Update Xcode 10.1 to 10.2 on High Sierra 10.13.6 - xcode

I'm trying to update Xcode 10.1 to 10.2 on my High Sierra 10.13.6 version.
The App Store window shows the update button, but the problem is after hitting that button, the circle on the upper-left corner is just rotating for hours and nothing else happens!
Since the difference between the two versions is not that huge, the update naturally must be downloaded and installed after some time, but in effect it's not that way!
How to solve that issue, please?

I am using Xcode10.2 on High Sierra 10.13.6, and can build several projects for my iPhone 5s and 6s Plus which working on iOS12.2. The process is similar to Damnum’s.
Change the name of working Xcode like Xcode10.1.
Download Xcode 10.2 and copy it into Applications folder. (The name is of course Xcode.)
Edit Xcode.app/Contents/Info.plist and change the Minimum System Version to 10.13.6 with Xcode10.1
Edit Xcode.app/Contents/Applications/FileMerge/Contents/Info.plist and change the Minimum System Version to 10.13.6 with Xcode10.1
Edit Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Applications/Simulator.app/Contents/Info.plist and change the Minimum System Version to 10.13 with Xcode10.1
Launch Xcode (it is 10.2) and install the rest of items.
Now you can use iOS12.2 features in the Xcode.
I tested my own projects and several sample projects from iOS 12 App Development Essentials by Neil Smyth. All of them work fine on my devises including camera app.

Follow these steps:
Download Xcode 10.2 via this link (you need to be signed in with your Apple Id): https://developer.apple.com/services-account/download?path=/Developer_Tools/Xcode_10.2/Xcode_10.2.xip and install it
Edit Xcode.app/Contents/Info.plist and change the Minimum System Version to 10.13.6
Do the same for Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Applications/Simulator.app/Contents/Info.plist (might require a restart of Xcode and/or Mac OS to make it open the simulator on run)
Replace Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/xcodebuild with one from 10.1

The difference between the two versions is not that huge for example Swift 5.0 allows to build projects without the embedded Swift Libraries.
Xcode 10.2 doesn't run in High Sierra. It requires macOS 10.14.3

As it doesn't appear to have been mentioned in the existing answers/comments, for completeness, the last version of Xcode to run on High Sierra (macOS 10.13.2) is version 9.4.1, but on macOS 10.13.6 the last supported version of Xcode is version 10.1
From Xcode want install on high Sierra 10.13.6:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xcode has a good summary of compatibility versions. Looks like for 10.13.6 you'll need Xcode 9.4.1
Looking on https://developer.apple.com/download/more/
Command_Line_Tools_macOS_10.13_for_Xcode_9.4.1.dmg
Xcode_9.4.1.xip
However, once 9.4.1 is installed upon 10.13.6, then there is an update offered for the CLT on the AppStore to version 10.1,
When the Xcode 7.0 - 10.x section of the Wikipedia page is checked, it can be seen that the quote above is not (entirely) correct, depending upon which version of High Sierra you have installed:
For 10.13.2, Xcode 9.4.1 is the last supported version
Command_Line_Tools_macOS_10.13_for_Xcode_9.4.1.dmg
Xcode_9.4.1.xip
For 10.13.6, Xcode 10.1 is the last supported version
Command_Line_Tools_macOS_10.13_for_Xcode_10.1.dmg
Xcode_10.1.xip

black/blank screen iOS simulator on VMware

I am having a weird issue with simulator it shows me this screen
I have searched around for a solution and have tried to reset the content and settings it didn't work
Currently, I have Xcode version 11.3 (11C29) and macOS version 10.15 beta installed. When I run the project with iPhone 11 pro 13.3 it shows me the black screen.
Unlike regular/ initial ios simulator set up, there are no apps installed by default.
I am running mac on VMware. Any kind of help is really helpful.
I was facing a similar issue, got it fixed by using the correct version of Xcode
For VMWare Catalina - 10.15 Beta(197a471t) use Xcode - 10.3
Use this site to Download Specefic Xcode from Apple -> https://xcodereleases.com
It also fixed a Assets.Xcassets problem I was facing (LaunchImage Problem), really bad the MacOS is so specific with these versions
Hope you get it fixed...
P.S for virtual Box users there is a command line fix ->https://wasaytechtips.com/springboard-quit-unexpectedly/

Error downloading Xcode on macOS

When I go to the Apple app store and tried to download I got the below response, can I get any idea how I can bypass this issue?
Xcode can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because macOS version
10.13.2 or later is required.
It seems like you have old OS X. Try to download from the internet Xcode 3/4/5.
https://www.appcoda.com/how-to-download-older-version-of-xcode/
Read this about older versions.
To check your OS X:
Go to the left top part of the screen.
Press "About This Mac". Now you see your OS X and can Google for suitable xCode version.
You are probably running Sierra or less, You need to update you Mac OS X into High Sierra in order to update and use the latest Xcode 9.3.
Note: You could be running High Sierra but make sure you update to the latest OS X Release from App Store > Updates Tap and make sure its all updated.

Xcode 5.1 with new OS 10.10 Yosemite displays Cyan circle on screen

I have installed the developer preview of the new operating system Yosemite. Xcode 5.1.1 and then I did the 10.10 update. After performing the update and restarting, when I open Xcode 5.1.1 I get this cyan circle with a cross hair in side of it. I cannot move it around nor close it.
Is there anyone that knows how to remove it or is experiencing the same issue.
My screen shot is available at this link:

You're using a pre-release OS with a version of Xcode that doesn't officially support the OS Version so there is a good chance of you finding that things don't work as expected.
You should probably download Xcode 6 Beta 2 from the iOS/Mac Dev Centre and use that instead as it is designed for 10.10.
Xcode 5.1 is theoretically useless on the developer preview anyway as you cannot submit apps to the app store that have been compiled on a machine running a pre-release OS.

How to install Xcode 4 on Mac OS X Mavericks

I can't install Xcode 4. I have some files that I need to open in Xcode 4. However, when I try to install it, it says "Xcode Install Assistant cannot be installed on this disk. The version of OS X is too new." How can I make it think I'm on Lion or Mountain Lion?
Here is a picture:
Download it in the App Store - it's the newest version and looks like the disc you have doesn't support Mavericks.
I feel tired of these preposterous answers. I think that if you want to stick to an older version of something, you should be able to. Also, I don't think software like XCode 4 are that old anyway.
But, to the point: I think XCode 4.6.3 is compatible with Mavericks. I am not sure about previous 4.6.X, but I think none of them work.
Any versions prior would require a previous operating system. I think you could try using pacifist to install the version you want, but I haven't found any guides.
If your problem is with project compatibility, in XCode 5 there is an option to save the project in a way it is compatible with XCode 4.6, and I suppose 4.6 offers a similar option to save in a version prior. Of course, you may need to adapt the code of the projects accordingly. Usually I try to stick with the Snow-Leopard-compatible code, because it compiles fine in all XCode 4.X and 5.X versions.
You can download any of these from the developer website.
I would try partitioning the disk and installing an older Mac OS X. I work with Snow Leopard and Mavericks in the same Mac. I usually do interface tasks in SL and the rest on Mavericks. The other advantage is that I have both XCode 4.2 and 3.2.6 in the same machine, so I can manage some backwards compatibility. =D

Xcode 4.3.1 on Mac 10.6.8

I work on Mac 10.6 because I don't want to lose spaces to Lion. It's an extremely efficient part of my workflow. And I program for the iPad and need to write for iOS 5.1 and the new retina display, but for some reason apple has made the new Xcode only available for Mac 10.7 or later.
How can I either install the new Xcode, find a workable Xcode, or somehow install iOS 5.1 support into my current Xcode? (4.0.1)
You can not do that without cheat with Apple, you need to stay up to date !
It is not possible, you have to upgrade. Xcode 4.3 is coded with innovations that will only work on OS X Lion.
The cap was Xcode 4.2 that ran on SL. You will have to upgrade or continue only developing for older, legacy iOS versions (not a good option).
