We are trying to migrate Sonarqube 6.5 from EC2 to Kubernetes and our database is in AWS RDS.
Steps I followed:
1) Launched sonarqube pod 6.7 with an empty DB(e.g sonark8s).
2) Backed up and restored existing Prod DB to new DB (sonark8s).
3) Restarted the pod and executed and then upgrade.
But, getting error 'Upgrade Failed: Database connection cannot be established. Please check database status and JDBC settings.'

I had the same error before and it was because Db already exists.
This type of issue arises when derby fails to write on to the disk. Restart command prompt using administrator. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved.

In the Jenkins configuration the Database URL, Database login en Database password are set correctly. With this URL and credentials it is possible to log in via a mysql command line client and we can view the sonar database tables.
We also checked the permissions of the database user and these are set correctly.
We checked the sonar.properties file and everything is commented out.
If we add sonar.jdbc.username and sonar.jdbc.password to the project properties, the connection with the database is successfull. But the password is in plain text then, which is unadvisable.
Does anyone know why the credentials of the system configuration is not used? And what is the solution? Is this a bug in SonarQube?

It seems your connection url, username and password values are not proper.If these three things are proper then the connection will be created.Check in your Jasper server configuration.
