Start Jenkins local server on Mac - xcode

I am trying to integrate CI/CD using Jenkins. I have properly set Jenkins up on my mac by installing Java JDK and all. The localhost url was also accessible. I was able to manage plugins using http://localhost:8081 url.
But I accidentally closed the terminal window and the Jenkins was stopped. The url stopped working. It now shows error
This site can’t be reached
localhost refused to connect.
I tried to run the Jenkins from terminal using this command
sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.jenkins-ci.plist
also this command:
sudo launchctl start /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.jenkins-ci.plist
The terminal asks for password, but the url still does not work. I even tried unloading the Jenkins using this command:
sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.jenkins-ci.plist
Then again loading and starting command. But its not working.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This is how I solved the above problem
Go to Jenkins directory
/Users/me/Downloads/Jenkins
Then run Jenkins on any port (default 8080 or any other)
java -jar jenkins.war --httpPort=8081
And the localhost is working now.
This was a stupid situation.

I am encountering below error. I am able to set the property using System.setProperty("hudson.plugins.git.GitSCM.ALLOW_LOCAL_CHECKOUT", "true")
However, the issue still persists. Any pointers?

As per https://issues.jenkins.io/browse/JENKINS-68571:
it seems the System Property is read during initialization, thus changing it in Script Console does not change it.
In Script console use property on class directly:
hudson.plugins.git.GitSCM.ALLOW_LOCAL_CHECKOUT = true
Note that neither the System Property nor the class property persist across restarts.
A persistent solution depends on how you installed / start Jenkins.
If you are running via java -jar ..., add the system property there (java -Dhudson.plugins.git.GitSCM.ALLOW_LOCAL_CHECKOUT=true -jar ...).
Or, if you installed it using your systems package manager and your system is using systemd:
$ sudo systemctl edit jenkins
[Service]
Environment="JAVA_OPTS=-Dhudson.plugins.git.GitSCM.ALLOW_LOCAL_CHECKOUT=true"
$ sudo systemctl restart jenkins

Cannot access Flink dashboard localhost:8081 on windows

I follow the first steps to install Flink.
I can start the cluster without any problem
$ start-cluster.sh
Starting cluster.
Starting standalonesession daemon on host DESKTOP-....
Starting taskexecutor daemon on host DESKTOP-....
But I don't get any status from
$ ps aux | grep flink
I can also not access the dashboard via localhost:8081.
There is an older post having these issues, but the solution didn't work for me, since the described conf files do no longer exist, apparently.
My JAVA_HOME is set as C:\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.8.0_311 to avoid issues with the space in Program Files.
Can you check the logs in the /logs folder? I'm suspecting that C:\Program Files\ could still cause issues because of the space there.
go to download Flink folder and try bash command
$./bin/start-cluster.sh --daemon bootstrap-server localhost:8081
and run code one more
$ ./bin/flink run examples/streaming/WordCount.jar
if you finished run above code which not issue, go to localhost:8081
This still seems to be problematic. I tried to run from Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).
I have the following versions: java 11.0.16 and flink 1.15.2.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install openjdk-11-jre-headless
export FLINK_HOME=/mnt/c/Projects/Apache/flink-1.15.2
I set the following in flink-conf.yaml
rest.port: 8081
rest.address: localhost
rest.bind-adress: 0.0.0.0
Whereby I changed the bind address for localhost to 0.0.0.0 this seems to have fixed the problem.
$FLINK_HOME/bin/start-cluster.sh
Now I can access the Flink Web Dashboard.

how to restart teamcity server

I am a beginner to teamcity. Our Teamcity 9 server stopped working after I installed Gradle. I doubt that it was problem with port or something like that. I removed Gradle but Teamcity didn't work. So I tried to restart Teamcity server. We have two teamcity agents. I stopped agents with:
sudo ./runAll.sh stop
and I stopped the server with sudo ./shutdwon.sh
after that I started server again with ./startup.sh and agents with
sudo ./runAll.sh start
Now when I am writing url address in browser I am getting either connection_timout or connection refused But when I am writing url with explicit IP address like 10.31.24.18:8111 then I am getting
My questions:
1- How can I restart Teamcity and agents so that I am getting same agents and project as before restart in TeamCity UI? Or If I am creating Administrator account now after that I should reconfigure all projects or my projects before restart will be there?
2- Why URL with IP-address is working but URL with domain name server name is not working?
You can restart TeamCity right from the UI: Administration > Diagnostics > Server Restart. You will need to have server admin permissions for that.
using command line
cd /opt/teamcity/bin
(sudo) ./teamcity-server.sh stop
(sudo) ./teamcity-server.sh start

Cannot kill local Jenkins on port 8080

I have a local instance of Jenkins running on port 8080 on my mac machine. I want to kill this process and have tried doing so, like below :
lsof -i tcp:8080
kill -9 <the pid>
This closes my chrome instance. But when I open Chrome again and go to localhost:8080, Jenkins is still running over there. Any ideas as to why these commands don't kill it? Also how to kill the process?

Try using the below :
Try to identify the Jenkins instance/process id , like something below:
ps -ef| grep jenkins
Go to the server (like apache) where your Jenkins is installed and kill the process id like below :
$ kill -9 1001(processId)
lost -i tcp:8080 will also list processes that connect to port 8080, e.g. chrome. What happens if you repeat above commands after you've quit chrome? Then hopefully Jenkins should be the only process working on port 8080.
If you installed Jenkins via the OSX Installer you'll need to follow these instructions to edit the plist file via the command line (manually doing it is a pain).
When you've made necessary changes, such as running
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/org.jenkins-ci httpPort [YOUR DESIRED PORT HERE]
you'll need to 'unload' Jenkins:
sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.jenkins-ci.plist.
And now Jenkins is dead. To undead Jenkins just swap load for unload in the above command.

Unable to start XAMPP Apache server on MacOS-Sierra

Whenever I'm trying to start my Apache server from XAMPP on my Macbook (MacOS-Sierra) . I'm getting following application log :
Starting Apache Web Server...
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/apache2/scripts/ctl.sh : httpd started
And status remains Stopped. I re-install XAMPP and restarted my laptop multiple times, but I'm still having same issue. Couldn't find anything help to resolve this issue.
I found the solution:
Make sure port 80 is not being used (Use Network Utility and scan for port 80. If you found any application using port 80, then kill it)
Open terminal and execute
sudo apachectl stop
(ignore, if you get any error)
On the same terminal window execute
sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/apachectl start
Open XAMPP control panel, your apache server might have started by now, if not then you can start manually by clicking start button.
This worked for me!!
Simply goto your terminal and type:
sudo apachectl stop
It'll ask for password. Enter your system password.
Go back to XAMPP control panel and start Apache.
It should get started now.
I had the same Problem and fixed it by deleting the lib folder in Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/ and installing XAMPP again. It's probably due to old lib files from previous versions not being updated properly.
Another related issue, which I faced caused Apache sever failure. And failure logs is :
[Sun Jul 30 12:43:58.747822 2017] [unique_id:alert] [pid 9188] (EAI 8)nodename nor servname provided, or not known: AH01564:
unable to find IPv4 address of "MacBook-Pro.local" AH00016: Configuration Failed
To solve this :
Executed following command
sudo -e /etc/hosts
Then, changed following entries
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
to
127.0.0.1 localhost MacBook-Pro.local
::1 localhost MacBook-Pro.local
I had the same issue when I update my XAMPP app, if you have to do this, you first have to uninstall your XAMPP (save your HTDOCS files in another folder, NOT in XAMPP folder, or you will lose it), and after that you can install the newest version of XAMPP. It worked for me, hope for you too.
