Cmake generation is OK, but make is failed with this error:

So ctpublic.h is included, but where SQLDA is defined is not.
Adding this does not help:

PostgreSql 9.6.8 library is also used in my project.
UPDATE:
Just figured out that these 2 libraries have 2 same files "sqlda.h".
How it can be resolved?
Any suggestions?

Found solution - used PostgreSQL library version 10.4 instead of 9.6.8 and errors are gone. Enjoy.

I am trying to build a haskell project from Ludum Dare, but whenever I attempt the build I get an error message saying the object file has too many sections. Here is the error:

I am using stack 2.3.3 and Windows 10. The project uses the vulkan library.
I tried adding -opta-mbig-obj, but gcc then failed with error: unrecognized command line option '-mbig-obj'
It looks like you may need to try explicitly using the “large object” file format, which I believe you can do by adding -opta-mbig-obj or -Wa,-mbig-obj to the GHC flags in the project’s build config (package.yaml or .cabal file) to add -mbig-obj to the assembler options. You may also need to add --oformat pe-bigobj-x86-64 to the linker flags, using (I think) -optl--oformat -optlpe-bigobj-x86-64 or -Wl,--oformat,pe-bigobj-x86-64. Are you using a 32-bit MinGW? I would expect MinGW64 to handle this by default. (And I’m not actually sure whether 32-bit supports these flags, so you may need to upgrade anyway.)
Since about a year ago (https://gitlab.haskell.org/ghc/ghc/-/commit/1ef90f990da90036d481c830d8832e21b8f1571b) GHC already uses the -mbig-obj and --oformat,pe-bigobj-x86-64 when assembling and linking on 64 bit MinGW. Adding these flags manually will not help on recent GHC versions.
I was able to replicate this problem for both the sdl2 and vulkan Haskell packages using Stack, however neither of them exhibit this issue when compiled with Cabal (and --enable-split-sections) on Windows; this looks to be a bug in stack.

Linking libxml with MinGW using OMNETPP shell on windows 10

How can I link libxml on MinGW when using an omnetpp shell?
I am using omnetpp on a windows 10 machine.
My problem happens when I am trying to install the 3rd party package from here
I think that there is a problem in the Makefile failing to locate the libxml library
Following Rudi's answer (following the question) I changed the Makefile libxml path to I/mingw64/include/libxml2 but I still
get a undefined reference to 'xmlFunctionName' error (for many function names)
I tried to isolate the problem and to compile a sample of code from libxml2
Following the compilation guide: using gcc `xml2-config --cflags --libs` -o tree2 tree2.c
I got a fatal error: 'libxml/parser.h' file not found
When I replaced xml2-config --cflags --libs with -I/mingw64/include/libxml2
I got the same error as before undefined reference to 'xmlFunctionName'
what can I do to resolve that issue?
To this specific problem: libxml2 is actually already present as OMNET 5.x also uses it. All dependencies and tools are available in the tools/win64/mingw64 directory. The problem is that (for unknown reasons) the include file of the include/libxml2/libxml folder. The configure script correctly detects this and makes it available in the Makefile.inc as XML_CFLAGS= = -I/mingw64/include/libxml2
This must be added to the compiler flags for each file where you want to use the XML parser. (the library files are in the /mingw64/lib folder) so those are detected and can be used without additional config.
Generally, third party libraries should be available in the /mingw64/include and /mingw64/lib folders. You can either copy them manually there or try to install it with the mingw package manager (however that will most likely ruin your omnet installation as mingw64 is not particularly consistent and it is a rolling release - i.e. this is highly not recommended).

MinGW g++: Multiple definition of vsnprintf when using to_string

I just started using MinGW for Windows. When trying to create executable using
g++ a.cpp -o a.exe -std=c++14
for the code below:

I'm getting following error:

What is the root cause for this error and how can I make it go away? While I can easily find a replacement for to_string() function I'm not sure what is causing this error to occur in the first place.
Installing MinGW packages mingw32-libmingwex-* will link an appropriate version of vsnprintf and avoid the linker error.
This issue, i.e. multiple definition of vsnprintf, still exists in MinGW as December 2019.
After investigating a lot, I found the solution in the official mailing list.
It's a bug in mingwrt-5.2.2. Downgrading to the mingwrt-5.2.1 version solves that issue.
To do that, just input the following command:
mingw-get upgrade mingwrt=5.2.1
Then restart the MinGW shell.

Note: MinGW-w64 and MinGW are separate projects, so the accepted solution is not so helpful to me, as I want to keep MinGW and not to move to MinGW-w64.
I solved this issue using MinGW w64 compiler
download mingw-w64-install.exe
setup to Version: 6.3.0, Architecture: i686, Threads: posix, Exception: dwarf and Build revision: 2.

There are multiple definitions of vsnprintf in both stdio.h and libmingwex.a. I am able to work this around by adding #define __USE_MINGW_ANSI_STDIO 0 to the start of the code, before any includes, which disables the definition of vsnprintf in stdio.h.

Problem installing OpenCV 2.3 (new version) in OS X

I notice that yesterdaya new version of OpenCV was released, v2.3.
I can't install this version in my Mac using cmake and the basic instructions to compilate the sourcecode for Linux & Unix.
I obtained this error message when I execute the make instruction:

There is no problem when installing OpenCV 2.2 using cmake. I think there is an error or a mistake with OSX version of OpenCV 2.3 version.Or I made something wrong ???

You likely have a previous version of opencv2 installed already. Check /opt/local/include and /opt/local/lib. If this is the case, these locations likely take precedence on you system PATH when you try to compile opencv2.3 resulting in the above errors. Either remove the old opencv version or temporarily move that relate to opencv2 from the above mentioned folders while you compile the new version.
I'm not sure your build won't have any more errors, but a quick hack is to protect those constants on a #ifdef block.
Go to those lines where the error occurs and notice that those 2 constants are used to initialize an int array named domains. You can change it's definition to:

I just downloaded OpenCV 2.3 and compiled it using the standard procedure and everything went fine. No errors!

Unable to build Boost libraries with GCC

I am using Windows 7 64-bit, and want to compile the non-precompiled libraries (specifically, I need Filesystem) from the command line (I do not use MSVC). I have MinGW, but read on the Boost website that MSYS shell is not supported, so I'm trying to compile the libraries from the Windows command prompt.
First of all, running bootstrap.bat results in the following error:

Following Andre's suggestion, I created minGW-bjam that was running for an hour and a half and built most of the libraries, but not the one I need at this moment: Filesystem.
Trying to compile only Filesystem, specifying version 2 with define="BOOST_FILESYSTEM_VERSION=2" and --disable-filesystem3 does not help. I get the following error:

It's easy. Just use "bootstrap.bat gcc" to select GCC
The bootstrap script assumes the msvc compiler is available. But you can build bjam by hand without the bootstrap script:
Step into the tools\build\v2\engine\src directory and call "build.bat mingw". It will create a bjam.exe. You can then put it in your %PATH% or perhaps in the root boost directory...
To be honest, I usually build bjam like this with the msvc compiler and use this "msvc-bjam" to build my mingw boost libraries.
So... the first part of the problem was solved by Andre's suggestion.
The second part was solved by setting the variable BOOST_FILESYSTEM_VERSION to 3 everywhere (the error above complains about incompatibility with what is set in file user.hpp). Although this is not the default option for Boost 1.45 that I'm using, it's the only thing that works (i.e. bjam wants to compile version 3 no matter what). So now I have version 3 of the filesystem library, and version 2 for all others, but that doesn't seem to be an issue for the moment.
I do have a problem with using Boost with OpenCV and Eigen libraries, though... off to the next challenge ;)
Since I can't comment yet, I want to add that I ran
bootstrap mingw
to generate b2 properly and then
b2 --build-dir="c:\boost_release" toolset=gcc --build-type=complete "c:\boost_release\stage"
The includes will be located at your boost root folder (boost_1_58_00/boost) and your binaries at the specified build folder.
