I deleted the whole directory /System/Library/Speech/Voices/ by mistake.
Stupid I know... How do I get it back with minimal damage?
Is there somewhere the default voice file to download?
There was an old post on MacRumors but the link is dead...
OSX = 10.10.5
Thanks!
Download the Yosemite Installer (in AppStore.app > Purchased)
Download Pacifist
Open the Yosemite installer package with right-click > Show Package Contents
Navigate to ./Contents/SharedSupport
Open OSInstall.mpkg with Pacifist
The voices are in the packages
EssentialSystemSoftware > AdditionalSpeechVoices
EssentialSystemSoftware > EssentialSystemSoftwareGroup > BaseSystemResources
EssentialSystemSoftware > EssentialSystemSoftwareGroup > Essentials
Copy the files and make sure that you restore also the original access privileges root:wheel 644. This is crucial.

I'm a high school kid who's clueless about computing. I need to use PLINK on my MacBook for a bioinformatics project but I'm not sure how to even run it after downloading it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Firstly, you have to have jre or jdk installed. You can download jdk 8 (my preferred one) from the link. Just select the MacOS tab, and proceed.
Once downloaded, double-click to install.
Then, you have to download the application zip (here).
Extract it.
Double click on the gPLINK.jar in the extracted folder. If you faced an error, do the following: Open System Preferences> navigate to Security & Privacy icon > click on the lock icon below and enter password if required >on General tab, allow the program to be run.
Now the program must be launched successfully. You can move the .jar file to a desirable location, so that you will not forget where it was located.

this is such a beginners question but nevertheless wanted some of your input.
I tried installing SublimeText4 and noticed that there is no .dmg file associated with it, all i get .zip - is this normal? Usually with SBT3 and Pycharm I was used to at least some 'install' procedures.
Kind of new to Mac OS, so thanks for the help.
The DMG approach is common, but in this case, the ZIP file has the application. Often the browser will automatically unzip it for you, but if not, just double click on the ZIP file and the application will be extracted for you. Then you can just drag the app extracted from the ZIP file to your “Applications” folder and you are done.

There is a "Sublime Text" folder in my "/Volumes" directory. Why is it there and not in Applications? I do not know how Mac's applications work. I am new to Mac.
You can install your application to any folder you want. I found a nice description to install an application on a macos. If you do the installation you only copy the application from the dmg file to the applications folder. Maybe you can remove your installed sublime text by moving the application to the trash and reinstall it.
At the end I would recommend you to use Homebrew/Cask to install your applications. I think that makes it easier if you do not want to use the graphical user interface.

I have a dummy question because I nothing understand in OSX.
I use Visual Studio for Windows and build Xamarin iOS app. Visual Studio uses Mac as build server. After the build process I need to upload *.ipa file to iTunesConnect through ApplicationLoader on OSX. And I encountered a problem, I cannot find my file from ApplicationLoader.
I found that file is placed in 'Untitled/Users/alexey/Library/...etc'. But I haven't see Library folder. What does it mean?
In macOS the Library folder of the user domain is hidden by default.
To show it temporarily
In Finder open the Go menu and press the ⌥(option)-key. Choose the Library menu item.
In Finder press ⇧⌘G, type ~/Library and press return
To show it permanently
Select your home folder, press ⌘J to show the View Options and check the checkbox at the bottom.

I am trying to find the location of my iPhone simulator documents. But when I click on /Users/UserA I don't see Library in there. How do I turn that on?
It hasn't been visible since Lion, I believe. You can set it to unhidden using the chflags command (from Terminal.app):
$ chflags nohidden ~/Library
In Mavericks, you can navigate to your home folder (e.g. /Users/UserA) in the Finder and choose the View > Show View Options menu item, or type ⌘J. In the view options panel, there’s a checkbox called Show Library Folder.
