Android Studio is very sluggish and runs super slow
I am a newbie to Android Studio - can you help me with his problem?

except these i'm upgraded ram and i'm bought ssd

It runs so slow due to emulator which is occupying more ram.don't use emulator if you want to run smoothly, use it by realdevice by usb so that you can find the errors speedly and you don't feel slow when compared with previous time taken.I untick emulator when installing it gives me some speed so once you try like this.If any help let me know

Can Visual Studio 2017 be installed and used on Windows 10 on ARM (i.e. Asus NovaGo)?

I am struggling to find information on this. Of course certain features such as docker and hyper-v will not function, but will Visual Studio 2017 be able to be installed and run on a Windows 10 always-connected ARM device? Like, would typical desktop/web development scenarios with .NET/C++/Python work?
Cheers.
Yes, it is possible. I just got a Asus Nova Go and tried it. Compiling and running a basic .net Core app (with an Avalonia UI) worked just fine but there are some limitations and corner cases that hopefully will get fixed.
Visual Studio takes long to launch, and when lauched is not very performant.
I think the Lenovo Yoga C630 is snappier, because of the bigger 8GB RAM and the Snapdragon 850.
If you have any further questions let me know

I'm running Xamarin in visual studio and the main.storyboard is really slow to load. How to speed this process up?

I'm new to Xamarin platform and had been working with it for just about 2 weeks. I got all the basic setups configured, I have already managed to simulate it on my iPhone (provisioned through my macbook).
My main issue is every time when I want to continue to work on it, the main.storyboard takes forever to load. At first it was bearable, but it's happening everyday (we're talking, 15-30 minutes) and since I'm going to be working on it for quite some time, is there a way to speed up this process?
Running on Visual Studio 2015
& I'm using Xamarin Visual Studio 4.1, Xamarin Studio 6.1.0 and Xamarin.iOS 10
My pc is Windows 7, Xeon 3.2GHz 16GB ram and Macbook Pro Mid 2012 i5 2.5GHz 4GB ram
Any help or tips would be much appreciated!

Appcelerator studio won't start (no loading screen)

I'm trying to run appcelerator studio in my Desktop.
AMD Athlon II x4 640 3.00 GHz
Ram 4gb
64bit win 8.1
120Gb SSD Samsung 840 EVO
so, in my laptop i7 8gb ram etc.. run smoothly.
When I'm trying to start the studio doesn't respond, not even in task manager.
I'm using CLI and work fine..
I can't find any log file. Which appc studio keep in workspace which one I have no create yet because I can't open the studio.
I run the command appc platform to start the studio from the CMD but nothing happens and this message appears:
{"success":false,"description":"platform command usage: appcelerator platform <api> <method/arguments>"}
I uninstalled AVAST and check first the blocked programs, but nothing..
I disabled Windows firewall too.
Reinstalled the studio many times using different versions of node. But nothing.
And of course I tried to come in contact with the appc team but I can't....
I'm thinking about 4Gb ram limitation; if that blocks the program from starting.
I also try to open the program logged in and logout from CLI.
Any idea? any one with the same problem?
I am not stuck in loading screen the studio try to verify my account and communicate with server.
Studio just won't start at all.
I'm sorry for my bad English.
sorry for your issue.
First - I am assuming your running Windows (Linux is no longer supported)
The CLI command your using appc platform does not launch studio. That is used for accessing platform APIs and thus requires you to provide an API to use.
To launch studio from the CMD line on Windows you would need to cd into your Appcelerator Studio directory and run the associated program. When installing studio, we do put an icon on the desktop, which is by far the easiest way to start it up.
Your right about your RAM limitation. While you'll find that studio does "run" it will be extremely slow, especially once you start using the Android / Windows emulators etc. Windows takes up 1-2GB of Ram on its own, leaving very little for any development tools.
Our recommended configuration for Windows machines is:
* Windows 8.1 or higher
* 16GB of RAM
I would also think about a faster proc as well.
We are in the process of updating our documentation on the pre-reqs' as its a bit misleading. While we say 4GB of RAM is suitable, what we are talking about is 4GB of 'free memory' on top of everything else you have running, not 4GB of total system memory.

Windows Phone 7 emulator doesnt work properly and just flickers

Windows Phone 7 emulator doesn't work properly on my laptop.
It just flickers instead of starting my app. Clicking on any of the buttons has no effect. (None of the emulators work, tried 256MB, 512MB, and the ones installed by WP 7.8 SDK Update) WP 7.8 SDK Update didn't solve anything.
I'm using a Samsung NP300E5A-S06 notebook, and it has:
Core i5 3210M 2.5Ghz
Intel HD Graphics 4000 + GeForce GT 620M
6GB of RAM
Here is a video of what's happening on my machine.
I heard this can be caused by the Intel HD Graphics 4000. But we can't force WP Emulator to use the GeForce.
How can I make the WP7 emulator work properly?
If you have any idea or a working solution, please help me!
Thanks in advance!
First, download and install the latest GPU drivers for both GPUs. If it will help, you're lucky: I had something very similar on machine (dual GPU Intel + NVidia as well), and was unable to find a fix.
My advice - upgrade to Windows 8, install visual studio 2012, and WP8 SDK. Fortunately, with the recent version of the SDK you can still build for the previous WP 7.1 platform. And even if xde.exe still won't work on your laptop, you can test and debug the application you're building on new HyperV-based WP8 emulators.
sorry, I cant comment.
Did you try repairing the installation?
Also completely removing and then re-installing?
EDIT:
Also you can try running it on a virtual machine on your laptop (Maybe there is some problem in your Windows installation - after all its Windows ;) )
i think i have had series of problems with that emulator months ago, but now, all is just well. i have some questions for you.
1) Which version of Visual Studio are you using. i believe it should be visual studio 2010
2) have you installed visual studio 2010 service pack 1? if no, try to download it and install
3) which version of .net framework are you using? Visual Studio installs .net3.0 automatically but i guess you have to install the service pack 1 too. you can download it or get it from windows update. in the update settings, choose"check for updates but let me choose which to download and install" then check the two or three check boxes below. then click okay and check for updates. you will then install updates for visual studio 2010 and .net framework.
those should help.

Visual Studio 2010 - Very slow display update on MacPro running Win7/Bootcamp

I'm a .Net developer running Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) on a 2010 MacPro (2.27Ghz/6GB RAM) using Bootcamp. Until about a month ago its been, imo, the ultimate dev workstation. However recently I've noticed that Visual Studio 2010 takes a very long time to redraw its windows. This is most noticeable when switching to it after its been in the foreground.
I don't get this problem with other Windows apps and am baffled because the machine has more than enough grunt to handle a few MDI'd windows yet grinds for up to five minutes sometimes when reactivating the VS environment - the screen update seems to slow everything down. My colleagues are using identical hardware and software but running Windows under Parallels on their Macs does not lead to this behaviour.
I'm getting desperate (and I've asked this same question at apple.stackexchange.com) - does anyone know why this might be happening and whether there's a fix ...?
Improving Performance by Changing the Visual Experience
You might have a problem with Hardware Acceleration in VS2010. I had an issue with rendering applications built using WPF because of this.
Give it a try:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/zainnab/archive/2010/06/22/improving-performance-by-changing-the-visual-experience-vstipenv0017.aspx
And if that doesn't fix your issue, go to your video card settings (nvidia or amd) and do a "reset settings". Then try again.
