Ask about sub view in laravel blade template - laravel

I'm want to ask about sub view in laravel blade the specific situation is as follows.
a view of pages
I want when click to component 1(2), The contents of the child blade file in #section('sub-view') will be rendered in the #yield('sub-view'). and this is the code of the parent blade file.
parent blade file
#extends('layouts.default')
#section('content')
<div class="row">
<div class="col-4">
<ul class="list-unstyled">
<li>
Component 1
</li>
<li>
Component 2
</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="col-8">
#yield('sub-view')
</div>
</div>
#endsection
And the code of child blade file.
child blade file
#section('sub-view')
<p>This is component 1</p>
#endsection
and my route file
Route file
Route::group(['prefix' => 'projects'], function () {
Route::get('', function () {
return View::make('pages.project.projects');
});
Route::get('comp1', function () {
return view('pages.project.comp1');
});
Route::get('comp2', function () {
return view('pages.project.comp2');
});
});
Can someone just help me solve this problem?
Thank

I think you need to add an
#extends('parent') // or whatever your parent view is called
to your child view file.

Laravel 2 submit buttons in the same form

I am building a CRUD with Laravel. Each category hasMany attachments and each attachment belongsTo a category.
In the category.edit view I want to give the user the possibility of deleting the attachments (singularly) from the Category. I tried this method but it did not work:
Registering route for the attachment:
Route::group(['middleware' => ['auth']], function () {
Route::delete('attachment/{id}', 'AttachmentController#delete')->name('attachment');
});
Handling the delete building the AttachmentController#delete method:
class AttachmentController extends Controller
{
public function delete($id) {
$toDelete = Attachment::findOrFail($id);
$toDelete->delete();
return redirect()->back();
}
}
In the CategoryController (edit method), I fetch the attachments linked to each category to be rendered inside the view:
public function edit($category)
{
$wildcard = $category;
$category = Category::findOrFail($wildcard);
$attachments = App\Category::findOrFail($wildcard)->attachments()->get()->toArray();
return view('category.edit', [
'category' => $category,
'attachments' => $attachments
]);
}
In the view, I render the attachment and the button to delete. I am fully aware of the error of having a form inside another form, nevertheless I do not know antoher approach to submit this delete request.
// update Category form
#foreach ($attachments as $attachment)
<div class="row">
<div class="col-4">
<img style="width: 100%;" src={{ $attachment['url'] }} alt="">
</div>
<div class="col-4">
<div>
<p class="general_par general_url">{{ $attachment['url'] }}</p>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-4">
<form action="{{ route('attachment', $attachment['id']) }}" method="POST">
#csrf
#method('DELETE')
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-danger">Delete Image</button>
</form>
</div>
</div>
<hr>
#endforeach
// end of update Category form
Should I build a deleteAttachment method inside the CategoryController? If so, how can I still submit the Delete request? Also, if any other Model in the future will have attachments, should I build a deleteAttachment method inside each controller? That is cumbersome. Thanks in advance
if you don't like to use form, then use tag:
<a class="btn btn-danger" href="{{ route('attachment', $attachment['id']) }}">Delete Image</a>
And redefine the route to Route::get(...)
(or maybe use ajax for POST method if that is required)

to get data in a modal in Laravel

Is there any way to get the data inside a modal? I know that it is possible to work with this through Jquery, but I would like to know if there is any way to work with Laravel itself. In a view, we can do this:
return view ('admin/users/index', ['datas1' => $ datas1, 'datas2' => $datas2];
but for a modal, is it possible to do something like this? to send my data through the controller and within my modal I check if this data are coming empty or filled, as this answer I just want to show different things, like this:
$dep = User::query()->where('dep_link', $id)->get();
 return['status' => 'success', 'dep' => $dep];
only my validation in the modal:
<div class="row" style="padding: 28px 20px;">
<div class="col-12">
#if(empty($dep))
<div class="position-relative">
<label for="rg_titular">Selecione o RG do titular (.png .jpg .pdf)</label><br>
<input type="file" name="rg_titular" class="file-input"/>
<button type="button" class="file-button">Selecionar arquivo</button>
<span class="text-arquivo">Arquivo selecionado!</span>
</div>
#else
<a href="link" target="_blank">
Visualizar RG do titular
</a>
#endif
</div>
</div>
Is there any way I can get this data inside the modal window and work with them? I just want to check if it's coming empty or not, that's all.
You can write a view composer for the modal blade file.
https://laravel.com/docs/5.8/views#view-composers
In your service provider (app, or a custom one you make)
public function boot()
{
view()->composer('myBladeFileName', function ($view) {
$activeUsers = \App\User::where('active', true)->get();
$view->with(compact('activeUsers'));
});
}

Can't work with object after sending it via Ajax request

I sent to my bootstrap modal this content with Ajax:
<div class="list-of-players text-center">
<div class="list">
#foreach($team->players as $player)
<a class="player_choose" id="player_id_Standard_{{$player->id}}">
<div class="player">
<span class="p_name"><span class="flag-icon {{$player->nationality->flag}}"></span> {{$player->fullname}}</span>
</div>
</a>
#endforeach
</div>
</div>
But then when I want to choose some element of this modal window by this code:
$('.player_choose').click(function () {
$('.modal').modal('hide');
});
It doesn't work. What can be a problem? Maybe js don't see "player_choose" elements after ajax?
Yes. Your script executes before you get this element with ajax. You should use event delegation. This should work:
$(document).on('click','.player_choose', function () {
$('.modal').modal('hide');
});

vue.js 2.0 load component dynamically in laravel 5.3

Is it possible to load a component dynamically when clicking a list item in vuejs 2.0 and laravel 5.3? I have a standard Laravel app but on one section of the site (shows reports) I want to turn this page into a single page application using vuejs. I load the default report in using a vue component and all works well, like so:
<div class="col-md-3 col-sm-6">
<div class="card-box">
<h2>Reports</h2><br>
<ul>
<li>Daily</li>
<li>Weekly</li>
<li>Season</li>
<li>Label</li>
<li></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-9 col-sm-6">
<div class="card-box main">
<reports-homepage></reports-homepage>
</div>
</div>
What I'm trying to achieve is when one of the li items is clicked the <reports-homepage></reports-homepage> is changed dynamically according to which li is pressed. So it could become <reports-daily></reports-daily> for example.
I've tried putting a #click on the li component and catching that in a script below in the blade section but that gives me the following error:
[Vue warn]: Templates should only be responsible for mapping the state to the UI. Avoid placing tags with side-effects in your templates, such as <script>.
As pointed in the official documentation you can use dynamic components. In your case it could look something like this:
HTML
<div id="app">
<div class="col-md-3 col-sm-6">
<div class="card-box">
<h2>Reports</h2><br>
<ul>
<li #click="setComponent('daily')">Daily</li>
<li #click="setComponent('weekly')">Weekly</li>
<li #click="setComponent('season')">Season</li>
<li #click="setComponent('label')">Label</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-9 col-sm-6">
<div class="card-box main">
<component v-bind:is="currentComponent"></component>
</div>
</div>
</div>
JS
var vm = new Vue({
el: '#app',
data: {
currentComponent: 'daily'
},
components: {
'daily': { /* component object */ },
'weekly': { /* component object */ },
'season': { /* component object */ },
'label': { /* component object */ }
},
methods: {
setComponent: function (component) {
this.currentComponent = component;
}
}
})
And that should do what you are trying to achieve. Let me know if it helped!

Laravel:Passing variable from controller to view

chatcontroller.php function returns variable to view:
public function getChat()
{
$message = chat_messages::all();
return View::make('home',compact($message));
}
this is my route:
Route::get('/getChat', array('as' => 'getChat','uses' => 'ChatController#getChat'));
this is my home.blade.php:
#extends('layouts.main')
#section('content')
<div class="container">
<h2>Welcome to Home Page!</h2>
<p> <a href="{{ URL::to('/logout') }}" > Logout </a></p>
<h1>Hello <span id="username">{{ Auth::user()->username }} </span>!</h1>
<div id="chat_window">
</div>
<input type="text" name="chat" class="typer" id="text" autofocus="true" onblur="notTyping()">
</div>
<ul>
#foreach($message as $msg)
<li>
{{ $msg['sender_username']," says: ",$msg['message'],"<br/>" }}
</li>
#endforeach
</ul>
<script src="{{ asset('js/jquery-2.1.3.min.js') }}"></script>
<script src="{{ asset('js/chat.js') }}"></script>
#stop
I am trying to send result returned by select query to view from controller.
when I do this from homecontroller.php then it works fine.
if I try to pass from controller which I have defined it gives error message as:Undefined variable.
I have used the extends \BaseController do i need to do anything else to access my controller variable from view.
please suggest some tutorial if possible for same.
Verify the route to be sure it uses the new controller:
Route::get('user/profile', array('uses' => 'MyDefinedController#showProfile'));
First of all check your routes, as Matei Mihai says.
There are two different ways to pass data into your view;
$items = Item::all();
// Option 1
return View::make('item.index', compact('items'));
// Option 2
return View::make('item.index')->with('items', $items); // same code as below
// Option 3
View::share('item.index', compact('items'));
return View::make('item.index);
You can also do this:
$this->data['items'] = Item::all();
return View::make('item.index', $this->data);
