setting PDF output name dynamically ion Rmarkdown - rstudio

I am looking for a way to define the name of my rendered pdf from within the code.
I know I could render the 'md' but I would like to make this included in the Rmd instead so that I can render from within RStudio.
The name will be defined in the R code in some chunk and is not known in advance (therefore cannot be places in the YAML).
Is there a way like
opts_chunk$set(render_output_name=)
??
Also setting the path where to save would be really cool
Thanks

How can I the image start from a new line when using dita-ot-3.0 pdf plug outputting PDF?

hope someone to help me, thanks!
When I use dita-ot-3.0 to output pdf, I find in many places, the images are displayed in the same line with text.
I try two plugins:
- default pdf2 plugin
- a customization pdf plugin using PDF Plugin Generator at https://github.com/jelovirt/dita-generator (I didnot find any place to set image attribute)
So here is my question, I write xml like this:
source xml file
When I output pdf, I get this:
image is shown in the same line with text
there are many other images showing like that. How can I make the image show starting from a new line? Am I misusing the element? Is the difference between inline element or block?
You should be able to do this by setting the attribute placement="break" to the <image> element. This is explained in the spec.

Passing Markdown Content to Ruby Function With Jekyll/Liquid

I am trying to write a jekyll plugin that will take a normal markdown file and provide some extra functionality on top of it. In particular, I need to do some (not actually) fancy things with tables. I know you can write straight HTML into a markdown file, but there is a requirement that the content folks don't want to / can't edit HTML.
As an extra wrench in the works, the mobile layout has a UX requirement that I essentially have to render the table as a group of divs as opposed to a table.
My initial thought was to pass the {{page.content}} variable to a ruby function extending Liquid::Tag. From there I was planning on parsing the markdown file and either:
1. If normal non-table markdown, use as normal
2. If table markdown, look for custom identifier in markdown, do what needs to be done (e.g. add class, etc)
If I do something like this:
def render(context)
content = Liquid::Template.parse(#markup).render context
end
It renders the context as a normal markdown file. However, I want to break up the context variable and work with the pieces before rendering. I've tried a few different approaches that I've gotten from the jekyll docs and Stack Overflow and gotten nowhere.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I am heading down the right path? For what it's worth, Ruby/Jekyll/Liquid is fairly new to me, so if you think I may have missed something fairly basic and obvious then please let me know.
A markdown table tool for editors !
markdownify your table in http://www.tablesgenerator.com/markdown_tables
paste the markdown result in http://prose.io/
done
I don't know other way to simplify editor's work on Jekyll, but I'll be very interested in earing from your project. Good luck.

Using variables in custom joomla module for tooltips

I'm new to joomla development, but I can't seem to figure out how to dynamically fetch descriptions to be displayed as tool tips for the form data of a module backend. I'm looking at an example module from joomlart and their code for a single field element in their xml file looks like this.
<field
name="mainWidth"
type="text"
default="auto"
size="5"
label="MAIN_WIDTH"
description="MAIN_WIDTH_DESC" />
MAIN_WIDTH and MAIN_WIDTH_DESC are obviously variables that are somehow being accessed and rendered later when the module is run in the backend but I can't find where the values to these variables are stored or how to replicate this behavior. Any help would be appreciated.
Label is the label that prints to screen, and description is rendered as the tooltip.
You can just replace these variable names with the actual text and it will work when the form is rendered.
However, in your example, I believe they are using language files to get the text to display.
Whilst you can set a language file within your module for that module's use, naming convention suggests to me that these are being pulled from somewhere like the template's language file.
( Such a file is likely to be found either under /language or /administrator/language or /templates/yourtemplate/language )
The benefit of such files is to allow for translations of the site to exist without having to write a new module / template each time.
Ultimately, if you don't want various language versions of your site, and you only intend to use the module on one site and not sell it as an extension, then there is no strong need to create a language file for your own bespoke modules (though best practise would probably be to do so).

regarding image downloading function

Can anyone help me to solve my issue regarding the image downloading function? The situation goes like this: actually I wanna download a gantt chart image from a site that generates some string url as the image! not even http://www.example.com/img/image.png but something like http://www.example.com/img/index.php?=task&d=&Work=0...
Disregarding what language or environment you are working in, simply using the full URL with all the GET variables in place will provide you with the image.
It should not matter.
Judging from your comments below, your code is not working because you are using PHP's htmlspecialchars function.
Htmlspecialchars will turn symbols that you cannot represent in HTML output simply by adding them to the source of an html document (such as &, < and >) into identifiers that will let the browser know what kind of character to render.
for instance the ampersand (&) could be rendered by & the HtmlSpecialChars function does this for you.
When your backend code is outputting parts of html source that aren't visible to the user, such as the source of an image in this case, you do not want to use that function.
It will invalidate the URL by replacing all the & instances in the url by &
Simply do this:
<?php print($url); ?>

Confluence export dynamic PDF title

I am using Confluence 4.0.3, I am trying to create a PDF layout/stylesheet so that it would grab the main title from the page content and move it to the title page.
What I have tried so far:
use the way that confluence suggests - it did not work well at all because it came with extra toc (np, I can hide it) and extra page content because it requires me to export from the parent level for it to work
I define a macro which contains the page title and I can use css to make it land on the title page. This works however if I was to export multiple docs this could pose a issue
Style the h1:first-child, this works but again on multiple docs this would be an issue.
Question: Is there a good way to do this on multiple doc exports? If not, does the page title have its own class that I can target instead of the h1:first-child? I tried h1.pagetitle (in their documentation) but it does not work, thanks
I used a user defined macro to put the title in and use the PDF export css to position it on the title page. This works as long as you are only exporting 1 document at the exporting level. If you are exporting 2 or more docs from the same exporting level then you can only define 1 of the macros or else they will all be at the same position on the title page.
This seems like the easiest way I found to implement something like this.
I would try employing a minor work-around. You could use a .asp page, which is located off of confluence, to pull the the pdf title and display it how you like. Then you can use an html-include macro to display the .asp page, and the pdf title it shows, wherever you like on confluence.
