DUXCameraSettingsController seems to be broken in UXSDK 4.8.x - dji-sdk

After upgrading to the 4.8.x SDK from 4.7.1 the DUXCameraSettingsController stopped displaying the actual settings panels, but continues to show the settings tab-bar, pressing the tabs does not make any settings appear. Is this a bug in the UXSDK or am I just using the controller wrong? I cannot find any example on the usage of that particular controller.

presentViewController in AppDelegate with delay in iOS8

So I had a full working solution in iOS7 that displays a LoginViewController via presentViewController in the AppDelegate's didFinishLaunching.
Basically I am doing something like this:
UIViewController *backgroundViewController = ...
self.window.rootViewController = backgroundViewController;
[self.window makeKeyAndVisible];
[self.window.rootViewController presentViewController:loginViewController
animated:NO ...]
In iOS8 I see a jump. First I see the backgroundViewController then after about 1 second or so the login appears.
So, how can I prevent this jump in iOS8?
I am seeing that are a ton of developers with this kind of problem but still didn't find a solution.
Also a hack (for now), but just one line of code
Add the view of the view controller you're presenting to the window before presentation

If you are presenting a navigation controller than add the navigation controller's view instead of its top view controller.
I have a quick hacky fix:

It is not good for long term, but can quickly fix this issue without changing too much code.

You can set the window to an instance of a temporary controller.

From the set controller (LoginViewController) you can push your real login controller with the desired transition. Once the login sequence is over you can make a transition from the login controller to the default application root view controller.

iOS 7: Restrict device current orientation when modal view controller is presented

I have a UIViewController which contains a UICollectionView. On tapping any of the UICollectionViewCell I present a modal view controller.

The PopViewController shows up correctly. Now I want to restrict the device orientation when PopViewController is being presented. That is if PopViewController is presented in portrait mode then it should not change to landscape even if I switch to landscape mode (using Rotate Left or Right in simulator) until I dismiss the PopViewController.
I have used following code in PopViewController:

What else (or instead) is needed to lock the pop up view to the current orientation?

Chromium Tabs are reseting flash content in WebView

I'm working with https://github.com/rsms/chromium-tabs in my project and I have created my app so the tabs are registered to a WebView. When I'm debugging I noticed that when I was viewing a Youtube video or any flash content and I switched tabs then switch back the content reloaded or the video restarted. Is there any reason this should hapen.
When a tab is selected it is set: [self becomeFirstResponder];
Other than that I have found no other connected way the flash would reset and the rest of the page would remain the same. I'm believing its a setting in WebView whenever it is not visible.

xcode iOS6 orientation landscape

I see a lot of questions about this subject but am unable to find a solution to the problem I am experiencing. I have created an iPad app that should be Landscape only - it works fine when ran on any os prior to iOS6 but on iOS6 the app opens in portrait view. I'm guessing the problem is somewhere in the below code, but I can't be sure. I have set the supported Interface Orientations to Landscape Left and Landscape Right only - but this has not worked. I have also taken a look at the questions here with no luck..

I had the same problem (but not using cordova/phonegap).
You have to set your view controller as a RootViewController in your appDelegate instead of just adding as a subview.
Replace in you appdelegate:
[self.window addSubview:self.viewController.view];
[self.window makeKeyAndVisible];
By
[self.window setRootViewController:self.viewController];
[self.window makeKeyAndVisible];
You can use the delegate

Using this delegate and the application will be present in Landscape mode or any desired orientation mode.

Drag and Drop with NSStatusItem

I'm trying to write an application that allows the user to drag files from the Finder and drop them onto an NSStatusItem. So far, I've created a custom view that implements the drag and drop interface. When I add this view as a subview of an NSWindow it all works correctly -- the mouse cursor gives appropriate feedback, and when dropped my code gets executed.
However, when I use the same view as an NSStatusItem's view it doesn't behave correctly. The mouse cursor gives appropriate feedback indicating that the file can be dropped, but when I drop the file my drop code never gets executed.
Is there something special I need to do to enable drag and drop with an NSStatusItem?
I finally got around to testing this and it works perfectly, so there's definitely something wrong with your code.
Here's a custom view that allows dragging:

Since Yosemite, the method for setting a view on NSStatusItem is deprecated but fortunately there is a much nicer way using the new NSStatusItemButton property on NSStatusItem:
