Why some performace fields from google ads api can't be together? - google-api

Ad Performance Report states that some fields are not compatible with the some fields such as ConversionCategoryName. It can't be together impressions, clicks, cost... etc.
However They can be show together in the same table on Google ads platform.

It is not always possible to compare results of the API and results of the web application. Googles web applications have different permissions then they give to developers.
If you are seeing compatible with the some fields such then you cant use that in the API there is no work around for that.

Places API returning NOT_FOUND

Since this morning the Places API has returned NOT_FOUND results for every single place ID we've tried searching for.
We regularly query the API to check details & it has been running fine for over a year but today it's fell over and only returns NOT_FOUND, for over 300 different place ids.
Is there a current issue with the API?
I contacted Google Cloud support today about this because it still hasn't changed.
Yes they no longer support Service area businesses in the Places API. Here is their response:
Thank you for contacting Maps Platform Technical Support. My name is Ana and I'm here to assist you.
Places API mission is to enable developers to help users find relevant places to visit. Since Service Area Businesses are not places users can visit, they do not belong in the Places API. That is the reason why you cannot search it in Places API and it is an intended behavior.
Business owners can fix this via MyBusiness IF they have a brick-and-mortar shop
(a shop someone can visit on the streets).
I find this shocking that developers are unable to pull out information about any ACTIVE business on Google. I have responded with my own views but as expected Google will not change their stance.
Well that is very confusing to customers. You (rightly so) allow local listings to be setup as service area businesses. Why should only brick and mortar shops be allowed to utilise the Place API? That’s separating the market for businesses to advertise properly and surely is not legal.
Regardless of if you agree about service area businesses not being allowed to be shown on Maps – there is no reason that an ACTIVE business should not return details through a Development API which has no public facing impact. It is stifling the support agencies and businesses can provide to its customers.
We're denied access to the Google My Business API and then resort to pulling out data via the Places API and now we can no longer do that.
You should at the very least provide some kind of development data for ANY business that is available on Google, whether that be via the Places API or not – business owners should have a right to pull out data about their own business at any time.

how to implement Complex Web API queries in ASP Core

I'm new to web API design, so I've tried to learn best practices of web API design using these articles:

Apigee is recommending web API developers to use these recommendations to have better APIs.
I quote here two of the recommendations:

GET /dogs?color=red&state=running&location=park
Partial response allows you to give developers just the information they need.
Take for example a request for a tweet on the Twitter API. You'll get much more than a typical twitter app often needs - including the name of person, the text of the tweet, a timestamp, how often the message was re-tweeted, and a lot of metadata.
Let's look at how several leading APIs handle giving developers just what they need in
responses, including Google who pioneered the idea of partial response.
LinkedIn
/people:(id,first-name,last-name,industry)
This request on a person returns the ID, first name, last name, and the industry.
LinkedIn does partial selection using this terse :(...) syntax which isn't self-evident.
Plus it's difficult for a developer to reverse engineer the meaning using a search engine.
Facebook
/joe.smith/friends?fields=id,name,picture
Google
?fields=title,media:group(media:thumbnail)
Google and Facebook have a similar approach, which works well.
They each have an optional parameter called fields after which you put the names of fieldsyou want to be returned.
As you see in this example, you can also put sub-objects in responses to pull in other information from additional resources.
Add optional fields in a comma-delimited list
The Google approach works extremely well.
Here's how to get just the information we need from our dogs API using this approach:
/dogs?fields=name,color,location
Now I need C# code that handles these kind of queries or even more complex like this:
api/books/?publisher=Jat&Writer=tom&location=LA?fields=title,ISBN?$orderBy=location desc,writerlimit=25&offset=50
So web API users will be able to send any kind of requests they want with different complexities, fields, ordering,... based on their needs.

Google Analytics - filtering out the traffic created by my bot

I built a website testing product that can be employed by Q&A and other teams. It is essentially a Chrome based robot that does all kind of queries to a target website.
I would like to give my customers an option to filter out the bot traffic from their Google Analytics using GA filters, or simply filter it out by default.
Restrictions:
No changes on the tested website required
It must be a product-wide solution (no exceptions for specific customers)
It should not alter any typical parameters (user-agent, screen size, java support, referral, ...), as these can be altered by the user in my product
It shouldn't require any Chrome plugins (such as GA opt-out)
Filtering cannot be IP based, as the product can be ran from anywhere at any time
I would like to avoid blocking GA objects from loading in the browser, as this can skew the test data
Ideally this would be implemented using something like a custom X- HTTP header or a custom cookie, but found no way to filter GA data based on that.
Any ideas how to approach that?

Yahoo, Google, Yelp API

Is there any php API to gather information about a business(address, reviews) by its phone number from Yelp, Google, Insiderpages, Yahoo..
Please help, i have done research about these, but did't get the right info, though yelp is providing info by it's phone number but there they ask ywsid as mendatory (http://api.yelp.com/phone_search?phone=1234567890&ywsid=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) but i want by phone number only.
Please note that all APIs have terms, most of them won't allow you to store their data in your own database and most of them have display requirements, before proceeding with any developing please read carefully their display requirements and terms.
Depending on your project you might not be allowed to use the data as you might need/want to on your project.
The other alternative would be scrapping sites, but most sites have rules against scraping too...
And again read a lot before putting too effort on something you are prohibited to in first place.

ywsid = API key, you need to get your own key if you are using the yelp API, get it here
if you are using it to add it to your own database or storing the information anywhere it is against their policies display requirements & api terms.
if you are using any API you must read their terms before even thinking of doing anything.

Bottom line is, all these companies have put a lot of time and effort and money to build their databases, and they want you to redirect people back to their pages so they can make their money back/profit.

How can google analytics be integrated in a desktop application (MAC)..?

Could anyone help or refer how it can be done..I searched over the net and what i felt is that its only for mobile and websites.
It's for websites. Many of the concepts of web analytics (number of pages viewed for example) don't even make any sense on a desktop app, because they're not organized like a web page.
If you want to use Google analytics data from an analytics account Google provides a data export API.
If you want to track your native application then as Catfish_Man (great name btw!) said, it is not really possible. That isn't totally true, as you could fake it, but the paradigm is so different that you would be better off creating you own solution.

Google Analytics doesn't provide a native Mac app integration, but you can use the Measurement Protocol Overview to send raw data to your GA property from your account.
Just create a mobile app property and then start sending raw GA events using HTTP. There are couple Obj-C wrappers available like https://github.com/swisspol/GARawTracker or https://github.com/stephenlind/SimpleCocoaGoogleAnalytics.
