How do I copy the debug window contents including timestamps? - visual-studio-2013

I just installed Productivity Power Tools for VS2013. Now each line in the Debug Output window is prepended by a timestamp:
I'd like to save the window contents to file, but if I select all the text in the window and copy it to a new window, I only get the text of the messages - the copy contains no timestamp info.
How can I copy the window contents and get the timestamps too?

Auto Save File extension for Visual Studio repeatedly displays file save dialog

When I add a table in Visual Studio's SQL Server Object Explorer then a file save dialog pops up to save the SQL query:
I'm saving the file but it doesn't help. Every time when the query window loses focus this window pops up again.
How can I turn off this pop up window?
I found out that the error is caused by the Auto Save File extension (it saves any script if the window loses focus).
To fix the problem I just exclude sql files saving:

Text disappears when changing the font

When I change the font in WinDbg, the text disappears. I have to restart WinDbg to see text again, but then, the font setting is gone.
Before:
After changing the Font to Lucida Console 14:
Version at the time of writing: WinDbg 10.0.10586.567
There seem to be 2 questions:
How can I get the color back without restarting
How do I save the font in the workspace
Get the color back
This only happens in customized workspaces like yours. The text is not really gone but its color seems to be reset to black. The text is still there and can be selected:
To partially fix this, you can go to the View/Options menu, select the text color entry (no need to change) and click Ok.
Doing so might be needed twice:
when the focus is in the output window
when the focus is in the command prompt
Doing that will not affect the readability of existing text but the output of any new commands will be displayed in green color again.
Store the font in the Workspace
WinDbg knows several workspaces and when you chose "Save Workspace" it probably saved into a very specific one (specific to an executable or a crash dump).
To have the font settings always, it needs to be saved in the "base" Workspace. To do that:
open WinDbg without running a program and without opening a dump file
change the font
set the color again
save the Workspace (File / Save Workspace)
In some versions of WinDbg, e.g. 6.3.9600, this does not seem to be enough. In that case,
open WinDbg without running a program and without opening a dump file
change the font
set the color again
set the window to restored size (i.e. not maximized)
move the window to a different position
save the Workspace (File / Save Workspace)
maximize the window (if you want it maximized)
save the Workspace again (if you want it maximized)

Is there a way to switch in OSX, the file prompt to accept a file name as string?

I am using automation to open a file in an application (same as doing "open" from the File menu of iTunes to pick a file). In the past the file prompt would be available also to accept a string, but in the more recent version of OSX, I can't see how you pass a file.
The only thing that you can do is to choose the file with the mouse, but there is no text field to type the file name.
Is there a way to switch to the old file prompt? my automation sadly does not work anymore, since it is expecting a text field that is not there.
The open panel never supported an immediately visible text input field. You're probably thinking of the save panel.
That said, you can bring up a sheet that allows for text input by pressing Command-Shift-G. This is also the same keyboard combination as the Go > Go to Folder menu item in the Finder. In that sheet, you can type a Unix-style path to a file or folder. After you confirm the sheet, that file or folder will be selected in the dialog. You still have to confirm the dialog itself.
As a further shortcut, the Go sheet shows if you just start typing an absolute path, starting with either "/" or "~" (for the home folder).
Any other typing will perform type-to-select in the file list.

Change all file icons with same type [Yosemite]

I have many excel files in my computer, and the icon of all of them are plain paper, like this:
I want all icons to be .numbers icon. Do anyone know how to do that ?
Here's what you could do :
Open a Finder window and navigate to /Applications/
Find the app whose file icon you want to change
Right click it and select "Show Package Contents"
Navigate to Contents/Resources/ and find the appropriate icon file. Replace it with your new icon file.
Restart your computer to update the icon cache.
Or you can change the default app for a file type and set all files of that type to be associated with the default app if that's what your question says:
Open a Finder window and locate the file type you want to change.
Push Command+i or go to File > Get Info
Under "Open With" select the app you like. You have just changed the default app for that individual file.
To change the default for all files of that type, push the "Change All" button and then "Continue"
This will make all your excel files to open with numbers while the previous one will just change the icon
To change the file icon on all you files icons with the same extension:
open Get Info panel file 1, that you want to change
open Get Info panel file 2, that you want to change to
drag and drop icon from panel file 1 to panel file 2
click Change All...
with Finder open "Show View Options" or command + J
drag Icon size as you wish. This force icons cache rebuild
Here is a simple solution that works all times:
Find the file with icon that you want to apply for (ex: *.numbers file), then Command + i to open it's info Panel
Find the file you want to apply the icon for (ex: your *.xlsx) file. then Command + i to open it's info Panel
Now that you have your two file's info panel side by side, you can drag the icon from the first file's panel ( only from header/title bar ) and apply it to a second file's panel, as shown: (you must place the icon over the second icon to make it work, I didn't make it overlap just for taking a clear screenshot)
Open a champagne and celebrate!
You have to empty your cache for icons after you have changed the icon or switched the file association program.
Not sure the exact filename, but use it to empty both cache folders. ~/Library/Caches and /Users/User/Library/Caches
