Is there a way we can monitor the CPU utilisation of a linux server where my website has been hosted using any external tools available without installing any software on the server (i.e just using the IP address of the server).
Please let me know if that would be possible.
If your web tool includes some kind of performance monitor plugin you might set it up on a hidden page. But your tool might also include some kind of monitoring for your site.
But how much you can use the data you get returned is another matter as you most likely are run in a Docker in a WM that is optimal for the provider (and not for you).

I have TFS 2015 installed on one of the company's servers. I try to access TFS using web access and it is extremely slow, it takes more than 5 minutes for a page to load and sometimes even longer. If I restart the server, TFS becomes a little bit faster (a page would need only a minute or so to load), but soon it becomes slower.
The server itself is okay. The CPU and memory are not even fully utilized (~20% - ~40% is utilized).
Other applications that are installed on the server are working fine, so it's just TFS.
Any suggestions?
Log in the application tier machine to try to access the web access to see whether you can see the same behavior.
Check the network connection between the application tier machine and data tier machine if you set up TFS in a multiple server configuration. You may try to turn off the firewall and anti-virus software on the machines.
Clean the cache folder on the application tier, usually the folder locates in: C:\TfsData\ApplicationTier\_fileCache
Check the Requirements and compatibility, to see whether your TFS set up on a appropriate environment.
If the items above is not helpful. You may need to consider move your TFS to another hardware.
I'm developing a Ruby-on-Rails app which uses MS SQL Server db. I will need to automate the deployment to Windows servers because it will be distributed through different channels and the setup needs to be as automatic as possible. I have read that IIS is not a good solution so the setup process would need to install a web server (apache, Nginx or thin). I haven't used JRuby but I have heard it might make matters simpler on Windows.
Is there any good resources, software packages or suggestions on how this can be solved?

First, I guess I'd have to figure out if I'm running remotely and second I'd have to figure out whether my remote connection is a standalone remote app or an app running on a terminal server (that may be tricky).
But, once I've figured out all those awful things, is there a way to run a windows function like ShellExecute locally instead of remotely?
The reason I'd want to do this is because I launch a web browser to view rather high bandwidth things that require javascript and flash and certain sysadmins who administer our product aren't too keen on having to make unnecessary and insecure modifications to their terminal server farm.

I am developing a webapp that will be used on LAN mostly. I have different locations where I deployed this app. Some of the locations run windows and some run linux (no x-window system). I need to know if there is a software out there that could easily synchronize my files stored somehere in the cloud (the clouding service can be provided by the app developers or to use different clouds) on both linux and windows machines. My english is a bit rusty so i'm going to explain this in simple words.
I will work on my local machine. I want to upload the files somewhere on the cloud and the clients installed on the LAN servers should synchronize the files. The client must be available for linux under console (as a daemon if possible) while on windows it can be something like dropbox or ubuntu one.
Does somebody know of such an app?

You could also investigate unison.
I think "Git" is the best solution to develop your project in different machine.
You can sync your code with easy command through this app, and it will record all the version of your code.
Just google "Git tutorial", and you will find many useful introductions.

I'm finding an non-daemon, interactive-mode only, portable(moveable) FTP server for Mac OS X.
Like MAMP.
This will be used temporarily for local development only. Not for service.
Just file listing and serving(download) features required. Complex features like account management or SSL are not required.
This should be run as an UI application, and should not depend on system setting. Whole server should possible to be moved with only folder copying.
Is there a solution like this?
Woof is a web not ftp server. Minimal and almost trivial to use. Depending on you use case it might work for you.
