Build Success when running mvn checkstyle as part of build - maven

Question

I am running mvn checkstyle as a part of build and have configured the plugin in pom.xml in such a way that the build should fail.
But When I am running mvn clean install command, the build get success.

After adding the reporting section in pom.xml, I have run mvn site command and then after adding checkstyle plugin in build I have run mvn clean install. But the build gets success. There is no checkstyle.xml, checkstyle-suppressions.xml getting created. Here is the java code.
