.g. with a button?
Explanation:
I have a gallery plugin, it has a shortcode. Unfortunately, the plugin does NOT use image defer mechanism on page load. So it has too many image requests that hurt speed ranking.
Is this idea possible:
I want a "load gallery" button. When it's pressed, the gallery shortcode is loaded. Any recommendation / article / key concepts is welcomed. I don't even know where to start.
You can add custom buttons to the editor -> https://codex.wordpress.org/TinyMCE_Custom_Buttons

I'm creating some project using HippoCMS 10 and I need to add RichText editor as part of the page, so that customer can use it and fill something there. This editor must act exactly the same way as in Document Editor (customer can click Image button in toolbar and select image from ImagePicker dialog box).
Can't find anything about it in HippoCMS official documentation. I learned how to create custom plugins and how to integrate CKEditor into page separately, but for image picking, I need default behaviour as in Hippo.
How can I achieve this? Any help will be appreciated!
I think your question was answered on the community group. The answer there was:
"it should be quite easy to have a CKEditor in the website.
However, it doesn't really make sense to me to have site visitors able to pick CMS documents and images from the site. The picker dialogs are designed to work inside the CMS only. You should be able to create your own picker dialog that can read from a REST service that exposes the images/documents.
I don't think it will be possible to reuse the CMS picker dialog in the site."
and
"your use case is fine, when I said "it doesn't really make sense", I was really referring to the technical limitations of the pickers. You should be able to achieve what you want with a custom dialog that plugs into a REST service though. Unfortunately there is no quick solution for this that I can think of."
Just adding this for future reference.
A question about the Fullpage plugin: http://alvarotrigo.com/fullPage/
Fullpage.js creates a fullpage scrolling website design if you use this Jquery plugin on your website.
If you prefer you can add image tags to this website using attribute "data-src" instead of "src" which will lazy load images (they only show up when you scroll to them). This works perfectly, but not when you do a search on the page (CTRL-F). In that case it jumps to the right section and the right word on the page, and if that is a page with images, those images will not show up.
There undoubtedly would be a solution for that, but does anybody knows a solution?
There undoubtedly would be a solution for that,
Not really.
There's an open issue in fullpage.js issues forum and no solution has been found for it yet.
The only solution is using the fullpage.js options scrollBar:true or autoScrolling:false. which will create a normal scroll bar on the site.
ok so I have a main horizontal menu that appears on all pages, (company, products, about us) and I want another menu, (vertical accordion on the left side of the page) inside products:
phone
--samsung galaxy s4
--iphone 4
pc
--hp pavilion
--toshiba
and when I clic on any of the sections of the accordion menu the information about each product appears on the right using ajax. I have made the accordion menu as a custom html module and the same with the content that its supposed to appear on the right side (I used modules instead of articles).
Now I'm thinking that its probably better to create another menu for the accordion and that the content should be articles, but I dont know how to make it look like an accordion, and I still need help using ajax to show the content of each product.
the main thing is, I want to use ajax to replace one module for another when I clic on any section of the accordion menu. is there any way to do it, all I could find in google its how to change the main article of the page, for that i have to replace
jdoc:include type="component" and add an event with the url but that replaces everything and I just want to change the right module/article
something like this
I dont know if I explained myself well.
I used shaper helix 2 template
Any help would be appreciated.
Check for some extensions here: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/structure-a-navigation/menu-systems/accordion-menus
An advice... you better forget ajax to load the catalog because as it used on the example the product pages are missed by search engines, as spiders and crawlers doesn't execute javascript. Try to search for that domain... results don't have any product.
Good luck!
I want to have some text overlay on Images and am using WordPress.
See this site - http://www.gxigroup.com
On the site, in Center, you can see an Image whose description is hid just LEFT side. When the "Show Text" button is clicked, the text comes up on the Image.
My questions is, How can I get the same functionality on my website running WordPress?
You can do it by adding some javascript to your header.php template file. Start with these and you should be able to get it.

It can be easily done with jQuery. I recommend you to search on Google "jquery slide panel examples", theres millions of plugins that do the effect you want.
Some of them:

Having an issue with a wp theme and creator can't seem to help. It's Ajax driven and doesn’t support custom permalink...
So as soon as the website appeared on Google all link referred send to some black page which seem to be out of the website:
Link appearing in Google: www.thaiorchid.be/menus/ (black page)
Compared to the real webpage: www.thaiorchid.be/#menu-item-21
I start to have an idea of solution with: AJAX navigation in Wordpress - Trouble with Permalinks and tried it on the contact page www.thaiorchid.be/contact which doesn't redirect to the black page anymore but it's still not perfect compared to www.thaiorchid.be/#menu-item-19...
Any idea would be really welcome.
Thanks a lot,
Jonathan
Your site does not provide an appropriate fallback for non–JS browsers (e.g. most Google bots to my knowledge). This seems a (serious) shortcoming of the theme without knowing it any further.
If built properly, an “AJAX–enhanced” site like this should allow access to all content through basic HTML requests. If Javascript is available in a client, preferably the same content should be loaded using AJAX requests, allowing e.g. for faster page loads and nice transitions.
Another problem comes from a missing sub navigation. Since your sub menu (fly-out) is not available without Javascript, you would need to provide an alternative way to reach pages two levels deep and deeper.
Here's an example on how this page could/should work without Javascript:
1. Visit homepage
2. Click “Menus” in navigation
3. Opens “Menus” page, showing what the “black page” currently shows
+ proper header/footer
+ main navigation
+ sub navigation for all elements in “Menus” fly–out (“Potages, Entrées, …”)
4. Click “Potages”
5. View “Potages” page, again with proper
header/footer
+ main navigation
+ sub navigation for all elements in “Menus” fly–out
I know, you’re looking probably for a quick solution, maybe a snippet of code or a plugin to resolve your situation. Unfortunately — unless your theme provides you with some help — such a silver bullet doesn’t exist. The current implementation simply approaches the topic of an “AJAX site” in a fairly reckless way IMHO (you will be “happy” to know, that most screen readers won’t be able to access your content either) and until you re–build the theme or fix the structure you’re pretty much stuck with an unaccessible site.
