Good day everyone! I just want to ask on how to upload .zip file into server (in Ubuntu OS)?
Case: I want to upload .zip file in a folder in the desktop of my server computer (Ubuntu OS).
What I've done so far: I already have my UI and some codes.

What should be my next move? Do I need to configure some code in FileStorage.php? and what should be the right path in this $file->move(public_path().'/system/', $name, $extension);?
Let's see, first of all public_path() returns the path of the public folder in your project's root. This is because normally you shouldn't write outside that folder for security reasons.
There are ways to override that, but I'd suggest you simply make a link on that desktop that points at that folder. You'll probably have to manage permissions, so that that particular user can access the content of the public folder (and best only that folder).
Also, the "desktop" is a folder in a user's home, and it depends on what desktop manager you're using (KDE, Gnome, etc.), so if you want to write the data in every user's desktop, you'd have to replicate the data, which is not a good idea.
So, I'd just put the files on a public folder subfolder and a symbolic link that points to it wherever you need.

I'm having the same issue, as a work around I've used the following:

Your experience may diff as to the path where it stores the file
I want to delete a News from database and when I hit the delete button all data from database deleted but the image is remains in upload folder.
So, how do I this to work.

You could use PHP's unlink() method just as #Khan suggested.
But if you want to do it the Laravel way, use the File::delete() method instead.

the easiest way for you to delete the image of the news is using the model event like below
and the model delete the image if the news deleted

The key is that you need to remove '..' from the delete method. Keep in mind that this goes true if you are using Storage as well, whether you are using Storage of File don't for get to use them like

The problem is that you are renaming your file in the controller with md5($image . microtime()) so you cannot assert that image1.jpg exists since you changed the name.
What you could do is let laravel name the file and then check that in your test:
In your Controller:
Replace storeAs with store, store will generate a unique ID to serve as the file name.

The easiest way to store files in Laravel is this.
