Starting maven project with ERROR - spring

Question

I'm having trouble starting any maven project.
I already checked and can access -> curl -v http://repo1.maven.org
I do not have a proxy and my OS is ubuntu 18.
Using maven via eclipse, also of error.

This sounds like a config issue with your settings.xml or something - if Maven was previously working successfully before you tried this command you can make a backup of your .m2 repository and also your current settings.xml mine is located in my User folder under:
I would make a backup of the settings.xml - grab a template one from the web and try running maven commands afterwards from the command line
