How to Insert data in Elastic Search - elasticsearch

In my dotnet core project i need to insert data in elastic search. I am using bellow code for insert.
List<Patient> employeeData = null;
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create("http://localhost:5001/api/Employee/GetAll");
request.Method = "GET";
using (HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse())
{
Stream dataStream = response.GetResponseStream();
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(dataStream);
var data= reader.ReadToEnd();
reader.Close();
dataStream.Close();
employeeData = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<List<Employee>>(data);
}
var lst = employeeData;
int count = 0;
foreach (var obj in lst)
{
count ++;
this.client.Index(obj, i => i
.Index("employee")
.Type("myEmployee")
.Id(count)
// .Refresh()
);
}
After Execute the above code i am using bellow url for check the inserted data
localhost:9200/emp
I am getting following output.
{"emp":{"aliases":{},"mappings":{"myEmpl":{"properties":{"firstName":{"type":"text","fields":{"keyword":{"type":"keyword","ignore_above":256}}},"gEmailId":{"type":"text","fields":{"keyword":{"type":"keyword","ignore_above":256}}},"gMobile":{"type":"text","fields":{"keyword":{"type":"keyword","ignore_above":256}}},"wmployeeID":{"type":"long"},"registrationNo":{"type":"text","fields":{"keyword":{"type":"keyword","ignore_above":256}}}}}},"settings":{"index":{"creation_date":"1547020635852","number_of_shards":"5","number_of_replicas":"1","uuid":"6kle4jzMQDSICnPsmATbDw","version":{"created":"6050499"},"provided_name":"emp"}}}}
I am not able to see any of my data. What is the problem in this.

localhost:9200/emp returns the settings and mappings for index 'emp'. For the content, try localhost:9200/emp/_search.

How to update data through Api in Xamarin

I do the update command through the API. Everything seems fine. However, the data is not up to date. When I debug there is no error.
public async Task UpdateViewRatingStore(bool value)
{
var url = baseUrl + userget;
HttpClient client = new HttpClient();
client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Authorization = new AuthenticationHeaderValue("Bearer", mytokenlogin);
string jsonStr = await client.GetStringAsync(url);
var res = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<Customer>(jsonStr);
var checkunredrating = res.RatingStores;
if (checkunredrating != null)
{
foreach (var r in checkunredrating)
{
r.ID = r.ID;
r.StoreID = r.StoreID;
r.RatingStores = r.RatingStores;
r.CommentStore = r.CommentStore;
r.UserRating = r.UserRating;
r.CreateDay = r.CreateDay;
r.Display = r.Display;
r.ViewStorer = value;
var urlput = baseUrlStoreRating + r.ID;
var stringContent = new StringContent(JsonConvert.SerializeObject(res.RatingStores), Encoding.UTF8, "application/json");
await client.PutAsync(urlput, stringContent);
}
}
}
However when I check in the database it is still not updated. I tested it manually on swagger and Posman was fine. Where did I go wrong? Ask for help. Thank you
you are trying to update a single object, but passing the entire collection every time
instead, try this
foreach (var r in checkunredrating)
{
// you only need to update the changed values
r.ViewStorer = value;
var urlput = baseUrlStoreRating + r.ID;
// only send the current object you are updating
var stringContent = new StringContent(JsonConvert.SerializeObject(r), Encoding.UTF8, "application/json");
await client.PutAsync(urlput, stringContent);
}

square Connect API Batch

I am using .NET to list the payments from my square account.
I am able to get a list of the payments, but to get the description field I have to go one level deeper and make http end point calls for each payment. This is time consuming.
Question: Can anyone provide me with a sample in Visual C# or Java to make batch calls for retrieving payments (using multiple payment id's)?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Prashant
#Andrew - Here's what I am using, I am just not sure how to add the headers for batch payments retrieval.
string res = string.Empty;
string qs = string.Empty;
foreach (string s in parameters.Keys)
{
if (qs == string.Empty)
qs = "?";
else
qs += "&";
qs += s + "=" + parameters[s];
}
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(_connectUrl + "/" + command + qs); ///
request.Proxy = null;
request.Headers.Add("Authorization", "Bearer " + _accessToken);// ");
request.ContentType = "application/json";
request.Method = method; // "GET";
try { HttpWebResponse responseGet = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse();
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(responseGet.GetResponseStream());
StringBuilder output = new StringBuilder();
output.Append(reader.ReadToEnd());
responseGet.Close();
request = null;
return output.ToString();
}
catch (Exception exp)
Looks like I've been able to answer my own query.
We need to be able to send the following POST to the HTTP Endpoint
{"requests":[{"method":"GET","relative_path":"/v1/me/payments/<payment_id>","access_token":"XXXX","request_id":"1"},{"method":"GET","relative_path":"/v1/me/payments/<payment_id>","access_token":"XXXX","request_id":"2"}]}
the following code in .NET achieves the above
//Convert the body of request into a byte array
byte[] byteArray = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(body);
//Set the length
request.ContentLength = byteArray.Length;
//Write the body to the request by using a datastream
//This line never returns....
Stream datastream = request.GetRequestStream();
datastream.Write(byteArray, 0, byteArray.Length);
datastream.Close();
And that's all there is to it.
Hope this helps anyone is is set out to use the batch mode.
Thanks

Master details batch crud with entity framework only saving single detail record

I'm building a master details page with batch editing, that is multiple details records with single master record. but only one detail record is being saved into the data base. I tried to debug & found that detail loop is executing multiple time accurately but not the saving multiple data. Here is my Code for save method:
public ActionResult CMN_VAL_FORM(HRM_CMN_VLU_MST_ViewModel model)
{
//var ctx=new Entities1();
var CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ = new HRM_CMN_VLU_MST();
var CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ = new HRM_CMN_VLU_DTL();
//using (TransactionScope transaction = new TransactionScope())
//{
using (var ctx = new Entities1())
{
var type_code = ctx.ExecuteStoreQuery<string>("select get_pk_code('hrm_cmn_vlu_mst','CMN_VLU_TYPE_CODE') from dual").SingleOrDefault(); //A scalar function to generate the code in the format yymmdd0001
var value_code = ctx.ExecuteStoreQuery<string>("select get_pk_code('hrm_cmn_vlu_dtl','CMN_VLU_CODE') from dual").SingleOrDefault();
CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ.CMN_VLU_TYPE_CODE = type_code;
CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ.CMN_VLU_REM = model.CMN_VLU_REM;
CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ.CMN_VLU_TYPE_FOR = model.CMN_VLU_TYPE_FOR;
CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ.CMN_VLU_TYPE_SRTNM = model.CMN_VLU_TYPE_SRTNM;
CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ.ENTRY_DATE = DateTime.Now;
CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ.CMN_VLU_TYPE_NAME = model.CMN_VLU_TYPE_NAME;
foreach (var item in model.HRM_CMN_VLU_DTL)
{
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.CMN_VLU_LEVL = item.CMN_VAL_LEVL;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.CMN_VLU_REM = item.CMN_VLU_REM;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.CMN_VLU_SLNO = item.CMN_VLU_SLNO;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.CMN_VLU_TITL = item.CMN_VAL_TITL;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.CMN_VLU_CNTN = item.CMN_VAL_CNTN;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.CMN_VLU_CODE = value_code;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.CMN_VLU_TYPE_CODE = type_code;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.ENTRY_DATE = DateTime.Now;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.MAIL_ADDR_INT = item.MAIL_ADDR_INT;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.MAIL_ADDR_EXT = item.MAIL_ADDR_EXT;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.MAIL_AUTO_SEND_INT = item.MAIL_AUTO_SEND_INT;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.MAIL_AUTO_SEND_EXT = item.MAIL_AUTO_SEND_EXT;
CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ.ACTIVE_STATUS = item.ACTIVE_STATUS;
CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ.HRM_CMN_VLU_DTL.Add(CMN_VLU_DTL_OBJ);
ctx.SaveChanges();
var temp_value_code = Int32.Parse(value_code);
temp_value_code++;
value_code = temp_value_code.ToString();
ctx.HRM_CMN_VLU_MST.AddObject(CMN_VLU_MST_OBJ);
}
ctx.SaveChanges();
// transaction.Complete();
//}
}
return View();
}
No Error message for the code, but not saving multiple detail records. What I'm doing wrong?
What I was doing wrong, I created the object just once & updated that same object every time while executing the foreach loop! I just moved the object declaration into the foreach loop & it works like a charm!

Writing CSV to MemoryStream using LinqToCSV does not return any data

I've verified using System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ms.ToArray)); that my memorystream has the expected data.
However using the LinqToCSV nuget library will not generate my csv file. I get no errors or exceptions thrown. I just get an empty file when I'm prompted to open the file.
Here is my Action Method
public FileStreamResult Export(){
var results = _service.GetProperties().Take(3);
System.IO.MemoryStream ms = new System.IO.MemoryStream();
System.IO.TextWriter txt = new System.IO.StreamWriter(ms);
CsvFileDescription inputFileDescription = new CsvFileDescription{
SeparatorChar =',',
FirstLineHasColumnNames = true
}
;
CsvContext csv = new CsvContext();
csv.Write(results,txt,inputFileDescription);
return File(ms , "application/x-excel");
}
I find it interesting, if I change the return type to contentResult, and the return method to Content() and pass it System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ms.ToArray)); I do get a browser window showing my data.
Make sure you reset stream position to 0. Also make sure you flush your StreamWriter before that.
Calling the Web API method to return CVS file from JavaScript.
public HttpResponseMessage Bidreport([FromBody]int formData).....
Fill in your IEnumerable<YourObject>query = from LINQ query
....
This is how to return it:
using (var ms = new MemoryStream())
{
using (TextWriter txt = new StreamWriter(ms))
{
var cc = new CsvContext();
cc.Write(query, txt, outputFileDescription);
txt.Flush();
ms.Position = 0;
var fileData = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ms.ToArray());
var result = new HttpResponseMessage(HttpStatusCode.OK) {Content = new StringContent(fileData)};
result.Content.Headers.ContentType = new MediaTypeHeaderValue("application/x-excel");
return result;
}
}

WP7 - Lost object's reference when making an asynchronous request/response

I am making a request to a service and getting a response. Service works fine and I am deserializing an object without a problem.
Below is an example of my code. The problem is the result object is null at the end. I do not know why am I losing a reference. What is the proper solution?
HttpWebRequest hwrq = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("http://service.svc/Login");
hwrq.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; encoding='utf-8'";
hwrq.Accept = "text/xml";
hwrq.Method = "POST";
Users result = null; // object initializaiton
hwrq.BeginGetRequestStream(ar =>
{
var requestStream = hwrq.EndGetRequestStream(ar);
using (var sw = new StreamWriter(requestStream, System.Text.Encoding.UTF8))
{
sw.Write("Username Password");
sw.Close();
}
hwrq.BeginGetResponse(a =>
{
var response = hwrq.EndGetResponse(a);
var responseStream = response.GetResponseStream();
using (var sr = new StreamReader(responseStream))
{
returnedXML = sr.ReadToEnd();
XmlSerializer xds = new XmlSerializer(typeof(Users));
byte[] byteArray = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(returnedXML);
MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(byteArray);
result = (Users)xds.Deserialize(stream); // object is correct
}
responseStream.Close();
response.Close();
}, null);
}, null);
return result; // object is null!
Just like MarcinJuraszek suggested, the proper way is to make a callback and handle the results there.
